If there was a way to give negative star, I would.I made an online appointment to repair an exhaust joint on my car. I used the online scheduler, specifying the scope of work (replace a flex pipe connection) and set a time for this morning at 0900 hrs. I receive two email confirmations and a reminder of the appointment for this morning. I scheduled time off from work, and then arrived at the shop at 0845 hrs.I was told that their 'exhaust specialist' has Mondays off and that I could not have my vehicle repaired. When I told them I had scheduled the appointment, received confirmation from Meineke, and the emailed reminder of the appointment, I was told that it is not their software, it's Meineke's program and they don't pay attention to it.HUH? Who is running this circus? This clown cost me over $350 in lost wages today, and I will have to find another shop in the area who DOES honor their scheduled commitments and take even MORE time off.My intention is to take them to small claims court for the money they cost me. Maybe if it starts costing them some consequences, they will start treating customers right.Avoid this place like the plague.

They don't deserve 1 star- it should be ZERO. They don't take accountability for their own incompetency. NEVER come here. On July 22, 2022, I took my car to get serviced, specifically to replace my spark plugs, fuel emissions and fuel injection service, and a 23 point vehicle inspection. A week later, I used my windshield wipers and they weren't working. They worked prior to Meineke servicing my car. I automatically thought it was Meineke's failure but the weather was nice so I decided to delay getting it checked out. When it started to rain on October 21, 2022, I went to Pep Boys to assess what the issue was. Pep Boys called me and asked if my car was serviced by another shop and I told them it was Meineke. Pep Boys determined that the wiper motor harness was disconnected which they fixed and my wipers worked again. Pep Boys charged me for a diagnostic fee which I agreed to. I then spoke with Kevin from Meineke and he told me that his men in fact accessed my windshield wipers component when they worked on my car and I told him I would like to be compensated for what I paid Pep Boys in the amount of $217.06 as it was Meineke's failure to connect the wiper motor harness that resulted in the failure of my wipers. Kevin told me that Pep Boys should have reached out to Meineke so they would have the opportunity to fix it, and even went as far as to ask me if I gave Pep Boys permission to work on my car and asked if they fixed the issue, and asked why Pep Boys didn't call him. I told him I authorized the work and that it didn't make sense that Pep Boys would not resolve the issue when they were all ready working on the car, and that Pep Boys did not owe them anything. It was raining that day and what kind of poor customer service would that have been to not fix the issue, and potentially put my life at risk because my wipers didn't work? All I want is for Meineke to take accountability and do the right thing by compensating me for what Pep Boys charged me. If it wasn't for the lack of competence that Meineke exhibited, I wouldn't have needed to pay for a service that could have been prevented. I even went in person as Kevin told me to and gave Kevin copies of the work order and my receipt from Pep Boys. Kevin took over 2 weeks to get back to me since he originally said that he needed to bring this attention to the owner or the person who makes big decisions. He said that the best they could offer was store credit that was less than what I paid Pep Boys. I asked him what made him think I would return to them ever again since they were so incompetent and that I was not satisfied with their response. I also said that the amount he offered didn't even cover what I paid Pep Boys and he gave me a lame explanation that I didn't even care to understand because at that point, it was all about principles for me. I then asked for their corporate/headquarter's contact information and he gave me this:
[email protected] also filed a complaint with the Washington Attorney General's Office and Meineke chose to ignore it. No surprise.

After Toyota of Seattle took advantage of me which left me stranded in my wheelchair without my van for over a week I had a mental break due to trying to get Toyota to fix their mistake, I was saved by Karl and the great people at Meineke. Seeing my mental break and how upset I was Karl paid for my tow himself and Meineke fixed what Toyota refused to do in two minutes. These people are good and honest people that should be proud of that and will take care of you and your vehicle. Thanks sooooo much guys. I appreciate you.Much LoveRyan

The Maintenance Minder on my 2008 Honda Fit Sport was displaying "B-1" (oil change, tire rotation, & safety check.) I had become disenchanted with my previous auto service provider so I decided to give this one a try. What a refreshing discovery! Friendly staff, easy scheduling, clean waiting area, up-front pricing, and best of all THEY LISTENED. Even though I was waiting in lobby,I received a comprehensive inspection report via email that was very clear in explaining everything - it even included a bunch of helpful photos supporting /illustrating their findings and recommendations. After I reviewed it all carefully, I was given agency to decide which repairs I could go ahead with and which I'd hold off on until next time. I WAS NOT PRESSURED AT ALL! I ended up spending a little bit more than the oil change but felt good about it because of how I was treated. The Technician Jeff even went "above and beyond" by polishing a headlamp assembly that had gotten very foggy with age. The Inspection Report recommended replacing the entire assembly but Jeff found a way to do the next best thing at minimal cost to me. He did this without me even asking for an alternative to the expensive replacement. I was surprised and delighted. I wish every "chain" service center was this good with customer service. I'll definitely be back!

I had the most disheartening experience here today, A semi truck crashed into my car at the intersection right next to this meineke and left my car underivable. I had to wait for a tow truck in my car in the meineke parking lot with my 1 year old in the 80 degree weather for almost 4 hours. I was going to pee my pants at some point I walked into the meineke as I had used the bathroom In there before just a few short months back (with absolutely no problems, the men working the front desk told me to go right ahead) because they are one of the only businesses around that area. I was met with one of the most unprofessional, unhappy, and heartless humans I've ever met... he promptly hung up the phone after yelling at someone and looked at me and said " I have 4 callers infront of you" I said ... "I'm just wondering if I could use the bathroom PLEASE" he said "No are you a customer? Customers only" he then insinuated I was in there to steal something, I explained to him my car is the crashed car sitting 5 feet from his front door and I'm waiting for a tow truck, he told me to " find somewhere else" and was beyond disrespectful, heartless and rude to someone clearly in a very unfortunate situation. The nearest bathroom is over train tracks blocks away at a jack in the box.... With a 1 year old in tow... in 80 degree weather... also while I waited there I watched him walk outside and treat other customers like garbage as well. Do better meineke.

After repairing the car here, there was an abnormal sound, and then I went to another repair shop to check that it was the problem caused by the repair of this shop. Finally, this shop refused to admit that there was a problem with their repair. When I entrusted other shops to open it for repair, I found that this company had charged me $2,000 to replace the parts, and did not replace them at all. Finally, I asked this shop for a refund, but they refused to accept it.

I've taken my other used Hondas for a cheap oil change with their coupon. I took my Honda Accord in about a year ago for an oil change here. But Honda Dealer Service just told me that the last mechanic , (Meineke) had jammed a non Compatible screw on the oil pan. The said it will leak in the future so I should replace the Pan. So basically, Honda gave me estimate of over $600 to replace the Oil Pan. Meineke was the only mechanic to do my last oil change, so I knew it was probably them that did the damage. I bought this used car Apr. 2021. The owner really kept good care of the car for repairs.

So beyond frustrated. My change oil warning has been on for a week, I made the appointment through them about 5 days ago, I leave for a road trip to California tomorrow so the appointment today would have been perfect timing. I drive 40 mins in traffic to get there, just to get told that their "website appointments don't work" and he "meant to contact me yesterday" or some bs. Said they don't have an opening for 10 days, complete trash. Then proceeded to drive 45 mins home in more traffic, missed my morning class lecture to sit in my car for an hour and a half and now have no oil change for my roadtrip tomorrow. Completely unprofessional, maybe learn how to get your website to work?

After booking an appointment online at the White Center Meineke, and them not being able to accommodate my van's needs (at no fault of theirs, but they didn't have the staff available--- note to others, call to verify the appointment prior to coming, these guys are busy!!) they sent me over to the SODO Meineke where Mike told me to come on down so they could take a look at my old, rusted '92 exhaust pipe that had come loose. Danny quickly inspected and provided me with options for the repair. Meineke graciously allowed me to wait in their waiting room while the repairs were being done. Mike handled all incoming customers and phone calls with such respect and consideration, that I couldn't help but notice how EXHAUST-ing this job can be! But with his positivity and humor, he made it enjoyable to wait for the work to be completed. They saved me a lot of money by catering a solution to my current issue and made this experience so seamless that I will definitely return with any oil changes or exhaust needs. Thank you Meineke Team!

They quoted me nearly $1200 to fix the brakes on my car. They wanted to replace the brake pads, brake rotors, and calipers. Then do a brake fluid flush. Said the parts alone were $675. I took it to another shop (Les Schwab) and the whole service with all three parts included was $635. Then I took it to yet another shop (Greg's Japanese auto) and they found that only the brake pads needed to be replaced and asked for $350 including parts, labor and tax. So I definitely didn't get my auto work done at Meineke's. However, of the shops I've been to this is the only one that was willing to use parts I provided. And they are quite willing to barter the price with you. Just be sure that you always get second and third opinions on what needs to be done on your car. Part of their sales tactics is scaring you into thinking you need to replace more parts than you actually need.

Almost got me to do a $1000 catalytic converter replacement I probably don't need. Came in and said I thought I had a rattling heat shield on my Subaru, since I had one before and a different shop had shimmed it up. After taking a look, they told me that it was actually the secondary catalytic converter internally separating and it'd have to be replaced. They could replace it that day for $1000. I said no because (with the other issues my car also has) it'd be time for a new car if it really did need a new cat, and even if I did replace it I'd want a second opinion before plunking down that amount of cash. I decided to take a look myself. An hour and a few $2 hose clamps later, I had shimmed and clamped the heat shields some more and the rattle is GONE (for now, at least). So unless me re-shimming the heat shields magically fixed the cat itself, I don't think I needed one. Gonna give them the benefit of the doubt that they weren't trying to scam me and that it was a legitimate mistake. Mike was also super friendly and didn't pressure me at all and accepted my "no" right away, so 2 stars rather than 1. But I still certainly won't be going back.
