I think the service was excellent. The movers were incredibly professional, friendly, and fast. They were gentle with our belongings, asked questions instead of making assumptions, and really treated us with respect. They also moved our safe, which originally, we were told they couldn't do. It took a huge weight off our shoulders (literally!) I couldn't have asked for a better crew.

We recently completed a move from Washington to California with Hansen Bros. and Allied (as interstate carrier). It was a DISASTER from start to finish. The Hansen Bros. estimator walked through our house very quickly, tapping rapidly on his iPad. There were several back-and-forth discussions with the estimator and two other visits. In the end, we paid an additional $2K for boxes that needed to be delivered on site the day of the pack - and they had to call for extra crew because the estimate was so far off, despite my husband actively assisting with the packing and loading. The delivery, however, sunk to a new level of incompetence.After no communication despite repeated calls, the crew finally arrived over 3 hours late (and a block away from our address).When Allied starting unloading (after 2 PM), two of the movers were nearly physically incapable of climbing stairs, let alone carrying something up one flight of stairs. The 1st man (in his 60's) recently had knee surgery and was wearing a knee brace. He was unable to kneel down to even tape the floor runners. Within an hour he said that he "came back to work too soon" and stayed in/near the truck for the remainder of the day. A 2nd man also had (I assume) a knee/leg issue, as he dragged his leg significantly. He also shared that he was the brother-in-law of the first man, this was his first time moving, and he had received no training. He admitted that he was there only because he'd heard about a day job from his brother-in-law. Within the 1st hour, my husband and I started shuttling boxes from the truck because we could see how long it was taking. My husband was on one end of every piece of furniture that went up the stairs: 2 dressers, 2 desks, one queen mattress, one king mattress, two bookshelves and four box springs.What was most heartbreaking was the lack of proper packing materials and how poorly items were secured in the truck. Items such as an 18th century French chair were covered with one blanket. Several chairs had broken legs, cracked seats and much of the furniture had massive gouges and scratches. As the broken furniture began to pile up, the crew lead said that it was the fault of the Hansen Bros. Newcastle warehouse. He said, "they must have a new crew, this is SO bad, I've never seen a move this bad".Additionally, the following damage occurred to our home:* dropped a dresser and cracked the bottom stair * repeatedly hit the stairwell ceiling* broke an exterior landscape light (a mover stepped on it) * carrier left the site with our mattress, though the crew did return with it the next day As we were attempting to complete the inventory at the end of the night (they left at 10 PM), the crew leader apologized for the chaos and all the broken items. He then said that he should have STOPPED THE UNLOAD when he realized that two of the three men were incapable of carrying anything.I was born and raised in Seattle and when we interviewed movers, we chose Hansen Bros. because of their reputation. We were truly saddened and shocked at how poorly this move was executed, the unprofessionalism, and the demonstrated negligence with our personal property.I would strongly and sincerely encourage you not to use Hansen Bros., for your moving needs.

Made an appointment with the quote team 2 weeks earlier and they did not show up at their appointment time. The called only to lie about call times and appointment times. Excuses from Paula and she was rude to me on the phone. If they can show up to an appointment, how would they handle our move out of state? I have done business with Hanson Brothers before but never again. We are very disappointed in Hanson Brothers with the circular arguing and rudeness of Paula. Shop around, another company has been scheduled to come out later today. Highly NOT recommended to others.

Working with Hansen for our move from Seattle to Buffalo was a mistake. Our stuff has finally arrived, over 3 weeks past the end of the promised window. After having a wonderful experience moving with them across town in Seattle in 2019, we figured they were worth the additional cost quoted in comparison to directly working with their transcontinental partner, Allied. The first warning should have been that the quote was made on Allied printed materials. Salesperson was ok, although we were never warned about the upcoming situation of which they were obviously aware. Move was picked up on time by a fairly unprofessional crew that took breaks every 15 minutes and didn't bring the mattress bags we requested (they promised us this would be remedied as soon as they got to the holding facility- that never happened). Still no warning from the Hansen team of what was to come. The next day, we received a call saying that our transcontinental driver had backed out and they were going to store our stuff and find another driver. The following 5 weeks until the move was packed onto a different van line (we were never informed that our move had been sold to someone else to complete it) consisted of numerous calls to several different customer service reps. When we were fortunate enough to catch them at a time when they weren't "in meetings all day" (having repeatedly failed to follow through on promises to call us back), they offered a laundry list of excuses that I don't care to waste your time detailing, dear yelp reader. Suffice it to say that they weren't able to do much because they had to wait on Allied (direct calls to Allied were also basically a waste of time- I will leave a separate review for them). It was clear that they weren't losing any sleep over our family's dilemma, including needing to push a work start date back a few times. No complaints about the line to which our move was sold (North American). Once they had our stuff they came quickly and exactly when they said it would. A few items broken and a layer of dust (probably not their fault).

The packers at our home in Newcastle, Hansen Bros. employees were great. They worked until 10:00pm the last night to get everything in a container. We were told it had to go by rail because they had no truck driver to take it across country to Florida. Now the nightmare begins.We were told our belongings would arrive between April 28 to May 3, they took the container away on April 22. It is now May 10th and still nothing. No one from Hansen Bros bothered to call and tell me anything. I am the one who has had to make calls to try and get answers. The only answer early on, was “I don’t know.” Well, find out??The most responsive people have been the receiving agents in Jacksonville, some 1.5 hours away.I am beyond frustrated and furious with the way this has been handled. A rep for Hansen Bros finally admitted that this has gone completely poorly (an understatement) from the beginning. This doesn’t help me, because I sit here wih no belongings, other than those I had to buy,Would never ever use this company again. The final review will come when our belongings arrive, hopefully all in one piece as this container has been moved and bumped and mishandled from the beginning. Not holding out hope...This is one of the true moving company nightmare stories.

This is the second time we used Hansen Bros. Moving & Storage to store our items during a remodel. The head crewman was the same individual for both packing up & returning our items on our latest storage. I was impressed; since, the storage was one year. Longevity of employees says a lot about the company. The crew was very thorough in placing our furniture exactly where we needed the large sofa. There was no damage in either long term storage. The monthly fees where reasonable & payment automatic.

From start to finish, my interaction w/ Hanson Bros was stellar. The salesperson made my life so easy -- providing information, answering questions, and even letting me change the date once with ease. Once the 3 movers arrived, they were friendly, speedy, and careful w/ all of my belongings. Hansen Bros made this a stress free experience and I really appreciated that. Thank you, thank you.

As a self storage facility I see a lot of moving companies-some are bad and some are good. Hansen Bros. is great. They are professional, work with their customers (often my tenants) and are endlessly patient. If you need a great moving company that does the job, I recommend Hansen Bros.

Attempted to get clear explanations on a certain issue and representative was short and rude. Was transfered to the manager whom was equally non responsive and rude due to trying to get some intel on the issue at hand. Proceeded to tell me i was arguing when all i wanted was an explanation of their services.

Brad (Schuster) was the 1st moving and storage professional we spoke with who actually was willing to come to our home to view our belongings and the challenging parking area around our condo. He educated us, provided a contract quickly once we decided, and gave us a date. We asked for an earlier date if they had a cancellation, and it worked-we met with Brad on Tues and were able to move that Fri! George called exactly when Brad said he would, and Art, Ross, Ronald, Adam, and William were awesome! They were punctual, extremely careful with our furniture and belongings, asking questions and wrapping everything in blankets or shrink-wrap, depending on fragility, They were fast, focused and professional, answered all of our questions and we felt comfortable trusting them with everything. We would definitely request their services again, and are pleased to recommend them to others.

This company has been moving my extended family for decades. This was my first professional move and I couldn't be happier with the whole process! The movers were prompt and flexible and kind, and very patient with us! We were a little frazzled and dealing with a stressful move along with a nervous dog - the movers were amazing. If/when we move again I'll plan to save up and use Hansen Bros. again.
