This store is just so awful. It's a terrible shopping experience. The shelves are poorly kept. Products aren't stocked and in the wrong place. It's not uncommon to see food that is for sale on the floor. The staff is rude and consistently treats customers with contempt. They act like they're some inner city ghetto safeway, but it's just puyallup. They're surly. This isn't a bad neighborhood. You don't have a bad clientele. You just have a bad attitude and terrible leadership. Poor sales performance isn't due to location or selection, it's due to a toxic culture. I used to spend about 1000 a month here but not anymore. And to be honest I'm looking for good grocery options in the future. Safeway isn't it. And this store in particular has ruined any brand affiliation I may have felt in the past.

I had a very satisfactory experience while dealing with your employee named Susan. She was such a friendly face who after noticing that I was having trouble finding the specific item that I was looking for came right up to me greeting me with a smile and asking if I required any assistance from her . I did in fact and asked if she knew if there might be anymore of the item I was looking for in stock and she right away quickly ran to the back room and when she returned was carrying all 4 of what I was looking for .
This was SUCH a difference from my experience that I had just had when I first tried my luck shopping at the new Shaw road Safeway . That employee was rude and completely unwilling to go out of this way in anyway to try and help me to see if there was anymore of what I was looking for . He lied saying if it wasn’t on the shelf that they didn’t have it even though he was clearly restocking that entire section from the looks of the cart he was working on so there very well could have bee he was just unwilling to look for me . Then when I had to ask him if he could find out and look for me he straight told me no and that he was too busy . Unbelievable .
Susan really turned around what was forming as my opinion of Safeway and their customer service . Thank you for showing me that there are still good customer service employees out there (: you made my day that day !

This store needs new leadership that is committed to customer service. The staff in this store consistently offers the worst service I've ever received at a grocery store. They are rude, condescending, and combative.

Nothing but rude spectators
I had a shift at this exact safeway location at 10pm for their third-party company called Sas Retail Merchandising, I came in at 8 pm two hours early before my shift started. The only sit that was available was located near the pharmacy. I didn't think anything much about it because my seat was right next to the surveillance cameras, what could go wrong. The pharmacist came out to greet me because she thought I had an appointment, I mentioned to her that I was just waiting for my shift to start, I'm just here a couple hours early. During my wait, I got up and walked a few grocery aisles and made my final decision on a specific beverage. I made my way to the cashier to check out, I pulled out my credit card to finalize my charge, grabbed my receipt, and made my way back to the same seat next to the pharmacist. Let me remind you, I didn't think nothing much of it. At 9 p.m., I made an online pick-up purchase on postmates near the nearest Taco Bell located on 702 S Meridian. At 9:15 p.m., I grabbed my belongings to make my to Taco Bell for my food order. At 9:45 p.m. I headed back into Safeway, I had 15 minutes till my shift started. The moment I walked in safeway, I spotted my supervisor, so I walked over to her direction to get my shift started. My manager gave me a briefing on which aisles I'll be working on once the whole team arrives. At 10pm, shift starts. The whole team arrived, and I realized that I was short on supplies, so my SAS Retail Merchandising supervisor. Which is the company I'm employed with, directed me to the safeway Managers. I asked the safeway managers for the location of the supplies and bags to use, and she directed me to the back of the store. Once we got to the back of the store, she pointed at every item to retrieve with her middle finger, I knew at that very moment it was going to be a problem. At 11pm, my supervisor pulls me to the side and says that the safeways managers are causing me of shoplifting. None of the Safeway staff acknowledged me the moment I walked in, nor did they ask to see my receipt after I walked out of the store. Their just deceitful Spectating Psychopaths. My supervisor asked the null to see the surveillance cameras regrading the matter, and no further action was taken. Once my shift ended, I received an email from the support team regarding the incident and was taken off the upcoming assignments. Whatever degree this null at safeway required to get their position, it should be converted to toilet paper.

I just went in to grab a few things with my toddler and needed to also get cash from the ATM. Of course my toddler decided it was a great day to be wild. A kind young man that works there I think his name was Kamdan was so sweet to help distract my son while I was trying to make my transaction. It’s so refreshing to have someone offer to help instead of give dirty looks when you toddler decides to well be a toddler.

This Safeway is garbage. Don't know what happen but in the past year it has gone way downhill. The apples are always bad and I have no idea why they feel it's OK to even have bad fruit out for sale. Just bought some spoiled potato salad. About to return that sht tomorrow. Obviously whoever is the manager of this particular Safeway has zero pride in the store. Will say the employees I interact with are very nice and helpful.

I shop here at least 3 times a week. Customer service was above and beyond... until my wallet went missing. All I got was a shrug from the customer service saying "sorry this area is sketchy". She totally blew me off. Came back again to the self service check out person and told her I thought I saw the male outside with my wallet. No offers to review security footage. Nothing. 3 hours later my credit card company has fraudulent charges being tried on Amazon. Thanks for nothing guys. I won't be back and I know you could have done better. Deeply disappointed.
