I am not sure where the negative comments are stimming from with regards of Dr. McCord. I have been a patient of his for numerous years and he has always been above board with my treatment and promptly addresses concerns. He has well-exceeded any of my expectations for care and has even helped me in times where he had to squeeze me in for urgent medical concerns.
I believe that the negative comments come from people with unrealistic expectations rather than understanding that he is someone with numerous patients and can’t nor should he be expected to remember every single detail. I seen him today after two years of being in another state and it’s like we picked up from where we left off.
I have also seen a lack of personal accountability from commenters about their failure to be punctual. It should be common in that you should arrive at minimum of 15 minutes early to your appointment and NOT LATE because he has other patients to see throughout the day.

Dr. McCord is a good choice if you, as a patient, do not need any medical care. If you only need to see him once a year for existing prescription refills (prescribed prior to becoming his patient) or if you only need forms filled out for school, work, etc.
If you need actual medical care, a diagnosis, or treatment options, this is not a good choice. I was a patient for several years and everything worked okay until I actually needed care. Then, I was mansplained on why I was incorrect about what I asked for. Anything as simple as asking for a specialist referral was denied, because he didn't think it necessary but also didn't want to address the reasons I felt it was needed. I was advised to follow up with him in a few months. Rinse and repeat.
Again, if you only need a doctor on paper he is a good choice. For any medical needs, seek another provider.
FWIW- I went to another provider and received the treatment I initially requested. 18 months later I am almost back to normal.

I attempted to establish care with McCord but I'm having to find a new primary care provider now.
Initially setting up care with him took 4 months and he refused to address any of my issues during that visit. I had to set up a second appointment to even begin treatment for the issues discussed.
During the second appointment he told me that none of the issues I was talking about were in his notes. I do not know what the first appointment was for if he wasn't going to listen to me. Still, nothing was addressed or resolved.
I have since attempted to get an appointment, but the availability is over 6 months out.
Not only is he not attentive to patients. He is not even accessible.

I see a lot of these reviews involve timing and tardiness, and other pleasantries. My elderly family members are punctual and respectful. The staff have been respectful. None of that matters if the Dr doesn’t do his job. McCord, plainly, does not work or problem solve for his pay. For an elderly female patient with dementia he barely addressed her, or touch her during a yearly visit. No stethoscope, no movement or pain assessments. How are you going to know what’s wrong and if she needs a referral? Huge weight loss in the other family member and he never even checked his thyroid after 1.5 years of weight loss. Mr McCord is only good for referrals to other doctors.
When we got denied for a treatment, the staff did not call to tell us insurance denied it, requiring us to call multiple times to follow up.
Recently a PA has been working with the team and he is very helpful. Thorough and careful to listen. I don’t know his name, sorry my friend. I appreciate the care provided by this professional, even if it’s just in the background.

Had a client in her 80's on 24/7 oxygen, difficult to ambulate and transfer in/out of a car that had a 10:15 appointment with Dr. McCord. She arrived at 10:19 due to construction and was refused and put down as a no show. For being 4 minutes late. It was explained why she was late and it didn't matter. We had to reschedule and go through it all again. Now we all know that had she been on time, she would NOT have been called back and seen at 10:15. How is this helping our senior population. This is unacceptable behavior by his office.

Was 4 min late for appt stood in line for 5 min while 3 people sitting in back and tried to call , on hold never got thru and doctor refused my appt. Extremely poor service and I'm very agitated and extremely frustrated at the service provided . They never return your call when you need a prescription refill its like you don't matter as a patient. Told receptionist I would look for new doctor, she said ok. Should be fired, treat people like their health isn't important what kind of clinic is this when they treat you like your nothing just another number .

I have been going to Dr McCord for a few years and do believe the negative reviews they probably are all true he speaks very condescending to you as a patient and does not take your complaints seriously.I recently had a serious injury and he made me wait over a month before he would refer me for a MRI, when the MRI came back as a serious injury and I was finally referred to a specialist, the specialist asked why it took so long to see him for surgery. It is ok for him in his practice to make you wait for 5 or 10 minutes for your appointment but if you are 3 minutes late he will cancel you no matter the reason even if it is the screeners fault checking you in I didn’t change physician sooner just because it’s hard to start over again with a new primary care Dr but this last situation made me realize it’s time for me to make a change.

I have had many doctors over the years and Dr. McCord is the best. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and really cares about his patients.

This was the 3rd time I have been to see Dr Mccord. I was seen on time, everyone was polite, helpful and professional. It isn't easy to move to a different state and change doctors, I was with my last one for 20 years. It also isn't easy for a doctor to see a new patient and know everything about them. Patients are not always up front with what they need and often leave the doctor guessing. When we are asked to be early, it is for a reason. When we are kept waiting it may be because someone else was late or is having an emergency. I have found that when I am early I often get seen early. It takes time for the doctor and patient to trust each other. I am just thankful that we have people who want to be in the medical profession. I look forward to trusting Dr Mccord and his staff with my medical care.

I have been a patient here for some years now and I am sad to say, but I am going to be finding a new doctor. Here are my reasons why. I have recently gone to my normal physician as anyone would with an issue that has came up with me. During this visit I had a very uncomfortable experience ,just plain awkward and felt judged. This led me to not feeling comfortable enough to express my full concerns of what was wrong with me. Now, putting aside not feeling comfortable and how it felt, but they did not explain or tell me what this condition could do to my body, the side effects, or that I needed to make a follow up appointment. The main things the nurse and my doctor was telling me was just useless unhelpful information that was just awkward and embarrassing comments. Moving on to my next issue, at this visit before even going in for the appointment, I was presented paper work, updating privacy policies and my contact information(I.e my phone number address etc.). I filled out this paper work, giving them my new contact information and updating a form on who they are allowed to disclose my information to if I am not available. With doing this, later on after my visit I was told that I was going to be getting a call ,at the most a week or so out with my results. After a week I decided to start calling, and every single time I called during working hours, I did not get a SINGLE answer and wasn’t able to get in contact with a single person and I left multiple voicemails with a call back number. After almost a MONTH of calling they decide to finally call back, BUT NO, THEY DIDNT CALL ME, they called someone who 100000% did NOT put on theses forms TO DISCLOSE INFORMATION TO. They told them my results my issues and claims to say they didn’t have my number or contact information on file !!!???? This infuriated me, this was embarrassing, rude, and ridiculous. This really topped it off for me. I would not recommend them to any young woman who experiences normal concerns with there body’s and needs a doctor who is open and non judgmental, and RELIABLE.

As a mom of five I have to trust that my kids doctor actually cares and would be there for my children. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS WITH THIS DOCTOR. My children were sick for their first appointment with him so they missed it and he does not reschedule. AT ALL. I was told that I will have to find them a new doctor. I saw him for a mental health appointment and because of insurance issues even though I was early, they saw they me late. Then McCord and his staff treated me as if I was the problem. They were rude, made snide comments about being late the rest of the day and he was in the room with for three minutes. He handed me a list of mental health providers and said try to be on time next time. FOR A MENTAL HEALTH APPOINTMENT! I have no faith in this "Doctor" and will gladly take my babies somewhere else.

This doctor should be avoided at all costs. He DOES NOT care about your health, you tell him symptoms you are having and he ignores you. You ask for a specialist and he tells you it's not worth the specialists time. Acts as if you are a bother to his day. Dr. McCord, If you are so miserable and hate your job so much you should probably find a different profession. I genuinely believe his medical license should be revoked or an investigation should be opened on his care towards patients. DO NOT GO HERE.
