“This folksy store reminds me a lot of my time in Santa Fe, and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. It feels like a wonderland of handicrafts, all from different corners of the world but all made with a sense of care and artistry, combining individual creativity with a grounding in the history and culture of a particular community, a particular history with a particular series of techniques. I told the garrulous gal at the front that it felt like a colorful dream, and she smiled: it really does. Everything feels so whimsical, crafted with a sense of specificity and individual agency instead of the cheap, disposable products of a consumerist society that are everywhere these days. This is a very special space.”
“White shopping around town, duck into this great shop. They have so many different items for sale I can’t decide how to describe it. My particular favorite reason to visit is to purchase a new ornament for my tree in December, or to simply walk around admiring the variety of home and kitchen goods. Bonus if they have caramels at the counter - they are made it Vermont and don’t disappoint!”

“Sound and Vision Living is a real gem and our favorite Olympia place for design, inspiration, and a warm welcome! We discovered this shop soon after moving to Olympia, and Nicole, Dan, and Megan were quick to welcome us and get to know us--and we soon found ourselves looking for excuses to stop by and browse. Everything they sell has so much character and style, and it's just a happy place to visit. We decorated our living room and my video studio with midcentury modern furniture and perfect accents that helped make our house a home--and they're our go-to any time we need to shop for gifts. “What a wonderful experience this morning! We happened to need my extra big sneaker poster reframed and they were so helpful and nice! It was pricier due to the size but the process was easy and I even got to envision what it’d look like with sample corners of the frame! “2nd hand store, rock shop, unusual items. We stopped in on our way to Chicory and glad we did. My companion scored a lapidiolite which was missing from her collection. I found an antique German prayer card for a friend this Christmas. The big win was a silver marcasite pin. My companion is wearing today. If you are going antiquing, this should be one of your stops.”

“A friend of mine got me a beaded bracelet with charms and I'm in love. I've been in the store before but never really found anything that I really thought I needed to have. I love looking at all the different stuff they have though and I'm giving 5 stars because of the bracelet and the price. They're so reasonable and the bracelet is being worn daily and it's exceptionally well made. Love it!!!!”
“Ross is great. Love the prices!! Always something on sale there!!! Love that it has all types of merchandise there!! But waiting in line to wait on there one employee that's working by themselves gets quite frustrating at times. Usually sweet employees.”
“I had a great experience at this store last eve. With employee Kelvin as he was on the money with service and thoroughness. My refrigerator went kaput so we went to two nearby home depos with zero luck on buying one, then walmart no dice. We arrive at Lowes Olympia (60 miles from my home) at 940PM, the crew was already closing some doors and cleaning up the parking lot. We enter, go to the appliance dept and there are three good models. I flag down an employee with "customer service" on her vest, seems pretty smart, I ask her if she was a manager she says, I only have a week on the job, but she calls another guy who knew his stuff but says we only have 14 minutes and he checks the last floor model and volia there are three in stock. He takes off for parts unknown never to be seen again. Then Kelvin arrives, I show him the floor unit, he scans and goes to the stock area and he is moving with a purpose. I hear dollys a movin, he got it. He goes right to the nearest checkout comuter, I mention I am not interested in the extended warranty, he explains the 48hr return policy, he also stated regarding stand up vs laying down the fridge relative to a 24 hr wait. We complete the transaction. Kelvin very carefully manuvers the load to the front of the store, I bring the truck over and another employee helped get it on the truck. We're set. Kelvin definitely exhibited excellent customer service on a tight deadline, this made our experience at Lowes quite memorable and valuable.”
