Opened my account online which was super easy. Branch is well staffed and everyone is very friendly. Just closed our mortgage with them which was a great experience.

This is such a trash credit union, nobody cares about the issues you face with the mobile app and they delay helping you time after time simply saying a specialist will call only for the specialist to tell you “there is no way to do what you’re asking” when so many other banking services can simply and helpfully assist in these basic tasks. It is ridiculous, the customer service is beyond bad. The only decent experience I’ve had with anyone over the phone is someone named Chelsea, besides her everyone has been completely incompetent and unhelpful.

Worst bank I have ever dealt with. On hold for an hour and a half today and got transferred to 4 people before being hung up on and not transferred literally just trying to make a payment. Almost anybody you speak to is brand new or has no idea how to help or what they’re talking about. They make it impossible to make a payment without incurring a fee. Literally tempted to refinance my vehicle again just to get away from this bank they are that horrible

Had to call a different branch because the man I was talking to was condescending and rude— asked to speak to a different person, wasn’t anyone available. Poor people are short staffed which I really feel for them about but that doesn’t excuse his 0/10 customer service.

Horrible banking experience! Their cash advance machine has been down for months, so if you don’t have a checking account, you have to get cash out to make a loan payment! They are closing surrounding banks so you are limited to find an open active bank! They are short staffed so expect to wait in line for 30 mins!

Small home town bank on the outside. Typical big banking experience inside. Maximum run arounds. The employees don’t seem to have a grasp at the time taken out of my day to ensure their job was indeed done correctly; the second time. My review is coming after a poor experience with my significant other who banks there… my account was closed years ago due to the same issues. My personal time has no value with these people.

I generally like the Jefferson County branch of Kitsap credit union. The people are friendly and courteous. However, to phone the Kitsap credit union system has been so highly designed to eliminate humans that waiting to connect with a human being takes quite a bit of patience. It's almost easier to leave my office, get in the vehicle or bicycle and go to the office in order to talk with anyone. I guess feeling this way makes me a Luddite. If you don't know what a Luddite is, it's easy to find out online. I find myself a modern day Luddite. I don't wish to press 1234 or six when I call the bank. I wish to talk with the person about my issues

Kitsap Credit Union employees are polite and helpful, like at all such institutions, but management policies are unfriendly to customers. Because Kitsap CU was offering better interest rates on checking account balances, and because we generally keep large balances in our checking accounts, we switched our checking accounts to Kitsap CU about a year ago. One month later, the pandemic hit and Kitsap CU then dropped that interest rate to half what it had been. So the weeks I spent setting up the new accounts with their auto-withdrawals, auto-deposits and auto-bill paying didn't end up benefitting us. Management says that the pandemic necessitated lowering costs, but they didn't lower executive salaries, for example, so account holders took the complete brunt of that - not surprising, but telling. And in order to qualify for any interest at all, one must use their debit card twelve times a month, use online banking and have at least one auto-deposit, one auto-withdrawal or use online bill paying once each month. So, on one of our accounts, I set up an auto-withdrawal. The company which withdraws money from that account each month, skipped last month's withdrawal and made two withdrawals this month instead. Kitsap CU didn't pay interest because that withdrawal wasn't made last month, even though we had complied with all the requirements they had in place. So even though this auto-withdrawal was set up, Kitsap CU used that excuse not to pay interest. There was absolutely no negative impact on Kitsap CU because that money wasn't withdrawn. They set up this gauntlet of requirements in the hope that they can find a way not to pay you interest. And if you don't think that is intentional, then I've got a bridge to sell you. Don't do business with these people. At our earliest convenience, we are going to be switching to a bank which knows that treating customers well is the smartest way to do business.
