They charge 80 dollars for a boot heat molding. That should put everything in perspective. Plus they lie and say it's free if you are a member. Overall lying to make a profit.

beautiful store but some people need to be retrained in customer service. also maybe don’t talk about paying customers in front of them very unprofessional. this took place during the evening of nov 11th the people on the tills are the ones who talked about customers not the people on the floor they on the other hand were very helpful.

We love our local REI. Shout-out to Grant for creatively solving my tactical challenges.

Great REI store with lots of store space. While it can be more expensive then I would like their goods are worth it

Got awesome gear during our visit and had helpful employees, but got asked like 5 times if we are members. Got a bit annoyed lol. Made a joke about it at the checkout and the cashier replied sharply “we are just communicating”

Honestly, for as wonderful as a store is that is in the business of selling products related to the outdoors, and actively promoting folks to partake in physical activity, the staff can tone it down on promoting their membership as far as I'm concerned. I understand why they do it, it just gets old after being informed about it 4 separate times by the same staff member in one visit. Overkill? I think so. And unfortunately to the point where shopping at REI is becoming less of an attraction. To whom it may concern; The 2nd class treatment by the blue/purple haired cashier lady shortly after announcing my lack of membership was unappreciated, and left me feeling even stronger about thinking twice before going in for that new pair of wool socks.

Tom was very kind to stop and help "install" streamers on my son's Strider. We were visiting from out of town and didn't have the tools to fit them in his handlebars.I appreciate the kindness of Tom and the other employees to make my son's day. It's the little moments.

Small, but mighty selection and (almost) always amazing service and help in getting what you need!

REI sends me constant email and paper mailers and paper catalogs trying to entice me to buy stuff I Don’t need . Now in the store to appear conscientious they are BAG LESS. Don’t send me catalogs but please but sell us a paper bag to carry your expensive merchandise home.I am going to avoid this store in protest of the bagless policy. . Aug 21,23 I found another 24 page REI catalog I don’t want in my mail.

I'm in the process of getting supplies together for a camping trip and wanted to buy a tent. Walking into REI wound up being the worst customer service experiences that I've ever had. rei.com/newsroom/article…This no longer applies at this location apparently. It's rare when I notice being the only non white person somewhere. The staff made my daughter and I feel unwelcome by constantly following us but not asking if we needed assistance with anything. The final employee that followed us was the only one to speak but she was incredibly rude. It's not a hard decision to avoid this place in the future.

Firstly, let me say that I HATE shopping. Let’s just make that clear. But shopping at REI is so painless I damn near enjoy it! From knowledgeable folks keen to help with fitting backpacks to patient shoe department staff who encourage me try on ten different pairs of shoes to find the best fit to the cheery people manning the registers I’ve never had a bad experience at an REI no matter which outlet I’ve gone to all over the US. The Olympia branch is no exception to their standards of excellent and friendly service. Well done yet again, REI!

They mixed up men’s and women’s clothing upstairs. I have poor vision due to an autoimmune disease. I had extremely difficult time to navigate around the clothing section. Horrible experience. When I mentioned it to an employee the guy just turned his back to me and walked away.

What's happened to the shoe selection at REI these days? Where's the Asolo, Vasque, North Face etc? It seems like they only carry trail running shoes or running shoes anymore.

I went there to buy a national park pass and Washington state pass. I had to ask for help with understanding which would be the best option for what i was getting. Also I needed help with the membership pass. Kat was amazing at helping me. I was really impressed. I told her my travel plans and she took out a map and explained some hikes in the area. It made me feel really comfortable with my trip. It’s nice, like a true hometown hiking tour. Full of knowledge and enthusiasm. I will definitely be back and continue to shop at REI as I really felt very welcomed. Thank you Kat.

The staff here at the store is so nice!!! Every person I talked to was kind and helpful despite it being their big black Friday sale and being super busy. I walked in, and Allison was the first to help me. She made my shopping experience so much better by telling me the deals they were having and how I could become a member. Kat helped me find the perfect alpining backpack well within my price range. I didn't get her name, but the nice shoe lady helped me find two amazing pairs of shoes. Finally, the gentleman helping me check my stuff out was so nice and helped me get even more discounts by making sure I bought the right amount of trail snacks. 100/10 recommend, I feel really happy with everything I bought, and I'm excited I get to be a member! :)
