The produce section at Fred Meyer is consistently awful. Fruits and veggies are either borderline spoiled on the shelf or go bad the very next day. Shelves are often half empty, and what is there looks picked over and neglected. It's frustrating to pay full price for food that’s barely edible or already going bad.
This store seriously needs to step up its game—better stocking, better quality control, and fresher products. I now make a separate trip elsewhere just to get decent produce. Save yourself the hassle and do the same.
Update 7/30: Last week I bought a head of lettuce and—no joke—there was a giant bug crawling around inside it when I got home. Absolutely disgusting. That was the final straw. If this is the level of cleanliness and quality control going on behind the scenes, I wouldn’t trust any of the fresh food here. I won’t be buying produce at Fred Meyer again.

Fred Meyer is a great one-stop shop with a solid selection of groceries, household goods, and more. The store itself is clean, well-organized, and the staff are usually friendly and helpful. Prices are fair, and I appreciate the convenience of being able to pick up everything I need in one trip.
The only downside is the parking lot area — there always seem to be quite a few homeless individuals and other people lingering around, which can make it feel a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. That said, it hasn’t stopped me from shopping here, but it’s something to be aware of.
Overall, it is a decent grocery store because of the variety and convenience, but I do wish they could do something to improve the safety and comfort of the parking area.

I’ve loved Fred Meyer for many years. The fact that it’s one stop shopping but better quality than Walmart. Plus there’s a lot of options if you are on a health kick. A new one remember the good old days when you could drop your kid off for up to an hour?
