I have always thought the owners were nice people and I always want to support local business. But I have experienced them charging more for products that the tax has been prepaid for by the selling company and then charging more than the state tax on top of that. Today I said something about it and they refused to sell me the product even though I agreed to pay the illegal tax they were charging. No longer a fan of the Frog Pond. I will gladly give my money to any other store. At least the rest in my area are honest.

It’s convenient up until the point where they won’t let you use a debit card unless you spend 7$ minimum. Completely ridiculous and just bad a business practice.

This is my favorite little grocery in town. The owner is great. Aways has a smile on his face and is more then willing to help you if you need it. He'll even place an order for you if it's something he can get if from his vendor. I asked him for a particular flavor of ice cream and it was there within a week. I go there almost daily. If you're in the area and you happen to stumble across I suggest you go in and say hello.

Love taking my kids on evening walks to get a treat from frog pond. Just make sure you check the expiration date of whatever you're buying. It should go without saying that the prices here are going to be above-average. That is what you are getting for the convenience of it. If you'd rather not support a small business, take your butt further up the street and go to Safeway.

I have stopped by this place whenever in the neighborhood and need for 20+ years. It used to be that cute green store with the frog sign up front with owners what seemed connected to the neighborhood. It is now just an overpriced, impersonal mess. I would suggest going elsewhere unless you like supporting expired food and other super overpriced items. BTW, should be Frog Pond convenience store not grocery.

A staple when we lived in South Capitol. When my SO would work from home, he would walk over and get us a couple of drinks and chips a couple of times a week. We recently moved back to the state and anytime we are in Oly, we stop in. The first time we came back after 2 years, the owner immediately recognized my SO. We love our small Oly businesses, and this is one that should always be supported.

Should be referred to as a convenience store, not a grocery. $7 minimum for credit cards also. Low star is because I was expecting a grocery store. They sell the exact same stuff you’d find in a gas station aka convenience store.
