The worst pharmacy to go to in Anacortes. The pharmacy manager is RUDE and doesn’t treat patients with respect. She talks over them and treats them as if they’re scum. I would not recommend this place to any older folks unless they want to get treated badly.

You all giving reviews need to make friends and build cordial relationships with Haggen and Safeway managers and employees… you would be amazed at the kindness and pleasantness of all these fine people!!!! You get what you give folks…. You also will see wicked and vileness if your perceevers are perceeving with the negative evil stink eye all the time!!!! Good luck reviewers…. Have a happy day and look for that glint of happiness in others eyes… it is there… it may take a smile and a very humble kind exchange on your part to pull that tiny glint of happiness sparkle out into the others full grinning happy glorious face!!!! Remember…. God doesn’t make Junk!!!!

The woman wearing the mask with the brown hair! The one working there on 4/4/25 has the worst attitude ever! and all I said to her was you don’t have to have an attitude with me because I asked her a simple question and she said there’s the door, multiple times! I was even being super polite! how freaking rude. And then the pharmacy Manager didn’t even check in on the situation. He just came over and shrugged his shoulders and was agreeing with her when he didn’t even know what was going on. Like are you kidding me? I’ve never had such unprofessionalism in my life. I’m 35 years old. I’ve never had this happen ever! I come to Safeway all the time and never had a problem. I do not recommend this pharmacy.

My prescription is always ready when I get the text from the automated system, and they're open until 9 on weekdays which is super convenient.
They've always answered any questions I've had, which i appreciate.

Offending service and rude interactions have left me feeling like this is the worst pharmacy on whidbey island. The lady working behind the counter was mean and cold to me, told me they didn’t have my prescription and didn’t care to help me get them reordered until I asked her 3 times. Instead, she belittled me for not being punctual enough, even though she has no clue about my situation. She rolled her eyes at me and while they said my prescription will be ready the next day, my gut tells me the corruption in the pharmacy will lead to me not getting my pills, the help I need, or any reason to come back.

Disrespectful never has the medicine on time. The younger technicians are nasty unprofessional but I guess that's how it is these days. I've decided to pay the extra money to join Blue Cross so I don't have to deal with those nasty people no more

It was nice of them to sit on a prescription for a very important medication for literally months before calling me to tell me they have no intention of filling the prescription.Don't hold your breath on trying to get medication ordered- they won't do you the courtesy of telling you they won't do it for months and even then, put it all on you instead of facing the music and calling the provider themselves.

Great staff grade people bands are all your questions I have never had a problem with them and if there's something on the shelf they normally come out and help me look for what I'm needing and if they don't have it they will tell me that they don't carry it they always give me a message when my medications are ready to be picked up yes I am very happy with Safeway pharmacy

Go literally anywhere else. So many problems with this place. Told over the phone that I can come pick up my medicines and that they're ready for me but come in and am told I can't have them, or that they just never got filled. This has happened 4 times over the course of 2 years; for medicines I need to stay alive as well. A couple of pharmacists here are very nice but one of them is so karen-like in the way they speak to you that it borders on unprofessional.

Always double check the price of your Rx at the Oak Harbor Safeway: they will do everything possible to force you to run your script through insurance, vs cash & a coupon. Yes.. coupons & cash will extend the time it takes to pay down your prescription deductible. However, if your lifesaving prescription costs $400 through insurance, but is only $25 via Good Rx? Well, then they need to offer BOTH OPTIONS to patients.
**Believe it or not, this Island has AT LEAST 50% of our (Non-Navy) residents below the poverty line. They/we are always facing possible homelessness &/or resettlement in another county. Facts. Google me for my credentials if you don't trust my maths & metrics.**
More importantly though: when pharmacy staff (Wendy) & manager (James) ban you & your family from filling your prescriptions for questioning these practices? Then once again, there is a fundamental problem with the ENTIRE establishment. Doctors & pharmacies are a COMMUNITY SERVICE & "continuity of care" is a crucial (and legal) retirement in a small county.
For the other department managers at Safeway: if you subscribe to the logic that "a rising tide raises all boats in the harbor", then you must also assume that "a sinking ship brings us down with it". Stand up for your store, your customers, your town; speak up! When there's a batch of bad apples in produce, do you sell it or try again? When a butcher can't provide clean, quality cuts, do they get a raise? When a courtesy clerk gets complaints for not being "cheery", do THEY get the same benefit-of-the-doubt that Pharmacy Manager James does? Or do they get written up & written off?
Because, uh.. I remember how I was treated when I was "just a boxboy", back in the day [before current staff]! Because we are expendable right? "A dime a dozen." Are we being fair across the board when it comes to holding employees to the same standard, Store Manager Jason? It doesn't look like it. As far as optics go anyway.
//~~~FWIW: this is not a complaint regarding regarding narcotic Rx fills. NOT THAT THIS SHOULD MATTER! We are talking antidepressants & asthma medications. We're discussing elderly folk with COPD, heart disease, & cancer. Working class Men & women that are your neighbors & civic leaders, Volunteers, & teachers.~~~\\
This is a difficult time & staffing is a challenge right now. I get it. I'm a local employer with 15+ years writing paychecks to my fellow Islanders. But when you're the manager & certain pharmacy staff members are quite literally a LEGAL & LETHAL DANGER to the community? My friend, it is then time to face the music, & force a change. For your neighbors. ALLEGEDLY, & of course..in my humble opinion:)
