Mike took my 12 year old son and I out spey fishing on the Cowlitz's river. he helped my son learn to spey cast and helped land his first summer run stealhead and it was just an awesome day.

Mike is a great fly fisherman and wealth of knowledge of the art and industry of flyfishing. Mike is seasoned fly fisherman and guide who truly loves what he does. He ties many of the flies you will use on your trips and you will find anything you need in his well stocked fly shop. I believe that nobody knows more about fishing the Cowlitz River or the local mountain lakes and streams than Mike Sturza. Over the last 5 years or so, I have spent at least a dozen trips with Mike and we always catch fish; two beautiful steelheads stick out in my recent memory. Actually, Mike still seams to enjoy watching me hook fish as much as I do in catching them; he invariably laughs out loud at the take.
