CTC came in and did a small-medium size remodel in my rental. They didn’t play the change order game and they stayed within budget. They will be my go to contractor now, wish I would have figured this out a little sooner.

I almost got hit by one of their trucks on Columbia center blvd! This guy was driving so crazy was tailing everyone and kept swerving into my lane and when I backed off he cut me off. Idk if he was drunk or what but it was scary!

If you are looking to do some remodeling and don’t mind constant delays and excuses then this is the company for you. We signed a contract to remodel our kitchen and dining room in August 2021 with the understanding that work would not begin until all the materials were available and ready to be installed. We were given start dates in November and then changed to December due to the cupboards not being ready. Despite my questions about continuing holdups on the cupboards I was assured they would be done on time. Needless to say, they were not and when finally cabinet boxes were put up on February 7 they had been, among other problems, measured wrong and filler pieces were used to cover the gaps. The cabinets had no doors. They were being manufactured by a separate company located in Idaho whereas the cabinets were made locally. After missing several deadlines for the doors to be available, and problems with the cabinet boxes , CTC decided to start all over with another cabinet company. The original company, Legacy, that I was assured at the beginning was reliable and they had used many times has since gone out of business. Finally, 14 months later in June another company was hired and now in October 2022 they have been installed and our project has completed after 14 long months.Along the way there were other delays usually lasting a few days or a week for things that could’ve been taken care of right away. No thought was given to the inconvenience to us of living in a dusty disorganized construction project longer than was necessary. Some examples:The electrical rough in was done and we were told that the drywall could not be done until the electrical inspection. We waited and waited for the electrical inspection and finally the drywall was done without it at which point we were told inspection wasn’t necessary.Only upper cabinets were to be replaced after removal of dropped ceiling with existing lower cabinets remaining. With dry wall and ceiling done, we asked to have the flooring installed while the cabinets were “delayed”. We were told that it wasn’t possible because cabinets were “never” installed before flooring. After another delay of week or more with they decided it was okay to put in flooring after all.When the installer showed up to put in the baseboard, they discovered that it had been measured wrong and was shortDue to a large turnover of management and supervisory positions, there is a lack of continuity and communication. We began with a project manager and a project supervisor and by the end those positions had been filled by seven different people. At least one had scant experience in the building trades were given little training or mentoring to succeed. And with each new person promises were made that they would get things moving. And as if it were a consolation, we were told we weren’t the only people having problems and more than one person changed jobs in the company or quit from the stress of dealing with angry customers. Subcontractors we’re not given much oversight. Rarely did anyone show up to make sure that the job was being done to our satisfaction, but at least they did show up if there was a complaint. It would seem that CTC takes on more projects than they can handle and overload their managers and supervisors. Many times was told by a supervisor that they couldn’t come by because they had 7 or 8 other jobs needing attention.Due to a large turnover of management and supervisory positions, there is a lack of continuity and communication. We began with a project manager and a project supervisor and by the end those positions had been filled by seven different people. I used Cliff Thorn to install a new bathroom and shower along with a renovated mother in law suite. They did an excellent job and the project managers were very responsive throughout the entire process. Most importantly they finished without going over the initial budget. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! ? If I could give 10 stars ? I would. Very great team, knowledgeable in all the many questions I had and also information on different products I want to incorporate in my full remodel. Needless to say my wife is very picky and particular about what she wanted and how she wanted it. CTC has given BIG accommodations and has worked as team to get things done. I'm impressed with such detail they have given. So I highly recommend this company not only for the great quality but the staff goes above and beyond any other company I have done business with. Wanna give John a big thank you for always delivering. And thanks to Google for the reviews I was able to review before making a chose to use them for my remodel.
