Kim really shouldn't be store director. She has no people skills. I used to work there. It sucked. She's only still there because she has good work ethics. When I needed a job again she refused. And the prices are too high. I would never go there again. One time I needed a mental health day because I just got out of the hospital for personal reasons. She also refused to give me a mental health day.

so I moved to Mountlake Terrace may be about six months ago .... I've been to the Safeway multiple times and have had some of the worst experiences coming to the Safeway.... I've gotten accused of stealing several times.. mind you I'm pregnant, and I always carry my wallet. I don't carry a purse so being accused of stealing kind of upsets me.... I've never had security called on me, but I've been followed around the store by workers at self check out. I had a woman come up to me and open my bag and look inside the bag of items that were literally just pay for it, and then proceeded to ask me."" did you pay for all the items"" like ma'am are you even allowed to touch my groceries after I literally just paid for them on camera get your nasty ass hands off the stuff I literally just paid for . I've spoke with a younger girl, my age that was pushing the carts outside, and she totally agreed with me that a lot of the older employees are super rude and constantly accuse people of stealing...... but totally unacceptable how I've been treated over and over and over and I'm a regular customer, so why are we treating our regulars this way?????? it was an older blonde lady tonight that wanted to harass me and then when I asked her@ some questions" she told me " there's other people waiting on me"" LIKE MA'AM, IF YOU'RE GONNA TAKE THE TIME TO HARASS A REGULAR CUSTOMER WHO'S PREGNANT AND DUE IN TWO MONTHS, THEN YOU CAN TAKE THE TIME TO ANSWER MY QUESTION, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO DISMISS ME ...

Me and my certified service dog were in the store checking out after spending several minutes shopping peacefully. A small child and the mother asked to pet my dog and my dog was playing in and letting the boy pet her and the mother and I carried out a conversation about her dog and the child’s dog. I had other workers stop and pet her and enjoyed her presence. She’s been trained since she was six weeks old and working to be a police dog as well in the summer both staff and customers alike enjoyed her presence. As we were trying to leave the store, Kim S is what it said on her name tag stood in between us and the door telling me that my dog is not a service dog over and over and over saying we were not allowed to be here (as we were trying to leave?? And would have already been on our way out the door had she not stood there making a disgusting scene).and that she cannot be in the store as first of all we were trying to leave and second of all insisting she wanted the documentation which I was happy to provide for her. The woman felt the need to take time out of her day and her shift to make a scene in the middle of the store, where other employees and customers alike were shocked and taken aback at her behavior. We were on our way out the door when she argued with me and told me repeatedly that my dog is not a service dog to which I replied I don’t know how many years you spent on your degree , but the group of people that spent a decade plus getting their degree and certified her at age one year with a precertification at six months old would argue her facts of what a service dog should look like. Her ignorance is a apawlling. Her behavior is worse. She has no right to speak about my physical ailments or my medical conditions that require me the use of a service dog. Making me feel like the store does not welcome people with , any form of handicapped or medical requirements. Her behavior is unacceptable and needs to be rectified not only is it not her place to dictate what dogs are certified and what dogs are not beyond a customer stating that the dog is a service dog, and being more than happy to provide the documentation regardless of the fact that her battling me to the point of extreme humiliation in front of customers and employees, I should not need to leave this review and remind workers it’s never ok to ask for documentation! It’s a betrayal of our privacy rights and further more just disgusting, regardless I am happy to do so but if Safeway does t train their employees to know proper protocol for privacy and medical conditions/ needs I would only ask in return. She shows me her documentation, stating that her employers at Safeway and Kroger stand behind this type of behavior and treatment toward their customers. I have been shopping here since I was six years old. I am 38 years old now. I was here when the store was first built. I have never once in my life, experienced such a disgusting display of human toward human behavior. Least of all in a professional space. I would hope that an education be in order for this woman has no right to demean or undermine or humiliate customers on their way out of a store unnecessarily??? The requirements of the customers needs medical needs or disabilities should be of not a single staffs concerns beyond accommodation for such needsAnd furthermore, if she would like to, she should join the ranks of the people that spent several decades, studying and working hard for a college degree tk certify such canines; not taking a job that 16 year olds are with no education and experience is needed (I guess you get what you pay for Safeway…

This one of the better laid out Safeway I've been into. Items are seemingly easy to find at this location. The deli is great!

The store is understaffed and only has self-checkout. I will not return to a Safeway again!!

I was harassed by Gary and Lisa for shopping with my reusable Safeway bags! It was truly ridiculous.I was making my way through the store, adding and removing some items (as I am budget-shopping like most people in this economy) when Gary signaled to me to come over to him with a finger close to his face like I was some petulant child. He began to explain their bag policy in the most patronizing tone. Although I was happy to comply, they seemed unable to ask politely or without a very condescending attitude - they continued to speak to me in a way that implied I was guilty of something or imminently about to commit a crime. It was embarrassing to happen to me in my community grocery store among my neighbors. I was 100% stereotyped for how I look and that is wrong, I hope Safeway management does something about this, but I imagine Lisa the Manager is far up enough to minimize thisWhen I challeneged them about this policy, they were indignant and Gary continued to advance on me and stay uncomfortably close to my face while smirking and saying snide things. When I tried to amicably end the conversation and continue towards getting a basket by calling him "buddy", he snapped back - "you don't have a buddy here".Apparently I don't Gary, apparently I don't.

Safeway is pretty good but is a bit higher priced than other stores but you can get rewards and benefits from there. The selection of products are decent. They have good deli options most of the time but they are expensive. The workers are usually decent and respectful.
