Courtesy of the U.S. Navy, I spent considerable time in the Philippines in the 70's and 80's. I acquired a taste for their food and beer (domestic versions), as well as developing a respect and admiration for their people.
My two favorite foods there are lumpia, a deep-fried spring roll, and pancit, a noodle dish. Both are very hard to find here. Perla's is a mandatory stop when we visit Oak Harbor. Freshly-prepared food is available in the back. A small dining area is in the front of the store. A freezer is filled with various types of lumpia. My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch of lumpia and pancit, then purchased a large bag of frozen lumpia, to enjoy at home.
The women who operate the store are from career Navy families. The entire operation is very casual, with many regular customers. The building is the former location of Chris' Bakery, which moved to another location. Expect zero atmosphere, as the interior is very basic. The focus here is on the excellent food.
The store has a small parking lot.

Great market wide a wide selection of asian food/snacks. Love the homemade meals from the kitchen, especially the adobo! Reminds me of my grandmas, can't get enough. Dine in option as well! Highly recommend.

I agree with the post about this being a mom and pop shop making authentic, DELICIOUS filipino food! There was no pancit when I got there, but had fresh pancit cooked while we waited. I havent had fresh pancit in years. This was such a treat! Thank you Perlas!

I've been coming here since I was a kid. My mom and I would come here whenever we wanted a good hot meal. I always drive down here when I'm in town because it's that good.

Can't get enough of their Lumpia. Great prices for good food. Always find great things on the shelves, too, along with some staples. Call ahead if you have a big order, but they never take too long!

The MOST DELISH PAKSIW NA LECHON EVER!! Super friendly service, generous portions and big portion 2 item plate I had daing na boneless bangus with FANTASTIC PINAKBET! I will return again and again! Worth drive from Anacortes to Oak Harbor! Thank you ladies for a great experience! So good I drove back the same day for more to give my friend from Canada!

The Pork Adobo is absolutely delicious and the ladies who work here are extremely friendly. Prices are very generous considering the insane portions. I hope this place continues to get love because I've become addicted to it! I've only ever gone here for the food but it's also got a little market inside that's interesting to browse.

Good place to get products. One can also eat there or takeout from their Cafe food cooked fresh.
