I have no idea why places like this ask the "how likely are you to recommend..." question, given that no-one, ever, has this implied conversation. Just stop it.

If there's a zero rating, that would be my rating because they didn't know what they were doing, especially that one guy named Marco or Mario. Before I set this appointment up, I specifically asked for an experienced tax preparer and he was totally inexperienced. They don't try enough to help the filer by asking for donations made from the tax year to help our tax situation, so it was a disadvantageous for the filer. I would've done a better job filing for my tax returns by just using TurboTax. This is my first and last time that I'll be going to a Jackson Hewitt tax preparer in my lifetime.

Renton location was great for filing my taxes! Phong and Lilian were very helpful and willing to take on my complicated taxes, having to file for additional paperwork and for state and local taxes as I had lived on the east coast for half of 2021. I booked appointment and was able to drop off paperwork and come back to complete in the next day. The ladies are very thorough, knowledgeable and gave me confidence filing my taxes. 5 star rating and definitely will file here again!

First appointment on Thursday the tax person said she did not have enough experience. Scheduled me for today Sunday at 3pm. Got there and he had not even started on the 2:30 appt before me. He should have contacted me saying he was running late. He’s fumbling along with the 2:30 appt while I wait 35 min and it’s still sounding confusing, disorganized, and phone call has to be made. I left. I have no idea if he could have helped me. I have my doubts. I’m going elsewhere.

I wish I could give this place no stars. What an extremely terrible experience. There is an English language barrier at this branch. The lady that helped me file my taxes, kept saying excuse me, that she was having trouble with her English today. It got to the point of finalizing my taxes, where at which point she was confused and I think didn’t understand my questions and was unable to answer my questions. She instead laughed at me, which I didn’t find their failure to provide tax services very funny, and decided to just leave instead. At which point she came out to my car, gave me a copy of the paperwork filed with no explanation of anything and that a Jackson Hewitt manager would be contacting me to discuss and fix any issues I was having with my taxes. The manager called shortly there after to notify my she had my file and was going to look it over and call me back next day. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t gotten any calls. I’ve called the branch repeatedly, where they’re still having communication issues and can’t seem to tell me much about what I paid for or why they took payment from me. I had to call repeatedly to try and ask questions about how to make payments to the IRS, all of which should have been explained to me as part of the services I was paying for. I’m a small business and don’t feel like my tax person helped me in any way at all, with absolutely zero suggestions on how to save my business money, nor could she read the questions on the screen correctly and was making me answer the questions incorrectly, because there’s an English language barrier. I work from home, which there’s an expense spot for rent paid and how much square footage of said rent is used for work space. She didn’t seem to understand that very well, and wouldn’t let me enter any dollar amount for my rent, but entered the square footage of usage only. Not sure how IRS calculates rent expense without the totals? I got burnt by Jackson Hewitt in Renton on Benson hill on 108th. They collected almost $500 from me to file my taxes, and completely messed them all up, didn’t recognize the mistakes until after filed, and now nobody is returning my calls and only person I can speak with at the branch, is having communication issues. I explained that a manager was supposed to be calling me, and I got told to just make the payment because they didn’t understand I was being told someone was to be calling me back first. I definitely had more deductions coming to me, and seems a tax specialist should have suggestions on ways to deduct certain types of expenses. Some of my expenses I got told weren’t expenses, but I’m pretty sure she didn’t know where to file properly. None the less, now it’s the wait and see if I get audited game. This office needs to be closed, nobody in this office can answer questions.

It takes a lot for me to post a bad review. It takes even more for me to post a bad review for something as mundane as tax preparation.The folks at this Jackson Hewitt, at least on the day my wife and I were there - 02/19/2022 simply don't know what they're doing.We spent over 1.5 hours there watching our tax preparer gaze in confusion at literally every single document that wasn't a W-2. They also needed to consult with the only other person there for literally every single document. They were both heavily confused and needed to phone a supervisor twice during our time there.Eventually, we were told that they wanted us to leave our documents there and come back later so they could have a supervisor look everything over. At that point, all trust was lost in them accurately completing our tax return. We chose to end the process and go to the H&R Block in the shopping center behind us, where a competent tax preparer was able to complete our return in about half an hour.Do yourself a favor and go to the H&R Block in the adjacent shopping center, or at least go to a different Jackson Hewitt location.

I have filed with Jackson Hewitt for the past 4 years and they have always provided great service. This year I visited the Bellevue office and worked with Rosary who provided excellent service and Helped me get the best return possible! I highly recommend the Jackson Hewitt in Bellevue for your tax preparation needs!!
