Just had a great experience with Samantha at this Safeway. We bought flowers for a friend and Samantha went out of her way to offer a fresh cut for the flowers. Not only did she do that, she ended up wrapping them in beautiful, coordinating tissue paper and arranged them in a gorgeous presentation. Furthermore, she did this while cutting into her own break time. Haven’t had such a positive and unexpected customer service experience in a long time.

Who would have thought a grocery monopoly leads to locked merchandise, poor selection, and understaffing

Now that it is Safeway there is a lot more stock, a lot more meat , probably more waste and higher prices all the way round.

Staff isn't as chill as I'd like, often get uncomfortable looks and the occasional employee follow for no reason other than being stereotyped and it doesn't matter how many times I prove them wrong when I spend hundreds of dollars on groceries every month.

Be mindful to look at expirations/best by dates. This store has burned me a few times with items significantly past their best by or expiration dates. Everything from the quick serve soups which I have found at times are weeks past their respective expiry dates to cold items months past best by dates.
I've also seen everything packaged moldy cheese to meats which have gone bad but still on the self for days before someone removes them.
Their produce also leave a lot to be desired, many times I get green potatoes to onions which are just plain old.
It's very unfortunate and I'm not sure if this is a corporate issue and or a management issue. I suspect this is a corporate issue as I have run into this same issue at other stores owned by the same holding company.
Just picked up a pack of these frozen meats...they are selling stuff from last year based on the expiration date. This is just 1 example of several.

This store fired Adam Ray many years ago, at which point he moved to LA and became one of the funniest comedians ever. Thank you this Albertsons!

Very convenient to get to and the staff is very friendly, however it would be nice if they would substitute any of their hundreds of IPAs to make room for a Brown Ale. Newcastle would be great, or perhaps Alesmith's. The single bottles of Samuel Smith carried are expensive and not as satisfying.
Carry the items that your regulars would like to purchase and they are much more likely to stay regulars and you can increase their basket size. Just saying. :)

Please hire a better bakery decorator! Looks terrible for a $50 cake! I’ve complained about this before and thought this was resolved. Shame on management.

Horribly overpriced. Edited in response to Albertsons: Met market prices are similar to these prices with better quality in a cleaner, friendlier environment even with my loyalty membership. Grocery outlet, Trader Joes, Winco, even Krogers generally has better pricing. I simply won’t be back.

Good to have a grocery this close to home.

Constantly selling old produce. Green potatoes, moldy tomatoes. Also expired meat products are common on the shelves. For most things you can tell, but not everything has dates and is visible until you cut into it.
High prices, low quality.
