I lived there for a few months and it was cockroach infested. There were a lot of tiny ones but also quite a few that were as big as a fingernail. Not to add it always smelled like marijuana.

Maintenance team does a good job responding.I've never seen or met any of the management here, even when I moved in months ago, which was a bit frustrating at first trying to reach them and all. so I don't have much input there about them. The negative reviews on here written about their move in process and dealing with things.. I can understand after having to go through it as well, but it wasn't as severe as their experience.Just wanted to make it known that a lot of people here don't pick up after their dogs. At the top of the parking lot, at the very end there's just a mass piles all over the grassy area that you can't even walk through and it's been there for months, and kind of all over the complex really. Tsk tsk.Just know if I see someone not picking up after their dog, I'm making them known. A picture of them and their unit posted.

Excellent management and maintenance. I really love the apartments and the location. Well maintained and clean. The customer care also listens and responds in a very timely manner. Swimming pool, indoor basketball court and the gym are always well maintained. The maintenance man, Tony is very helpful and a nice guy. Could be more happy. Thankyou guys ! Keep the great work going!

Tony Chung at castle creek is kind and always comes whenever we need help. We got locked out and he came right away even when it's late in the day.

Thank you, Tony, for quick response and help when there was an emergency situation with the hot water tank in the bathroom. Very professional, helpful!

My whole experience with Castle Creek has been a nightmare. First, I didn’t hear anything about moving in and getting the keys on my move-in day. I even emailed them two days before and didn’t get a reply until AFTER I moved in. I was only able to get the keys because I flagged down Thuy (the very kind maintenance guy) in the parking lot. I got the keys only ten minutes before the movers arrived! Then there’s the actual apartment. I initially looked at the unit above and it was beautiful: clean, renovated, new appliances, plenty of storage. But I asked to rent the unit below and was told it would be the exact same. It wasn’t. This apartment was not cleaned, everything was old, the dryer is as old as I am, very little storage, and it smelled awful. There was even DOG P*** left on the patio! I couldn’t even stay there after I moved in - I crashed at my parents’ house and in a hotel until I was able to move out.Now I’m stuck in yet another nightmare. I’m trying to get my money back and THEY DON’T CALL BACK. I’ve tried email too - NOTHING. The initial phone conversations I had with them to complain, they were so rude!! My conversations with Jessica were particularly snarky and cold. Helen said they would give me a full refund and that has yet to happen, even though I moved out days ago. And, after I said I was moving out, they STOLE my mail (including two packages). This response (or lack there of) is disgusting and reprehensible. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

I had high hopes when I moved here and have been nothing but disappointed. To begin this campus only had digital locks and will not allow you to request a normal one unless you say you are disabled. Second expect to be charged fees for things even when you do nothing wrong. I had insurance on this property when I started my lease and provided documentation to them numerous times. Yet they still charged me for their own personal insurance. When I finally gave them proof of my coverage a fourth time they stopped charging me for the service but never removed my old charges. Finally the biggest disappointment is their crazy high sewage pricing. I am used to paying more for sewage but I have never had to pay roughly 3 dollars on sewage for every one dollar I spend on water. I have reached out to the office staff numerous times over the last two weeks to try and get an answer on this but now it seems clear they just want to wait till the end of the month when I will be forced to pay this bill with no explanation on why its this high. You should check out apartments around them until Essex gets this property in better shape. They could easily charge for sewage based on water consumption if they wanted and they could at a bare minimum show a customer the math that indicates why the bill is so high.

I'm so sick of this place. When we moved in the manager was kind and patient who at least pretended to care about our safety. Since she left there has been nothing but apathy. My car got broken into and I had to contact them multiple times to pay over $100 for a garage then my partner had to call. The solution is to send someone with a flashing light out at 10pm. I have been woken up by the upstairs neighbors multiple times, I let the office know and nothing happens. [edit: after multiple asks, it seems the neighbors are trying to quiet down after hours.] Year after year Im woken up by the sprinklers in front of the building at 4am, again I have asked them to shift the schedule. The rent goes up by at least 5% every year. Our ceiling was leaking for a week because the upstairs neighbors wouldn't load their laundry correctly. The asphalt was redone for some reason and now it's patchy. Residents don't know how to drive down the parking lot and will speed and cut blind corners and take up both lanes. All the office does is occasionally send reminder emails. The dishwasher and washer/dryer are the cheapest possible. Overprice and underdeliver as essex always does and forces you to rent perpetually. The handyman is nice, but one of them quit on the spot so he probably was also fed up with this complex. The workout room is so small only 1 other person makes it feel cramped. There's probably more that doesn't come to mind at the moment. I know you can't please everyone and the employees are probably burned out and underpaid. Essex exploits everyone involved.

Given the suffering their management has caused me and my partner, in all honesty, I would have given them a negative rating, but Google does not permit it :(On February 1, 23, my partner and I submitted an application for a 1 bedroom apartment with a February 28 move-in date. We sent them all the paperwork that the management required for signing the lease and they did claim that there was no problem with our application (things like background checks etc.). However, we never received the apartment lease to sign. When we contacted them on February 10, they informed us that the apartment was under renovation and that they need to reset move in between March 15 and March 20, never gave us a fixed date though. We therefore made the decision to extend our lease in our current apartment until March 18. We repeatedly contacted them in the interim to inquire about the move-in date but always received a response stating that the remodeling was still ongoing. If an apartment is going to be renovated, I don't understand why it should still be offered. In addition, the administration has absolutely no idea of when the renovation will be finished. Does it make more sense to put the apartment on the market once it is ready?? Seems like a simple logic to me.Well, we received a call from the management on February 28, 2023 (our real move-in date when we applied for the apartment) alerting us that the apartment would no longer be available in March. Instead, they need to move the move-in date to April but never gave us a fixed move-in date.Management is now attempting to sell us three options after causing this enormous catastrophe. According to them, these options are their attempt to make the mess, that they themselves created, better -1. Forfeit the apartment application. They will be refunding our "full application fee". (Such a wonderful choice for us, yay. We are essentially back to square one for hunting apartments.)2. They have another apartment available for a 12-month lease at a significantly higher price. In terms of rent or lease length, management is unwilling to negotiate. (Our first apartment had an 11-month contract and substantially lower rent.)3. Wait till April to move into our current flat. Yet, they are hesitant to offer a specific move-in date. They warned us that the renovation can take longer than expected and said they couldn't yet predict a move-in date.(Don't know where will we live from Mar'18 to I don't know when in April or maybe May)Hence, they essentially want to do nothing to improve the situation that they themselves brought about. Despite the fact that this is all their fault, they are not willing to negotiate on any conditions. We now have no choice but to withdraw our application and start looking for apartments again. We looked for an apartment in January, but we'll need to look again in March when rentals will be higher. We are quite worn out, discouraged, and frustrated. This is having a negative financial, emotional, and physical impact on us.First of all, we want to make it clear to the Castle Creek management that WE DON'T WANT YOUR APOLOGY. It's so easy for you to apologize as it is not affecting you at all. You can just simply carry on and ruin other people's life, repeating the cycle again and time again. Instead, we prefer ownership, but the choices you are presenting to us are in no way useful. One of the least competent, unprofessional, and unskilled apartment managements we have come across. They are merely TERRIBLE

My car along with a dozen more were broken into on this property. I've seen emails from the property management informing residents but it didn't affect me at the time until now. It was a petty crime too in that they didn't steal anything of value. Just annoying really. This place used to be nice but is now ghetto. If people have been breaking into cars for what seems like months now you'd think they'd patrol better.

When the pandemic began and the garbage overflowed due to more people staying home more often, the residents started to care less and less about their role in upkeeping the grounds. Old drinks, food, and other garbage were left in the stairwells, cars started to be broken into on the street, and eventually management decided to no longer be on site. Now, cars are broken into on the lot, garbage flows into the driveway before pickup days, packages are consistently stolen, a broken elliptical remains in the workout room for months, and the pool is not clean. It's a fine complex, just in an unfortunate downward spiral in quality. They've turned around before but unfortunately, I don't think these issues can fully be solved by management.Joe.

Good location, but if you’re renting anything but the top 4th floor, good luck with the noise above you. We rented a 3rd floor briefly, the sound was horrendous from running and jumping kids on floor above. They did move us to the 4th floor, but be warned. Carl asked me not to write a review, but it’s been a awhile now and he was let go.
