This place holds a special place in my heart. I used to come every summer as a kid, not that long ago given I’m still young. I randomly had the late night urge to look it up again. I have such fond memories of this place. The people were always extremely nice. I’m not sure if the dogs are still there, but they were just the nicest to me. I remember always chatting with Jack, I felt like I had a connection to him as a kid cause we shared a name. I love this place so much. I desperately want to go back again once I have an opportunity. It’s just the happiest place in the world to me.

Wanted to stay longer! We were there 5/4/23~5/7/23. Sandy is amazing. So positive, so caring, so attentive! Jack and Jake were also attentive and any time we walked or drove by the office, they were there for a chat or a wave.Full disclosure, we arrived about 7:30pm Thurs eve. Sandy was right there to inform us that unfortunately, their water pump wasn’t working. She had tried to reach us but we were out of cell service while traveling. It’s a good thing, because this place is a GEM! She had already arranged for a cabin on the same lake at a different resort, Black Beach. The owner of Black Beach, Eric, was super accommodating. Their cabins are amazing too!! Sandy did not charge us for Thurs night, and the cabin at Black Beach was taken care of for us, at no charge. By Fri morning, they had the water up and flowing again. They all said they have never experienced that in the 30 years they’ve owned it. Sandy and Jack~here’s hoping it doesn’t happen again for another 30 years!Back to the rest of the story…Arrived Fri, storms expected all weekend, and lots of rain. That doesn’t scare me or my husband much. Arrived to the cutest little rustic cabin, #10 on the hill, with beautiful views of the lake right in front of us as we walked in. Beautifully manicured resort, wildlife galore. If a bird watcher, it’s amazing. To the right of the front porch, yes a porch, is a short trail to the dock for fishing….or whatever. Next time we may bring a small boat! The docks have boat slips. The cabin and the dock felt very private. The beds are comfy. A bit confused as to why we must bring own bedding and towels as I’ve never experienced that before but, it was minor compared to all the benefits we received. My husband and I had the absolutely best time just hanging out, fishing on and off, exploring the area.Lastly, and certainly, most importantly, it is not “service” you receive, but you are a family from the moment you meet them.We will be back, my husband is booking again for next month!

it all started as an average hotel stay at Fisherman's Cove. On the third day, my partner got tummy upset. Having offered kanji in the room we ventured to Seagull where we bumped into Mr Vishal Shrivastav who greeted us at the entrance late, he observed my partner is not having her meal when we mentioned my partner's state of affairs when he promptly called his sous chef Tapan Sahoo who prepared a special meal which helped her to get through. Mr Tapan promptly took upon him the responsibility of having to follow up on my partner throughout and also provided her with an appropriate dinner. The next day when we walked into "The seagull" the executive Chef Mr Ramachandraan introduced himself and said that his Sous chef mentioned us, and he will be pleased to help that day as MrTapan has a day off, By this time My partner has recovered and she could have a regular meal. We were amazed by the resolve of this establishment to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and how well they communicate with each other. On another occasion Mr Manoj from Seagull heard about her throat being affected by the constant aircon everywhere in Chennai - (We every time sat out on the terrace ) he offered warm water which we thought was so thoughtful again. Mr Kennedy in the Bay view, is an asset to the establishment, having picked up on the likes could get the kitchen to prepare to suit, The whole one-week experience was excellent, we will continue to support Taj. We are grateful for the care.

When you stay here your family and very much treated like family. The owners and staff are very accommodating and go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. Out of all the guests here this past weekend 6/17-6/19, we were the only ones there I think who were a first timer. Everyone else there was on a yearly tradition. That right there should tell you everything you need to know about this place and how wonderful it is.We stayed in Cabin 7. It was perfect size for our family and the bed was comfortable. This cabin is centrally located in the resort and has a great view of the lake from the front porch. The kids were able to get fishing poles from the general store on site and spent almost 8 hours fishing off their 3 docks. There's a reason why they call it Fisherman's Cove because everyone was catching fish. The snack shack has a wide variety of food to choose from and everything we ate was delicious. It even has an espresso machine which is a life saver for coasties like us who have a Starbucks on every corner at home who depend on coffee in the morning. Also a side note is if you don't bring your own food, the nearest restaurant is over 10 miles away and has very limited hours. No other resort on the lake has a snack shack like this either that I was able to find.Just like everyone else we met this weekend, we will be back to stay again & again at Fisherman's Cove Resort.

I love Fisherman's Cove Resort! I started staying there on business trips long ago and it was so beautiful and peaceful I started coming back for vacations. The cabins are rustic but fairly clean. The cabins up on the peninsula that extends out into the lake have the best views, but all cabins I've stayed in have at least partial views of the lake. The resort rents sit-on-top kayaks and, I think, boats too. The snack shack has good breakfast and burger type food, although they aren't always open in the off season. The cabins, though, maybe all of them, have fridges and stoves and microwaves. The snack shack is all outdoor dining or takeout. And you can buy homemade ice cream sandwiches in the resort store that are truly to die for! The county-owned Rail Trail (trail on an abandoned railroad grade) is nearby -- it runs down the west side of the lake and you can hike for miles, all the way to Canada if you want. The Stonerose Eocene fossil beds in nearby Republic are a lot of fun -- you pay a small fee and can dig fossils and take some home! The Stonerose museum in town has nice fossils on display too. There are small mining ghost towns you can see on day trips and, when the border opens again, you can do a day trip into Canada, maybe 30 miles to the north. The Republic and Curlew Lake area has a lot of unusual and interesting things to do, and it doesn't get as much tourist traffic as other parts of the state since it's fairly remote. On this trip we stayed in Cabin 11, which has a wonderful view up the lake to the north; last year I stayed in Cabin 14, which has an equally lovely view down the lake to the south. Both cabins had beavers swimming by every morning and bald eagles twittering in the tall conifer trees above the cabins. We also saw pileated woodpeckers this year -- close-up views from our cabin window.

Wow! What a beautiful resort! Spent 7 nights so we could have our summer vacation with my wife’s brother and family and we couldn’t have been happier! We did an RV spot right next to our daughter and her family and we were literally steps from the lake. So beautiful to look out our RV and see the beautiful lake. Everyone that works there is so nice from Janice who takes care of booking to Jack and Sandy who own the resort to their nephew who takes care of maintenance and getting boats ready, etc. But by far the funniest, friendliest person was the lady taking orders at the restaurant. She had us in stitches laughing at her humor! Did you hear me? Yes! A restaurant at a lakeside fishing resort that is so remote. People come from all over the area just to eat there. I have to say they have great food and not once were we unhappy with our food. Beautiful flowers line the driveway leading into the resort and every cabin and building has these amazing beautiful flowers everywhere! Sandy grows them in her greenhouse. Everything you need is there except for laundry facilities. There was a huge family takeover of all the cabins but they were so friendly and invited us all to watch movies on their large outdoor movie screen. Definitely can’t wait to go back next year. In fact, we booked it while we were there!

We liked it. Outside seating with shade at the little restaurant. Friendly cook. Kinda pricey. We got a captains basket and a shrimp basket. It tasted good. There was a lot too.

Wonderful, clean, cozy cabins. Please respect the rules; management is kind, helpful, do *not* feed the dogs. Septic, incredible shower; like a home away from home. Gorgeous views. Would love to return here!
