Our family has been using Pacific Learning Academy tutors for years and recently we have enrolled our two kids in some 1:1 full time classes. We are extremely happy with the results. PLA has been a great way to supplement the public middle and high school instruction our children have received from Lake Washington School District. Love the care and service the administration provides both in pre-planning and during instruction.

We used PLA for classes required for high school graduation for both of my kids. Their flexible schedule and supportive instructors were exactly what we needed given our specific needs. Michelle and the instructors we had over the years were responsive and showed that they really cared about my kids and their wellbeing. It was a great partnership, and I am very thankful for the help they provided.

We love Pacific Learning Academy! We were looking for help with academics for our HS child, and from day 1, I was comforted by Lois’s patience, compassion, and flexibility, not to mention her commitment to find a tutor who is a great fit for our child and her learning/coping style.Five months later, thanks to Lois and Anthony, our child’s mental health and ours is significantly better. Less day-to-day anxiety and conflict in our home, more positivity and self-esteem for our child. Our child even wants to do some hard courses over the summer with PLA to get ahead! She has never before requested stuff like this before!! And it goes without saying that her grades are better, and she is loving being confident and successful.We highly recommend PLA to any family where there is a lot of conflict between parents and children over academic performance and resulting behavioral/mental health issues.

I have been very happy with Pacific Learning Academy this year! My daughter is taking two classes in person, and it's the perfect environment for her after struggling with ADHD and mental health issues most of last year. I used to spend a fortune on tutoring every week in the hopes of a B or C in difficult subjects, and now she is a thriving A student. What and how she is learning this year is going to set her up nicely as she transitions to college next year!

We're one of those families that says "Why didn't we know about Pacific Learning Academy before?". After my daughter struggled with math at Eastlake HS in her freshman and sophomore years, we decided to give up on math classes at Eastlake when we found out that she could take up to 3 credits at PLA with grades going on her official Eastlake transcript. She is taking Geometry this year as a Junior in a one-on-one class with a PLA teacher and loves it. She finally understands the material, the class goes at her pace, and she can ask all the clarifying questions she needs to without feeling self-conscious in front of other students. She’s learning the same curriculum as students at Eastlake, but in way less time. In fact, I was so surprised to find out that 1 year in a traditional high school classroom is the equivalent of only about 55 hours of one-on-one teaching at PLA. My daughter started Geometry with her PLA teacher at the start of the school year in September and is on track to finish in January. She will retake Algebra 1 when she’s done with Geometry (and the new Alg 1 grade from her PLA class will replace her previous 2 years of Alg 1 at Eastlake). Next year, in her senior year, she will be taking Algebra 2. I should also mention that my daughter is doing so well in her PLA math class that she’s getting As and we expect that will continue in her subsequent PLA math classes. Since her PLA grades go on her Eastlake transcript, that means that the As will be calculated into her official GPA as if they are any other Eastlake class, which is awesome.What about things like quality of the education at PLA and the cost? The teacher who has been working with our daughter is fantastic. She keeps my daughter engaged twice a week for 1.5 hours per class (no small feat!), she is organized, communicative (she provides a summary of each day’s lesson in PLA’s portal), knows the material, and even better, is able to help my daughter understand math for pretty much the first time in her life (that’s saying a lot since she's had several math tutors work over the years who we thought were more effective than maybe they actually were). The cost is surprisingly reasonable, and tbh, totally worth it. We’re not super wealthy like some other families in Sammamish, but I don’t even care how much it costs because my daughter is having a great experience with something that has always frustrated her, my husband and I don’t have to try to help her with math (which has never gone well), and she’s getting As (!!). PLA is a wonderful resource and the company really cares. They do an excellent job keeping in touch with us and communicating their policies, curriculum etc. I’m so glad we found PLA before it was too late. If your child is struggling in school, you should talk with PLA about how they can help. This is a high quality solution and can help give kids the confidence they need to feel like they can succeed academically.Thank you, PLA!

I have had the opportunity of working with Pacific Learning Academy and more specifically with Sam. As an older student (quite a bit older than all the high schoolers), I thought that learning a language is going to be challenging but Lois assured me that it won't be that difficult and Sam has made my journey learning Spanish fun and easy.She has brought me to the point that I don't make many embarrassing mistakes when speaking in Spanish! I'd recommend the Academy to anyone else looking to learn a language.

Highly recommend PLA! We have used them for both math tutoring and class credit to replace deficiencies with the LWSD teaching model. If your kid needs personalized 1:1 support, PLA is a great alternative to what is provided at the school or district level.
