A bit pricier than a major chain store, but selection, helpful staff, licensing, post office and some classy extra products !

Ralph's has the most delightful gift and flower section in the area. Their shelves are always well stocked, meat and produce fresh, and items not common to the more sterile grocery stores. Their pharmacy is helpful and efficient and their postal and vehicle licensing counter efficient.

I came here for my wedding cake at the bakery. Reegan designed my cake perfectly to the picture I sent her for my wedding cake. My cake was absolutely beautiful! I couldn't believe it! She did such an amazing job designing my wedding cake. It got so many compliments and pictures. It was so delicious too! The price was on point also! Thank you so much Ralph's Thriftway Bakery, Reegan, for doing such an amazing job on our wedding cake!Highly recommended to all brides! A+++Thank you ?

I've been going to Ralph's my whole life. It has gone through some changes, but not often. The cost of goods is slightly higher than franchise stores, but it's usually a good place to get organic and specialty products.

Clean , but high priced. The " butcher" isn't like it use to be. Frozen beef liver instead of fresh beef liver? It is more like a meat packing department. If you shop around the store you will find nice priced items and groceries, but for one stop shopping , you will be paying big bucks over other equally clean supermarkets.

I remember a time when Ralph's Thriftway in Olympia, WA, was a convenient 24/7 stop for all essentials. It's disheartening to see that they now close early, stripping away the round-the-clock accessibility that many in the community, including myself, once relied upon. Moreover, the pricing seems to have taken a steep climb, positioning themselves out of touch with the 'thrift' part of their name. For a store that labels itself as a thrifty option, the high prices are incongruent with the expectations and needs of budget-conscious shoppers.Adding to the list of grievances, the locked-up birth control products are not only a hassle but feel judgmental, making what should be a private and personal purchase uncomfortably public.Lastly, the ownership's stance on refusing to sell Plan B due to their religious beliefs has sparked rightful controversies. A pharmacy's role is to provide needed medications to its community, without imposing moral gatekeeping. Such actions alienate and disadvantage those who rely on these critical healthcare products.Overall, Ralph's Thriftway seems to have lost touch with the inclusive and customer-focused ethos it once held, making it a less welcoming place for a diverse community.

Ralph's is my go-to place for cool, high-end and hard-to-find kitchen and household dry goods. For example, they have an awesome selection of cutting boards and baking pans. And if you're looking for caboose bamboo facial tissues, this is your place! Ralph's has a post office and driver's license desk, which is popular, but I've not issued them.If you're looking for food, Ralph's Thriftway carries a large variety of produce, including organics. And they've got frozen prepared yummy meals that are high-end and organic. Some are even gluten-free or keto friendly. While they're not cheap, they're delicious!

We had really high hopes for shopping here. We thought it would be fun to check out a new grocery store. We walked in and found random, good finds. However, despite finding rare grocery items, we were quickly turned off by the high prices and the rudeness of a staff member. Example: TGIF Loaded Skins, over $10. For that price, you could order it hot and fresh at a TGIF's. Very overpriced. This place does not live up to it's name.

Has really gone down hill in recent months, I am now avoiding using this store.Moved to the Olympia area a year and a half ago, was used to to coop experience of PCC up north and MOC in Oregon. Found this place and it appeared to be a good local option. Found it odd that the Bayview store was much better for selection and operation comparatively. This location does not match other coop experiences, but I wanted to continue to support local businesses. It is high priced, selection and quality has reduced in areas. They are not clearing aging products, so caveat emptor. We recently picked up a bottle of name brand coffee creamer and realized it expired in 4 days (best by date) once we got it home, opened it and it was completely curdled so pitched it. Wasn't the first time we made those discoveries. Reached out to them via website/email and its been crickets. Check the dates on everything you buy there, even boxed items (was the time before). Most companies stay on top of it.It is clear they put the nicer people at the registers, generally the employees are rude on the floor or behind the counter, have drama going on, block the isles and access to the products while stocking. Like why am I in their way while I am shopping. Originally thought folks were having bad days, been a pattern there for awhile now so either not a good place to work or having bad quarter or year...Weeks back in the evening it was quiet as we walked in, minimal people and no staff in deli and bakery section. My wife and I witnessed a big rat running from deli to bakery area. The customer next to us pointed it out and ran to tell employees. That was the last straw for me.This is clearly a management issue. Avoid it if you can.

My mom filled her clean water jugs at this location this past Friday. She normally gets her water at Fred Meyer but the machine wasn't taking coins so she went to Ralph's. Yesterday morning (Sunday so 2 days later) she sees algae in the water. We have central air so the water jugs weren't sitting in heat and the jugs are cleaned before each refill which happens weekly. At first we think it it is her water machine but later we see that the water jugs we haven't used yet after filling up at Ralphs has green algae that has settled to the bottom. The water jugs are cleaned regularly before filling and we never had this issue with Fred Meyer water (the jugs are cleaned and scrubbed inside and out with hot water, vinegar, and baking soda, then dried out). Both my mom and I had been experiencing stomach pains while using water from one of the jugs and my husband told me that he had problems too. After we figured out it was the water from this store I wanted to call to let them know so they can check their setup and see if it needed servicing. I thought I should say something because I don't want anyone else to experience getting sick and I thought the right thing to do would be to let them know. I kept getting transferred around from whoever picked up first, to the deli who told me they don't have ability to help with that so they transferred me to the manager. The first two people were very nice to talk to. When the manager picked up I explained to him the situation kindly and calmly. He got defensive right away and told me it had nothing to do with their water system because they use filters so my complaint is invalid. I explained to him that I am not complaining, I simply wanted to let them know since that is where we got the water from and I didn't want anyone else to drink it and get sick. He was not polite and completely lacks customer service skills. He was tactless, rude, and assuming in response. He respond with "okay" in a dismissive way and hung up. When I explained myself I was not using a mean tone and I only called because the thought of someone else getting sick because I didn't do my due diligence to communicate a problem was unsettling to my conscience. It really seems like this location has problems and possibly even a high amount of complaints since his reflex reaction was very defensive and he took what I said as a complaint when from my point of view I am communicating something they should examine first to see if their machine needs servicing (cleaning/filters changed). Honestly I got off that phone call thinking the manager was not going to even check their system to see if their filters are expired or if contamination has somehow occurred. So if anything, definitely do not drink the water from their water dispenser. Even if you don't agree with a customer there isn't any reason to respond with defensiveness. The respectful response is, "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will get someone to look into this matter further."

Good place. Nice employees, always seems to not have specifically what I’m looking for and prices are high. Good vegan and organic options. As well as good food to grab and go.

You can call in advance if you're not sure they carry an item and they will almost always go out of their way to find the item for you in store. I've done this a few times, as I wasn't sure and didn't want to go for no reason. I've never waited in line behind more than one person. Very friendly staff.

A little spendy but what a nice store! The floral dept put together a gorgeous sunflower bouquet for me. I love the selection of garden items, cooking utensils, and more! Great food selection and the staff is so friendly and helpful!
