I had an outstanding experience with Smart Service Auto Repair! I needed the timing belt replaced on my Acura MDX and from the moment I spoke with them on the phone, I was impressed by their professionalism and transparency. Tom and the entire team were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the services they were going to perform, the estimated cost of repairs and recommended additional ones without any pressure. It's rare to find an auto repair shop that combines such expertise with genuine customer care. I highly recommend Smart Service Auto Repair for anyone seeking top-notch automotive service!

I brought my Outback to Smart Service for years. Twice I came in with my check engine light on, and they did an oil switching valve replacement each time. Then they said it needs a ring job costing $6,000 - even though the engine only had 130,000 miles on it. They ruined my engine. Avoid.

We owned two Honda CR-Vs and always got repairs done at Klein Honda. But Klein had a 3-week wait for an appointment, so we tried Smart Service for the first time. We got a same-day appointment!!! We took in "Old Grey," our 2006 CR-V with 229,000 miles to the Mukilteo location to see if it made sense for us to invest in essential safety-related repairs. They did a complete inspection, told us what it needed and broke down the costs. Manager Tom Hoag talked with us for a long time, he was so knowledgeable and patient and smart. Ultimately we elected to sell it on Craigslist. Tom recommended an asking price and gave us a range of what the right buyer would pay. He was spot-on and we sold it an hour after listing it. (We shared the Smart Service inspection report and all repair records with the buyer.) We plan to take our 2006 CR-V to Smart Service from now on. We were so impressed with their honesty, communications, speed and expertise. Tom Hoag provided an old-fashioned level of customer service that has become a rarity. We are grateful!

If you own a Honda, Subaru or Toyota this is the shop to rely on. Trust is everything in this industry. Tom knows my older model SUV as if it were his own. He coordinates the details to keep me on the road and street legal. His maturity also translates to his level of experience. Everyone at Mukilteo Smart Service is cordial and helpful. But Tom has that extra little spark! The repairs have always been reflective of the estimates provided. And if there were any problems Smart Service stands behind their work. Prices are competative and the work is skillful. A talented garage crew. Dealing with this shop gives me peace of mind. A big shout out and a hearty thank you to a top-notch business.

These guys are great! I would recommend them to anyone. I feel confident that my car is well taken care of and reliable thanks to them. If they have to keep your car they have loaners. If they can't help you with brands they don't service, they will recommend another company. I'm so glad my friend sent me here!

AMAZING service and wonderful work! They give you a loaner if they need to work on your car for a day, so you're not out of a ride while yours is getting fixed. They're super helpful and kind, definitely trustworthy guys! They made sure to check with me that the most important issues were being addressed first so I can have a safe car, and they didn't push the other recommendations on me like I'm used to. My head gasket was bad and i Brought it here. There were more expensive than most places but they offered a 3 year warranty on my head jacket so I figured it was worth the extra money. Fast forward a year later, my car started overheating, and I brought it here because of They're warranties. They said i needed to replace all of the hoses. My brother, also a mechanic, said that sounds like a shot in the dark. His point was why ALL hoses. He had a good point but I didn't listen. I paid over a thousand dollars for them to replace all the hoses. I drive the car off, and it overheats again. I drive it right back here, and they spend 3 days With my car and and determine determined that the heater core is clogged. They wanted to charge me another $1,700!They also said that because I drove the car and it overheated I Avoided my warranty on my headgasket. HOW IS THAT POSSOBLE??!! I HAVE YOU $1000 TO FIX MY CAR AMD IT WASNT FIXED!!!!! I asked them if they can take some of the labor cost off because of the fact that I've already given them a $1000 to fix the issue and it's not fixed. They refused that offer. I took the car to my brother And he discovered that a sensor was bad. He changed the sensor and I've had no problems since. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! See you crooks in court!

We have been bringing our Subarus here for a few years now. Always great service, they always go above and beyond and are very patient answering any questions, which is always great. Very reasonably priced for work that should be done and they don't upsell like the dealerships do, for work that can wait a bit. Very trust-worthy, which can be hard to find sometimes with repair shops, but these guys are top notch. Highly recommend to anyone with a Subaru! Also, LOVE the email report with a rundown of work done and things they've found, complete with pictures of the area on the car.

Over the past 25 years I've owned 3 Subarus, and have taken all of them to Smart Service in Shoreline for 20 years. I trust them to provide thorough, careful service and repairs, to keep my cars reliable (I keep my cars for a long time) and to charge a fair price. As a single woman for most of these years who doesn't know a lot about cars, it was especially important to me to have mechanics I could trust, who explained things well and who didn't try to talk down to me or take advantage of my relative ignorance. Mike and everyone I've interacted with at Smart Service are always professional, friendly, and communicative. They are also good about being clear about when I can wait to take care of an issue vs. something that is more urgent. In 20 years they've never messed anything up or broken anything and I always feel I can count on my car to be reliable and running well after service or repair. They usually leave it sparkling clean too. I discovered Smart Service in 2001 when my 1996 Impreza needed a transmission-related repair. My then-mechanic quoted me a prohibitively expensive price and I somehow found Smart Service, who did the repair for about $400-500 less than what my previous mechanic was going to charge. I've been a loyal customer ever since and won't take my cars anywhere else.

I went to mukilteo location and had Jess as my supervisor of repairs. She is the best at customer service... something that seems to be a lost art these days. BUT not with Jess. She is so knowledgeable about cars, and has the gift of explaining to those like me who are not car savvy. The company looked over my car , sent me an estimate with photos supplied to show each area in need. Thats impressive and helpful and creates trustworthiness. I am satisfied with the work done. I have no intention of going back to Subaru dealer in shoreline. I am now a committed customer to Smart Service

I wouldn't trust my Suby to ANYONE but Smart. They are super friendly, they KNOW Subarus, their prices are fair, and know I will never be taken advantage of. They never try to upsell and they explain everything succinctly. In 1999 I purchased a 2000 Impreza and always went to Smart for maintenance. That car just died this year! Over those years I had moved to Marysville and Smart wasn't convenient for me. But upon return to the area, I quickly returned. At one point, I was agonizing over getting a new car (the Impreza was 16 at the time), and being a single mom, I asked Mike (the owner) what would you tell your mom? He told me the pros and cons of fixing the 2000 and purchasing a newer model. Smart kept that car going another 4 years with only one major tune-up. This year I was in a better financial position to purchase. I appreciated Mike's input and care for me as a person and not just a car owner. You can't go wrong with Smart!

My experience has been exactly what the owner said they wanted to be "fair pricing, impeccable workmanship and personal customer care" I have truly experienced that consistently the past 5 years, with auto repair done for two of our cars at Smart Service. I feel so lucky that we also live in Mukilteo and to have a Smart Service so close. All of our cars are 15 yrs old and Smart Service just keep them running! The staff at Mukilteo location are very knowledge, even for other Japanese cars. I am so grateful to have a place that I can trust and does good work, not over charge me! Give them a try, you will not regret!
