I only shop here when I absolutely have to shop here, and every time I walk in the doors (depending on which set is open) I almost instantly regret it. First, the prices. They're high. This isn't bargain shopping by any means. If I'm going to pay a premium, I'm going to shop at a store where that premium means fresh food, good selection, and a clean store...and this place ain't it. Speaking of selection, there are empty spots on shelves galore! I can't find what I came for, but by the gods, you got all your seasonal crap jammed in those center aisles, don't you? No heavy cream but tons of Easter creme eggs. Oh goody. Third, the self checkout is a dumpster fire. You have one cashier supervising more than half a dozen checkout kiosks, and that one person is either horribly overworked or looking at something on their phone, oblivious. And people being people, no one can figure out how to properly manipulate carts, etc., in the confined space. Brilliant idea to have a huge pillar in the middle of your checkout, by the way. Genius move. This means someone is always bumping into something else, blocking people in, and generally making a mess out of the whole operation. It's awful. Really awful. That sums it up. This Safeway is awful. Simply AWFUL.

The Pharmacy is screwed up! IMO Corporate has cut things so bad they cant run things right and take care of customers. A few months ago my wife went in to get flue shots and we were told to make an appointment on line or call. I had tried to call a few days previous to check on prescription and they never picked up and or where to busy to answer questions. That did not make sense to me they can accept calls to make an appointment but not talk to a customer about a prescription. Something is wrong with that. And not all people have access or are comfortable to deal with things on line. Fast forward to today I have a very nasty infection and was in the hospital for five nights and prescribed an antibiotic. My wife brought me home and went to Safeway where we had the prescription of the antibiotic sent. She gets in line and sees a sign stating "any electronic prescription refills or orders were not received please contact your doctor and have the order faxed to us. WTF So now I have to contact the medical team that took care of me and have them fax the prescription to a different pharmacy. Also just found out that Safeway DOES NOT have the antibiotic that I need, again WTF. I cant miss taking these antibiotics other wise the infection could come back and be even more difficult to knock down. SAFEWAY I am done with you!

I got the best coffee I've ever had from a Starbucks here. I asked the barista Jasper to surprise me as long as it's hot, and they nailed it. 10 stars, I'll be back for sure.

This place is ratchet, yet some how always packed. I went to self check. My light started blinking even though I wasn't buying anything age prohibitive. Checker eventually noticed and cleared it, but only after a long wait while the line behind me grew. Two items rang up full price, but they were supposed to be half off. When I finally got the checker's attention again, she told me to go take a picture of the correct price if I didn't want to pay the extra. I'm not on the clock, and I'm not going to do the work of those who are. I left with nothing; I have no intention of returning.

Sage did an AWESOME job of checking me out on Friday, December 15th! I have been telling everyone how amazed and pleased I was at her Customer Service and Caring Spirit!I had purchased an 18-count carton of eggs, and she actually opened the carton to check if any of the eggs were broken or cracked! WOW!!! Then, she noticed I also had a box of Quaker granola and she called and double-checked to see if that was the one being recalled! IT WAS!! She let me go and grab another brand of granola! I LOVE this Customer Service, Dedication and Caring! I told the customer behind me and told Sage I have voted her Associate of the Day!! You should have that!! There should be a way you could just stop by the customer service counter and relay your praises about an associate! They need Recognition and Encouragement to keep doing a Great Job. You could even announce it store wide when someone relays praise! How fun would that be, not only for that associate, but for other associates and customers too!!! We need to put the Good Stuff back into our daily lives and help to eliminate the negative.Anyway - Major Couto's to Sage!!! Well Done!!

Very disappointed with this Safeway - been a long time shopper here and made an important order for grocery pickup at 9 AM to pickup at 4 PM - then at 4:30 - without ANY other communication, they cancelled my order. I went in and was able to get almost everything on my list AND they had employees shopping for other grocery orders as I was out there picking up my items.I am very disappointed in this Safeway and will be looking to find a new place to shop. I also spent more because the Safeway digital coupons/just4u/etc discounts I had used on my online order were still pending so I didn't get to use them.I contacted Safeway and they would not give me a refund for the extra spent. I DO NOT recommend the West Olympia Safeway.

The deli employees don’t wear food safety gloves and one woman was on her phone, my server used the tongs from the chow mein to grab an egg roll, talk about cross contamination. No utensils, condiments or napkins are offered. Hope you don’t fail your food safety checks.

Pretty annoying to shop here. Never have enough check-out lines open and I've never had a pickup order filled on time.

Employees are horrible. Employee at customer service rolled her eyes at me. Not a great location anyways due to homeless and theft so maybe they just hate working here. Definitely sticking to the one in Lacey.

Prices are high. Shelves were mostly empty for the things I wanted to buy at 7 pm on a weeknight. Friendly cashier and bagger. They had the closest entrance locked already. When I asked the cashier why, she said they close it when it's late. It was 7 pm.

Sage is a horrible cashier. Doesn’t say hello, spaces out while scanning the groceries and moves at a snails pace. And she refused to bag our groceries. When I asked her to turn on the conveyor belt So I could Bag, my own groceries, she informed me there’s button. The level lazy given the prices of the groceries is crazy. Trader Joe’s is much better
