Don't pass this place up. Make sure you get Salad with the prosciutto + Mozzarella di bufala because the prosciutto is top-notch. I wonder if they make it in-house. The seating could be better spaced, sitting next to people with noxious odors is ruinous to one's meal. It happens. Not everyone is obsessively body-aware. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed (certainly not her fault) which could have been remedied with an eye to careful staffing. One of our guests ordered the lamb rack and at $35 I was surprised at the underwhelming quality of the cut. I am glad I did not order that. Tweek a few things and this could be the WOW house of little Italy!

Some of the best Italian food I have ever had. Had three desserts and they were all delicious!! Ate at the bar today. Small but the same great food.

My recent visit to this restaurant left me with mixed feelings. The food, while good, was overshadowed by a general lack of service. We had reservations and called ahead to inform the restaurant about our slight delay due to work. We were about 5 min behind schedule and were told it wasn't an issue. We even said we could be up to 15 minutes late to leave a buffer. The initial assurance was comforting, but upon arrival 7min late, we were met with passive-aggressive remarks about keeping them waiting. To add to the frustration, we were rushed to order quickly, with the unsettling statement that the next table would take our spot if we didn't order asap and mean we will be waiting a long time. Spending close to $300 should come with a more relaxed dining experience. To top it off, despite settling our checks, we were abruptly asked to leave to make room for another group. This left a sour taste, overshadowing the otherwise decent meal.

What a lovely place. Excellent food, staff and atmosphere. They told us we would have a long wait for our food but we didn’t. They were quick. The drinks were so good. They even gave the birthday girl a card and dessert. Made her feel special. And a gentleman whom I assume was the owner checked on us several times. We will be back.

My wife and I wanted to get a table in the bar but did not have a reservation. Waited for a few minutes outside and right as we poked our heads back in Chase was preparing our table in the window for us. We were there to celebrate and Chase made us feel very taken care of. Caesar with fried capers was great, Syrah was delicious, they had a special that night of gnocchi with scallops which I really enjoyed. My wife also had gnocchi which she said was great, just a little bit too much cheese. We both have spent our fair share of time working at restaurants and something I noticed multiple times was our wonderful server Chase having to deal with another server who just didn’t seem to be up to the task. Not sure what his deal was but he was very awkward and almost comically unfit. Almost forgot, the Tiramisu is spot on.

My partner and I recently came for our fourth year anniversary. Two years ago we had our first visit and LOVED this place. Sadly our most recent visit was not the same experience. We ordered two drinks, the meaty pizza, the linguine pescator, the tiramisu and lemon cake, and a margarita pizza to go. The mocktails tasted great and started us off well. Being alcohol intolerant, I was glad to not be excluded in a delicious alternative. However everything started going down hill. The arancini balls were so sweet. I am not familiar with proper arancini, but the red sauce and peppers was the savior of the dish’s overly sweet taste. When the main course came, it was even more of a disappointment. The meaty pizza came out so salty. Yes there’s cured meats with cheeses but again the balance was thrown off. My pasta, REEKED of alcohol. As I tried to look past the smell, I could even taste it, showing that the chef didn’t cook it all the way through. After 3 bites I was done. When I had mentioned this to my waitress, she graciously told me essentially to “bring it home, and it might be better”. Thankfully we ordered desserts and ate both with no issues. They were the highlight of our meal. My gf was still hungry after not being able to eat her meaty pizza, we ordered a basic margarita pizza to go. I was intentional in making Macaluso’s a must go for special occasions, but with this last visit my partner and I are thinking otherwise. If we’re going to spend $200+ on food. We’d rather enjoy the full meal.

We have been here multiple times and it is by far our favorite restaurant in Tacoma. Jessica our server and both hostesses on Friday night March 8th were incredible. Our food, cocktails, wine and dessert were to die for. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you to the team for making my week!

Fantastic Italian "hole in the wall" restaurant. Jessica, our server was fantastic and super personable. They don't just have the standard Italian fare either, there was Osso Bucco on the menu! The owner even took time to chat with us about the place. I can't recommend it highly enough.

A great atmosphere and amazing staff. A mocktail in the bar while waiting for a table was delicious and refreshing. The Caesar salad was a great size to split and the penne arrabiata was amazing.

4th time here. Pretty similar last few years. Food is still amazing and on point. Like all good places, get a reservation or arrive earlier than you want to eat.

The food here was delicious but if I’m spending $40 on a plate I shouldn’t be hungry after. Disappointed in the pasta serving size ?
