While I love the local Safeway, corporate policies and underfunded staffing make this store a quagmire of disfunction and frustration. 1) The Safeway app for discounts (which is probably illegal because of access to smartphones or computers in order to use them) is confusing and often causes blockages at checkouts. These problems have to be solved by the checkers. Shame on your management for incompetence and a laziness to gather marketing numbers through dubious mechanisms. 2) When the one (yes only 1) checker cannot possibly be available for the 4-5 stack of people wanting to check out, one can only resort to the self checkout option. I would like my check for working for your company to do my checking that you very much.
To add insult to injury the self checkout is limited to 15 items or less.
I realize that the Safeway Corporation has merged with our local Hagen's which is a wonderful shopping experience although higher prices. I will no longer shop the local Safeway through no fault of the local staff, but the unconnected middle managers who should have their salaries cut for underperformance and customer dissatisfaction.

This Safeway offers a comprehensive shopping experience. One-stop shopping is indeed a convenient option.
My wife and I made a brief visit to utilize the restroom, which is strategically located at the rear of the store.
The eggs and produce are remarkably fresh. One can efficiently procure all necessary items. I intend to return if I am in the vicinity again.

Everything is ok but the deli department. The two ladies work there have zero customer service or respect for customers. Also they don’t wear gloves when they work with food especially the old lady. Please take care of that and make them aware of how important to respect customers and wear gloves.
As of 2/20/2024 I want to add something. Western union services always down in Safeway Sunset Blvd and the lady over there always not happy to help. we deserve to have the western union service available in safeway especially it’s working everywhere else. I didn’t believe the lady when she said the system is down and I visited Walgreen less than a mile away and the system was working fine . Please take care of this issue.

The location of this safeway is great, its right next to the library and other shops and pretty close to my home.Its very clean and the hot food always smells amazing. The staff is usually polite and will help you if you need it. Their sellection of products is standard for a safeway of this size, which brings me to my biggest complaint.Its way too small, if you're not going at an unusal hour its probably packed full of people and you're squeezing by others to just go down an isle.

If you have a few things to get on the way home. it's perfect for that.i found everything I needed in twenty minutes. I spent less than 70$, on my weeks groceries (single). I would recommend bringing in your cart from the parking lot. As few were available.Quick cashier's to check you out. I think an ? booth needs to be with the singles beers stock. Saw a couple of underage friends looking at them.
