If I could give 0 stars I would. I was told I could bring my sewing machine in after I told them that we had opened up the machine. Once I got there they refused me immediately and wouldn't even look at it... I wasted a trip from Federal Way to be turned away immediately...

I took a Class 1 in how to learn to use my sewing machine class with our instructor Georgette and she was amazing! Our whole group were complete beginners, and she explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. She was so kind, patient, and answered all of our questions.
I really liked how she went over everything step by step before we started practicing—it made a big difference. I left the class feeling much more confident and with more knowledge than I had before. I’ve taken classes at other store locations, but Puyallup is still my favorite.

I brought in my Grandma’s Bernina 830. Close to mint condition. But the presser foot lifter wouldn’t lift all the way.
The sales lady looked at it for less than 5 seconds and then told me this machine wasn’t worth the $200-$300 fix. She said that with these machine, once something goes wrong—they keep going wrong. (**This is not true btw. The Bernina 800 series are known to be power horses that last because they are made of purely metal and steel + non computerized. So either she was lying to me or she just didn’t know)
Then, she walked me over to a $5,999 machine and told me I should get that one… I felt like she was definitely just trying to get me to spend money.
I wanted to get my grandmas machine fixed. That’s what I came in for. I didn’t want a new fancy machine. Plus, I knew the Bernina 830 reputation. If my grandma had a crappy machine, I’d admit it.
Anyway, I walked out of there feeling like I got sold to by a really bad salesperson who cared nothing about me.
I went home. Used ChatGPT and I discovered it was congealed oil and grease that was blocking the presser foot lifter from moving all the way. I fixed the machine in less than 2 hours. From research, this is a common issue with Bernina’s that sit in storage for years.
I would never recommend this place to my friends and family if they were looking for sewing machine repairs.

Avery and the Sewing and Vacuum team were a huge help earlier this week. Avery was knowledgeable, kind, and was able to correct a minor technical error that none of us were aware existed (where they accidentally put the wrong number down for maintenance insurance on one of our machines.) I’ve been helping my mom with her machines for years now and despite my own relative ignorance the team has only made me feel welcome and worked to support me in supporting my mom. Thanks again for the great help! They truly keep an approachable and inviting environment, something I really appreciate. I really cannot commend Avery enough; he was knowledgeable, open to questions, didn’t rush us, and was open to general sewing discussion. Thanks Avery. He and the team made our day.

Every time I have been into this store I have been treated like a human being and not judged or made to feel less than for not knowing everything. My two young daughters have been in with me and they have been treated in the same fashion. They always have what I need and not to mention literally the only local place that carries quality!

I purchased a Nellie Mop a few years ago. The lower battery no longer held a charge so I brought it in for service. The model is no longer manufactured or supported, so I was given a brand new mop at no charge! Outstanding customer service. The store always has help available. Highly recommend.
