My local store point I don't know why, but I always choose to go here over QFC. Just feels comfortable and I like their options. They have a good deli, great breads, easy pharmacy, and meat and seafood counter has lots of options. The staff has also worked here for so many years. They're always happy and smiley and helpful. I've been in the Newcastle area for about 18 years.

I've been coming here to this Safeway for a few months now. It's not the closes one to me. There's actually another Safeway 2 blocks from my house. I come to this one because I love the customer service I get. Especially from the liquor manager DJ. He's such a cool guy. Always has a big smile on his face and has something nice to say always. He reminds me of The Rock!! Not kidding! You guys go check him out and see for yourself. The smile and the muscles. Thanks DJ for the great service.

God forbid you need to buy any alcohol, you will wait forever. If you cannot provide the service to unlock the shelves then leave them open. Poorest service ever.

this pharmacy is terrible. Don't waste your time trying to get your flu or covid vaccine here. after making an appointment online, I showed up early then waited in line for 20 minutes to check in and was directed to a room about the size of a very small bedroom. Inside two people were waiting , then another person and another. When it was finally my turn, there were seven people waiting in this small room, some without masks. If this is not a recipe for a Covid outbreak, I don know what would be. You are gathering multiple people in a small room for 20 minutes without social distance or masks. I won't even get into how screwed up your reservation system is, I'll just say I didn't get the flu shot or Covid vaccine I had requested. I will refer this situation to the King County Health Department

This Safeway at Coal Creek certainly has a lot hard working dedicated workers. Especially Steve, the store manager. He is always positive and professional and makes the store feel very inviting. He had to step in to make sure I received proper help from the floral department the other day. The floral dept staff was surprisingly bad. The gentleman there was not helpful and kept trying to make me feel bad that he was helping me while the main florist was on a break. When I asked for help, on just simply putting an arrangement into a vase he told me to buy a pre-made arrangement that was not what I wanted. I think he also tried to make me feel like he could not understand my request even though it was basic. So weird, over just a simple task. Plus, the pre made arrangements in the cooler section looked old and drying out. Totally off putting and unprofessional. That department could really thrive with better more courteous staffing.

I lost my credit card here went in the store asked if anyone has turned it in or found it, the lady who answered me was very rude and dismissive I'm looking around while the lady just stands there, so after I'm done looking I leave and decided to call I talked to the manager she would not let me get a word in telling me " do you understand" like I'm a child so I finally hung up because I couldn't get a word in then I call back to talk to the other manager and he flat out told me there's nothing he's gonna do. I work customer survive so I know what they could of done and what they chose not to do I'm very disappointed because I spend at least 400$ a week on groceries at this Safeway very dissatisfied and I feel utterly disrespected in the way I was spoke to.

I came in today on March 4, 2022 at at 4:40p on to get a covid shot for my son. The pharmacist on staff was named Pi. I will preface that the store was NOT busy. No lines and no others waiting for a covid shot. We waited 15 minutes and the pharmacist didn't show up, so I went to ask how much longer. After a few minutes, she came in. She was huffy and not in a good mood. She was RUDE and unfriendly!!! I said hi and she didn't say anything. Not even a "sorry, for the wait". When we left, she didn't say thank you or bye. If someone hates that their job that much, go find another one. If she's having a bad, day, don't make me have a bad day too. I suspect she was mad that I went back to ask how much longer the wait would be. Even my son noticed and said, she's not having a good day! Customer service is part of the job. If she doesn't like dealing with customers, I'm sure there will be another person right behind her for her job. This isn't the right way to leave an impression with me or any customer!!!!!! I have been going to that store for the last 30 years (Yes, I know Steve!) and it's my first time using that pharmacy. I will not be going back!!!!

The produce selection here is pretty good. The produce is always fresh and in abundance. The aisles are nicely stocked and organized. If you sign up for rewards, you can get some good sales. You can earn rewards for free items or money off your purchases. The employees are mostly friendly. Just don't ask anyone to do something out of their daily routine. I needed help getting something off the top shelf all the way in the back and asked the closest employee I could see for help. They told me I had to go to the customer service desk for help. I was stunned and shocked. However, I definitely have my favorite cashiers. You get to know who is nice and a friendly face pretty fast.

I just learned there's likely a good reason some cashiers are not on the register during the busy time. I had to pop in before 6am and the person who was helping to stock the shelves apparently "had to" ring me up did not even acknowledge my existence. I said good morning 3 times before they begrudgingly replied. No good morning from anyone there. Zero love from the person who checked me out. I wonder if they know it is the customer that keeps the place open and people employed. Spoiler alert: they do not. Thankfully I love the after 6am crew thus the 4 stars. I left laughing out loud at where grown folks are with their behaviors in a customer facing job. To anyone no longer in love with the public, maybe don't subject us to your angsty self.

Their pharmacy is terrible! I made an appointment for a vaccine shot and showed up 10 min early. The tech took my info, but then no one came to give me the shot at my appointment time, nor shortly after! I had to walk back to the counter 15 min past my appointment time to ask, WTF?

You can get 10% off your grocery bill when you get a vaccine! Lots of great depts bakery, deli with hot meals you can take home. Can always get great buys on cleaning needs too.

I find everything I need here. The staff can be friendlier but I have not had a negative experience to give lower star reviews. I know working at a grocery store can be demanding, low pay, and also customers can be rude too so it's not always good to blame the staff working because they may be having a tough day. This store has plenty of parking, clean inside and out and I never wait too long even on busy evenings to pay and get out. I like this store better than the one on Ranier. The one on Ranier kids come in to steal and no one cares they take boxes of beer. This safeway feels safe to go as a woman in the evening and night.

I still have my Safeway club card and needed to pick up bottles of water. When in Newcastle, it made sense to visit Safeway over the QFC located nearby. Staff weren't very welcoming after spending time looking over water selections and they were stocking next to me but not even asking if I needed any assistance. I saw major price reductions if I used my club card on certain brands which helped with my decision. The check out was pretty much drama free. At least I received a 'thank you' from the cashier when I left.

Long lines, no social distancing, no hand sanitizer anywhere, improper mask-wearing by staff, and just general filth and grime everywhere. This is not a safe place to go. Under the circumstances, the name seems funny. Should be Unsafeway.

Customer Service closed. Selling no Lotto tickets. Rude you see sign were closed. I guess I go somewhere else.
