My husband and I adopted Dorothy (about a year ago) also known as Dottie now. We had such a great experience. The people who work here care deeply for the dogs and are in it to make the dogs happy and feel safe. We were first interested in a dog named Matthew who we found out didn’t get along well with others (we have a puggle)- we still looked at him but knew it wouldn’t work out, we also looked at a gorgeous lab and did a couple training classes with her but she also wasn’t a great fit. Throughout our time spent looking, Pate and the dog trainers were very supportive and helpful. We took Dottie on a trial basis and will be keeping her forever! She fits perfectly with our family and are very grateful for Motleys!Keep in mind, everyone that works here is doing their best and they are extremely busy housing, training, transporting and taking care of many animals needs. Be grateful that they do a thorough background check and show them grace if it takes a bit of time to respond- they are literally saving animals lives everyday.

Like others, I believe they are a scam. I'm not entirely sure what they are up to, but sadly they are NOT interested in finding safe, loving, forever homes for their animals. I was interested one of their dogs and so spent hours of my time filling out their privacy-invasive application form, taking photos of the interior and exterior of my home, proving home ownership, etc. And of course paying their application fee. I thought it was a little strange compared to the adoption process I've seen with other agencies but I did it in good faith. After several days, someone wrote back to me asking me additional questions, which I dedicated more time to answering. Then more days later, I was given what I learned was a totally illegitimate and frankly offensive reason why I could not adopt from them. I am an extremely experienced pet owner, and an exceptionally caring, loving pet parent. Any legit agency would be over the moon to find a home like mine to send a poor animal.

This charity runs on a shoe string budget and primarily uses foster families. Which is best for the animals. They care most about placing the pet with the right family. Great rescue.

Motley Zoo is amazing! My partner and I adopted a kitty from them back in March. After many months it was obvious our home wasn’t the right fit for her. It was a very tough choice to make. Eva understood and supported us in our decision and made the surrendering process much more brighter for us. We thank you so much! We miss Bean but know she will be much happier now.

I applied for a dog I was interested in. It took me over an hour to apply. They ask for bills and proof of mortgage and asks extensive questions. Two days later I get an email asking more questions about previous dogs we owned. I answer promptly, then never hear back. I email over a week later asking if my application has been approved. Nothing. It would be nice to know whether we got approved or not. It makes it difficult to want to support this kind of org that does not respond.

My wife and I were given the opportunity to foster a little special needs pup from Motley Zoo. She was an amazing little creature but ultimately succumbed to her birth defects. Throughout the whole process Motley Zoo was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and communicative. The vets they’ve chosen to work with are also pretty great to deal with too. The facility where the animals are kept is spacious and clean plus they have multiple big dog run areas for exercise. So even though our first foster situation ended earlier than we anticipated, overall it was a very positive experience and it made me want to help out even more. Without question I would go through Motley Zoo again.I’ve seen some of the other reviews here and a few are pretty spicy. I don’t quite get that. Fostering and adopting takes time and at times running a rescue can be overwhelming with vet visits, coordinating, etc. Be patient and the right pet will come to you. ♥️

Mario, ( my dog ) and I , really love this place. Super clean and the people is just amazing. I am taking Mario to Mothley Zoo once a week and I can see Mario's improvements every time I go to pick him up after work. Mario is also excited to go there. He is a "Covid dog" so he suffered a lot of separation anxiety. However, the amazing people that work here, knows how to take care of him and make sure he is having the best day. Thank you for all your support!

This was a wonderful experience. We met our dog even though we didn't know it yet,at a meet and greet. Within a week of completing the application and being called and accepted, we had the most perfect match, the dog you see in the photo. She is amazing and we are more than thrilled to be her family.

The best dog rescue I have ever encountered. It's the cleanest by far and it has such amazing staff and volunteers. The trainers care about the animals and the owners, with is something that is normally missed. I can never say enough good things about Motley. This is just a drop in the bucket of how much work and passion everyone has for this place, including myself.

I had a wonderful experience adopting my two kittens from Motley Zoo! While the process was a bit tedious, I got paired with the most perfect babies, and now I understand why it's such a carefully thought out process. They truly care about where the animals end up and what the rest of their lives look like. I had attended an adoption event and fell in love with a kitten, and while he wasn't available at the time, they helped me find some that were - and they were perfect for me! Response time was quick throughout the adoption process, and I was given lots of resources and information during our adoption meeting. I could tell that the babies were very loved and cared for with their foster family, and they have transitioned so well into their new home. I've had them for just over a month now, and I'm so thankful Motley Zoo helped me find my perfect matches!

I have volunteered at Motley Zoo for 6 years, and I can honestly say I absolutely love being there! I volunteer in the "little dog room", of doggie daycare, and cherish my time with these sweet pups. I also feel really good about the fact that the money from the daycare goes to help dogs we have rescued, especially those who need extensive medical treatment. We adopt out many dogs and cats and are careful to make sure the adopters are a good fit with the animals, who are all fostered by our trained volunteers. The facility where the daycare is located is kept incredibly clean, and great care is taken to make sure everyone is aware of the procedures. I give Motley Zoo 5 stars, and wouldn't dream of volunteering anywhere else!

They took my $5 application fee and my time for filling in >1 hour application form, also the picture of my backyard. They asked for pictures of the interiors of my home (or video tour of my home), more pictures of my backyard and front of my home, my home address, my story caring for animals, my families who take care of pet, complete medical history of my current dog, but rejected me to even see the dog I’m interested in?Its starts to feel weird, you know? ?♀️ Weird, so weird.

Two stars, although their website shows a lot of available animals for adoption and Ann, the representative who responded to my inquiry by the next day, however they should note on there website, if it is a SAFTEY CONCERN that all cats they have for adoption have to be or THEY REQUIRE to be indoor cats ONLY should be posted all over so that the person who would like to adopt not waste there time filling out the inquiry and application (two separate forms) and pay a $5 fee. After receiving my last email stating there are “safety concerns” I further asked what other safety concerns did Ann have since Ann didn’t fully clarify and got completely ghosted me after asking. If you want to be a great adoption center with great customer care not just for the animals please respond to your costumers and end the conversation so you might get better customer service reviews don’t just say there are Safety concerns and should look somewhere else if the the answer from the beginning was a NO when I stated there was no preference whether the cats would be indoor outdoor.I hope this helps the next person finding a cat and to Motley Zoo be better, I understand you’re trying to find good homes for these animals but train your employees better.Thank you. No response is necessary from Motley since Ann couldn’t respond to an email.
