You know I go to a lot of different places to shop. It's amazing to me how different employees can be from store to store within the same company. . Honestly with Safeway and Albertsons I never really know I'm going to get. . a lot of times I am pleasantly surprised though. The crew on duty last night were absolutely what the model of customer service skill set should be. . they were extremely helpful and accommodating and weren't rude at all. I appreciate it

Customer service at this location is timely and helpful whether you call to confirm stock or ask for assistance in the store. The atmosphere is clean and respectful. An aura like this can only be achieved from the respect management shows for employees who in turn do their best in their role elevating the culture.

As always, Safeway is reliable, clean, lots of staff and the usual layout of goodies.
Near our ALoft hotel so convenient.
Clean washrooms.
Lots of parking. Amex approved.

I've been coming to the store location for a couple of months now since it's close to my day to day routine. Although as of 5/27/24 at 6:31, I experienced discrimination.
I purchased a liquid death berry as well as a wild berry Celsius energy drink from the self kiosk. After paying, I proceeded to go back through the store over to the warm food area and then proceed to leave.
I notice the self check out gal is posted up at the door exit.
As I look at her as I am walking out with my items, I am physically hockey checked into the shoulder / chest by a staff member from the store. "Demanding the two drinks from me." When I claim I pay for the items while continuing to walk away, the staff member proceeds to interfere with my path of leaving, demanding my receipt. I pull a receipt from my hoodie, show it in the air, as the staff demands to see it, I say no, as the staff proceeds to pull out their phone to record me as I proceed to leave. The female staff is watching as the male staff is following me as he records, a 3rd staff member comes out with civilian clothing on to demand the items and / or receipt, to come back to him. I think this is a civilian trying to 3rd party me, as I'm crossing the street, they chase after me saying they work here.
I tell him, the guy hit me, why he hit me if he thinks I steal. The guy tell me why no show receipt, I say, because he attacked me, he didn't ask for a receipt. I show the guy the receipt as he apologizes to me and walks back to the guy. To leave the staff members identify unanimous, I'm not sharing the name in the review.
The store as a whole is always well kept. Whenever I come in for warm food or the Monday tender deal, I am always served well by the hot food people. It is a shame that I no longer feel safe, secure, or okay coming to this location.
I used to come here to stock up on drinks and my lunch for the day. It was a wonderful place to visit the bakery for my breakfast, to be fueled for the day.
Although after the recent experience, I'm very hesitant to enter a grocery store again at the moment. It's interesting how one can be quickly judged, physically touched and or verbally abused by and defamed with expressions such as "Thief, you took the receipt from the garbage" Mind you the total for my purchase today was under $5.00. Was the entirety of all three staff members actions justified from the self check out clerk not respectfully expressing any concerns, they could of easily have been "excuse me can you please provide payment, I didn't catch your payment " I would of kindly attended to the gal. Although to aggressively single someone out for two liquid drinks is beyond me.

The lady in her 40s working self checkout around 10am today 5/10 was very rude. I don’t get why people like that work in customer service, just go get a warehouse job or something why torture yourself. You clearly hate your job.

Prices are all high compared to Fred Meyer that is across the street, unless they are on sale and you clip the coupon and hunt for deals

This grocery store is one of the ones close to me and I would honestly say the walmart is better than this safeway. I feel like I have bought food that is either expired or close to expiring so many times at this location. I have ended up with things from the produce, dairy, and deli sections that were expired on more than one occasion. The staff here is fairly nice I've never really had an issues with them except for sometimes the lady at self checkout gets a little to close to me for my liking, but that's a personal thing. Shelves are usually well stocked, and it's not too busy/loud just make sure you're double-checking your expiration dates before purchasing anything.
