Parking lot not as full as it used to be. Definitely a new vibe at Island Market. I have switched to the gas station right next Island Market. I talked to the counter guy at the other gas station about what was going on with Island Market. He said that he hears it all week long that the workers are rude. I was there at 10 minutes to 11:am on a Saturday...nobody in the parking lot. I have gone there for 30 years, and it was always quite busy. Store workers are rude, and I am done with the place. But I did go in and ask them if they had read their reviews on the internet. I was told no...by someone at the counter. It is a community store and you do not want to lose the community. The West Side of Oly is to close with lots of stores and lower prices.Good Luck

They have changed hands recently, but I got to say they haven't changed the good service at all. It's always a pleasure to stop there when I need to. They could stay open a little later, but I don't penalize on my reviews for that. Great service and selection for a small community store

Horrible and deceitful pricing. Advertises gas for $5.39 but charges $5.89. Proves inside regularly ring up for more than advertised.

This is mostly about Tom. I worked there for 8 years. A lot of people know me, and never thanked me for what I did. I'm talking customers and the previous owner. You guys are so welcome for having me run the store. Selfish rude people in this area. Tom was a nice guy, but never paid me for what I did. I have a lot of job experience though, too much if you ask me. Singh is a nice guy too, but ALSO TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. But trust me people, I've been working there and buying groceries there for 8 years. Stop complaining about everything. Customers are too good for there own worth. Also not a safe area, I wanted to bring a gun to work on multiple occasions for safety purposes. Honestly not trying to make anyone look bad, it's good work experience, but nobody gets treated right here. I ran the whole place, if you can trust anyone it's me. Wish I had more to say, but seriously I'm just palm to face over this place.

I've been coming here for 20 years, for those of us at steamboat it's our grocery store and it's been great. The pizza was good and the staff friendly. But the new owners are letting it slip. They have the rudest employees up front. One guy will actually berate you for paying with change. They treat their customers like they're running a quick stop market in the city, not a local market. Unless they start treating their customers better, this place is going to just go downhill. I was standing in line while the guy fired an employee in training, in front of everyone, for doing pretty much nothing. The new chicken is good, but I'm not sure it is worth the icky feeling the new staff gives me. Two stars for a formerly five star market.

Neighbors beware. I purchased uncooked chicken and did not realize until I got home that tax was charged. Prices went up enough without adding the extra 10%. For years I never asked for a receipt from this Market, that changed today when I had an itch that something wasn't right. New owner, new employees so I will give three neutral stars for now. See how they act when I ask for my buck-fity back ?Otherwise a large selection for a small market. Prices are what you can expect. Worth the stop for convenience sake.

I have shopped here since I was a kid, as I recall it was Pat's Prairie Market, when we would drive from afar to go to our rural property here. Now I have lived here for almost twenty years, and have never, ever had a complaint about Island Market. AND they have accommodated my health concerns 100% since the pandemic, bringing my mail and packages out to my car for over a year now so I didn't have to go inside. CERTAINLY customer service of the highest consideration. Tom is a great guy, working hard to provide the community with all that he can, and his efforts are greatly appreciated! (And I love Jessica, Charles and now Kyla too!)

Great store. Not so great employees. Lack of any welcome or eye contact. The only employee even remotely friendly was a lady named Katie with dark hair pulled back. Another lady with very short hair was extremely rude. I felt like I was doing something wrong by being there. ! I value competence more than friendliness but, I mean...come on. Thanks Katie for making 3 out of 5 visits a good experience.

Would get 5 stars but only a few of the employees are welcoming or nice. A girl named Katie is always friendly. A girl with short short hair is not. Not even a little. Does the short haired lady own the store? If so, that's a bad way to run your business lady. I do shop there but I try to time it when the blonde or Katie is working.

My name is Suzanne and I moved to Steamboat a few years back, and try to shop here instead of Safeway for my short trips and etc. to help out local businesses. I hate to give this store such a bad review, but this is not because of the store itself. It is due to one employee specifically. I know her name, but I don't want to put it out because I care about the employees future employment. Starts with a K or C. Had hair pulled back in a pony, was darker in color. Anywho, this employee is always soo rude!!!!! I can't believe she still has a job there!!!!!! The way she talked to me, and the customer in front like we had no business there. The cutoff for me was one time a few weeks ago when I was shopping and she passed by me in the front area, and smelt of some smoke of the umm....ya that kind. Husband uses for sleep so I know the nature. Must of came in from a break of some sort but I watched her go behind the counter like nothing, really???? I created a Yelp account so I could hopefully get to the manager here, which I am guessing is the elderly man in the morning I have got my gas from. Defintely not trying to get this business in any trouble, but because of how rude I felt this employee was to me, I dont feel comfortable calling talking to any employees to leave a message, or letting the man in the morning know if he is the manager because other employees could here me noting my complaint. I need to know my privacy is kept 100% when I live so locally and do not have much options for shopping since Covid-19. How unsafe of this employee. The owner must not know, because I called to return an item once and they understood no problem. I have no doubt the manager is doing what they need to do. Very clean store, and always very well stocked. I am extremely disappointed in people like this letting a great business down. Almost every other employee has given me great service. Even tried a slice of pizza my step son brought home, and would say is excellent. Only thing I could add is wish this store had better employees otherwise than. I wont quit shopping here though, great store. The elderly man in the morning is very polite, and had another woman wait on me early one Sunday, short hair, she was very polite as well. Wish the paper was more consistent lately, not even at home. Sent the hubby in for a New York and was none. They told him they have been struggling to find a delivery carrier.

Small little local grocery store. Very friendly service.
