Interstate Auto is a little south of town, and if you have a problem, they can fix it. Interstate's been in business for over 30 years and they know all cars, trucks, motorhomes - you name it. We have taken all our cars here for over 15 years. When you trust your vehicle to Interstate, they do a thorough job of running down the issue. While they may find more than you thought, they ALWAYS call and explain what they found. I would rather have a fully repaired car and peace of mind. They know their business!

Robert is knowledgeable, efficient, considerate, and a heck of a nice guy. He answered our distress call immediately. His mechanic, Matthew, did excellent work. It is such a relief to find such outstanding competence “close” to home. Robert is a rare individual who understands the P32 GM chassis on our 2000 motorhome. We highly recommend you contact Robert if you need work on autos or gas engine RVs.
October- second visit. Rob did an outstanding job tracking the “check engine” message. He is very careful and thorough. He knowledgeable track down the problem and he explained the process to us as he proceeded. Really happy with his expertise.
And “Steffen” is very knowledgeable about P-32 Chevy chassis also. They use only best quality replacement parts and charge a very reasonable price.

Got me out of a bind but would rather make a buck or leave you stranded.
If you take advantage of someone over a lug nut I can't imagine what you do to people that need actual repairs.
Needed a lug nut, gentlemen has an entire box of used ones on the shelf (as most shops do, this is why I stopped by instead of going to autozone) told me he has no idea what to charge me for 2 and charged me $15. An entire brand new set of 20 goes for $35 ($1.75ea), I tried to talk him down to $10 and he said no. $15 got me out of a bind BUT that's a lot to charge someone stranded for 2 lug nuts you have laying around....
There are card processing fees I get it and I didn't have cash but you could have charged me $5 or even said hey it's on the house they're spares anyways, let's get you back on the road.
Shops are difficult to trust nowadays and this to me is why.

It is wonderful to find mechanics who care! I got a flat tire near their shop. One of the mechanics drove by and saw me sitting on the side of the road. He went back to the shop, grabbed a floor Jack and tools and came back and changed my tire very quickly. His kindness was greatly appreciated. This service was provided with the full knowledge and approval of the owner. If this is the service they provide for a passerby, then I'm certainly going to use them for my future oil changes and auto maintenance.

While traveling back home from vacation our van over heated on the I-5. We looked up local repair places online.and due to their great reviews we called and were able to get a tow into their shop, repaired and were back on the road within a couple of hours. Robert and his crew were awesome! A+

They got to my truck right away and fixed the problem, and inspected it for any other potential issues. Considering the type of repair done it cost less than expected. The employees are kind and eager to help. I highly recommend this shop.

Beware! Do not trust the owner of the business to do you right- especially if you are a woman!!!
i took my beautiful classic muscle car to Interstate for a transmission leak- which was not repaired, and required additional work. Robert kept the car for Weeks and weeks. (over 10) every time I called about the vehicle he assured me it was fine, it was in dry storage. Clearly it was not -and when I picked up the vehicle the interior was soaking wet, full of mold and mildew and literally ruined. Headliner falling out , panels pulling loose. Owner does NOT care what damage is done! Robert will not step up and do the right thing and have his insurance company cover the repairs to my damaged vehicle. AND YES, I filed a claim with Haggerty- they will not cover this type of damage.
Horrible shop and horrible human being.
Do not take your car here if you care about it at all. I am leaving one star only because I have Leave something, Interstate Automotive doesn't even deserve one star.

I've know Robert since I was just a kid (16 years old) He has always been one of the best out there. I have since ran several automotive repair shops and he has been my go to, or a place I would refer someone to for tranny work. This guy will do anything for anyone, and will try his best to always help out. I will continue to refer customers to him that require his expertise. He is straight and to the point and does not sugar coat anything....Wouldn't it be great if the rest of the world was the same way.

I needed a seal pressed in and didn’t have the tools on hand. They were quick to get the job done with the right tools and got me on my way in just a few minutes. Will be returning soon for other auto work
