I had dinner there last night, food and service was okay and I would recommended the place if not for what had happened later after I saw the bill. I gave 15% of tips and leave a whole number as total amount but only to find that the restaurant over charged me on tips and changed it to a number with decimal points. It's not the amount that matters but the fact that they are changing what customers have put down. Be careful with your bills!

Always an excellent dining experience. The 3 of us shared a bottle of chanti, salads are always excellent; the special seafood linguine was amazing, as were the lobster ravioli. Tiramisu a must have. Save room!

We were there for my Mother's birthday and everything was great! The food was excellent and the service, we had one couple that was almost an hour late and we were never made to feel uncomfortable. Other guests were all greeted warmly by the host (owner?) and it seemed that she knew and remembered everyone. Those she didn't know she tried to make feel like old friends. I wouldn't be able to afford frequent dinners here but if I could I would want to make it at least once a week. Highly recommend!Parking: The street parking was plentiful enough but the city has recently restricted it to 2 hours until 8 PM. Businesses on the block are trying to get this changed back to 5 PM, which would be helpful.

Overpriced, drab decor, needs an overhaul. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good, but you have to bring more than that when you're charging $24 for a plate of gnocchi. This place is what it was like to get Italian food in the 80's. The server was a bit stiff and unwelcoming. It was not a fun experience at all. It felt very stuffy.

Have done both. ✔️ Friends & I have lunched there & we've gotten dinner to go as well.So flavorful! Had the Mediterranean pasta & others, hey they all totally satisfied our Italian craving. ?. A little hidden gem that is affordable, nicely done inside too! Thanks Sages! You Rock & we ❤️ you!

We had a lovely tasty Italian meal as a large party. The wait staff handled our group of 9 with skill, ease, and grace and humor. I had ravioli with sun dried tomatoes (vegetarian) and their special pink sauce. I polished it off. Yum! Ps. My friend had gluten free pork.

Decent food, good atmosphere. Waitress was rude about demanding the tip. I left a tip that she felt was low. She came to me aggressively asking about the tip “is this what you are leaving for me”. To avoid the conflict at the moment, I increased the tip, but I am never coming back here again and advising my network and neighbors to stay away from this place. Good luck to the owners. You need to provide basic behavioral training to your waiters.

Delicious food. Had the chicken gorgonzola and my friend had the salmon. We'll prepared, generous portions and very friendly staff. A bit crowded as it is a small place, but it is a very nice restaurant.

I reached there at 8:45 pm (I had made a call earlier to confirm when they could take us in) I was taken-in after roughly 15 minutes and that’s when the front desk attendant said, “Did I tell you we have a Valentine’s day special menu?”. When I saw the menu, there was just one vegetarian option (I am a vegetarian). Menu cost per person? I think 59$. I wasted my time driving there and waiting in line. It was 9 pm and most of the restaurants were closing by that time. (Being a vegetarian, it gets tough to find restaurants in the last hour). I decided to leave. I think, if you have special menu you should inform people right away.

An unpleasant experience because of the waiter serving our table. Food was good but the male waiter was so rude, didn’t even look at me and asked me to turn up my voice unfriendly.

Greatest Italian on the Eastside by far. Staff are so inviting and will remember you after your first visit. Get the tomato soup .. I don’t know what’s in it, but it’s unreal - I don’t even normally like tomato soup, but wow. Add a montepulciano and a post-dinner espresso/tiramisu and you’re in for a good night.

Its our first time at the The Sages. We were seated within 10 minutes. We ordered Smoke Salman pasta, Shrimp Scampi, Linguini Rustica and Wife's favorite pasta. All the mains are fantastic. Food was so tasty. We had to order Tiramisu and Creme Brulee. We enjoyed our food so much we will be back

Great low key Italian restaurant perfect for a date night or if you’re on a diet.I admit that usually when I want Italian food, I just want to mainline a dump truck load of pasta and meat covered in cream sauce and a blanket of Parmesan cheese and then pass out shortly afterwards. My favourite Italian restaurants tend to cater to this ungentlemanly habit of mine, but this one denies me from following through with my worst tendencies while still satisfying the beast within.Glancing at the menu, you might first get the impression that the food here is kind of boring. Meat and cheese appear very sparingly and there are a number of Italian classics missing like chicken Parmesan, eggplant Parmesan, lasagna, calamari, pizza, veal, and probably many more. Blasphemy!I passed this place over for a while for exactly that reason, but me and my wife finally took a chance here the other day and I’m glad we did.The place is in a really quiet part of town and I get the feeling not many people know about it. It was an evening on a weekend and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The atmosphere was very calm, warm and relaxing and the interior looked nice. The building is older and isn’t like most new places around here these days that are modern, metal and concrete. It was a proper dining room indeed and it felt refreshingly fancy without being overly pretentious. The menu and portion sizes are a little more restrained than other Italian places I frequent, but the food is great and the prices aren’t too outrageous.I got the Linguine Rustica and even though it wasn’t the obscenely large plate of food I tend to go after, it was absolutely delicious, hit all the right spots and I wasn’t still hungry afterwards. My wife got one of the other pasta dishes and loved it. We got also got some wine which very good and reasonably priced. The staff was also very welcoming, personable and attentive.Even though they didn’t have some of the classics that you would normally expect from an Italian restaurant and they’re a little conservative with the meat and cheese, their food is subtly sophisticated and will absolutely satisfy a craving for Italian and you’ll feel like a civilised human being while eating it.I imagine if you were to take a first date here they would be impressed. You won’t gross them out by eating too much and should be able to perform later. If this restaurant were a person, it would be an attractive 42 year old woman who takes good care of herself, wears mature but fashionable clothes in darker muted colors, is a professional of some kind and doesn’t have kids
