In the swirling milieu of local patisseries, this bakery comes highly acclaimed, a reputation that piqued my curiosity and expectations. Opting for their much-lauded twice-baked chocolate croissant, I anticipated a pastry that would embody the perfect marriage of flakiness and indulgence. However, the reality was a confection that seemed to falter in its execution; the heart of the croissant bore a texture not entirely resolved to its flaky aspirations, ensconcing a sparingly applied chocolate filling that skewed towards an overly saccharine palette. While I remain confident in the caliber of their ingredients, the overall experience left me pondering the foundation of its widespread acclaim.

Purely based on the food, I love this place but I'm not sure what is going on lately. My go-to is the kouign amann and the last time I was there, I thought the kouign amann tasted a little burnt (sugar). I went there over the weekend and again, it looked a little brown and again, tasted burnt. I'll try to get a picture next time. Maybe it's off when I'm there but super disappointed, on the other hand, the other pastries were no problem. Always a busy spot weekend mornings and the staff do their best to help customers individually for their orders.

Food: 5/5 best croissant/pastries I've had in Seattle Coffee: 5/5 best cold brew we've had Price: 4/5 Service: 4/5 (only bc there's often a lot of people) BEST pastries and croissants of all bakeries I've been to in Seattle (and I've been to a lot). It's the exact right texture, flakiness, butter, and size - closest to French croissants you can get in Seattle. Great espresso drinks and some of the best cold brew we've had as well in Seattle. Runners up include L'Experience on Mercer Island (though it's a little pricey) and Baked Flours in Beacon Hill. The only downside is sometimes it's crowded (probably bc it's so good) so you might have to just go in and out. But the coffee and pastries are really second to none and we also pick up their in-house made unique preserves on occasion which are wonderful! Their Burien location is much larger with more inventory of jams, coffee, etc you can buy and space to sit down. We just don't make it out there often but it's a great location.

A consistently good West Seattle staple. Staff is friendly and pastries are delicious. The line can be long on weekends, but it usually moves fairly quickly. Seating is limited so you may have to take your food to go during busy times.I love the huge mix of sweet and savory options. Bakery Nouveau is a great option for breakfast or lunch.

Always been a big fan of their twice baked almond croissants. Spoiled a lot of my friends with it over the years. Their garlic parmesan bread is quite delicious too. Tiramisu was not that great though!

At some point I was obsessed with their twice baked almond croissants! Perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey but flaky layers within. I had to stop myself from being addicted lol. I've also tried their macarons, and cake. Their sandwiches are okay, sometimes if not heated up all the way they can be a bit cold in the center. A local favorite bakery! It's a quaint location with delicious smells! And customer service is always good.

Every reason to be in West Seattle is in this bakery!! Amazing. And take a minute to look over their homemade jams. Peach saffron.

our family was so excited to be back in west Seattle after moving away! all the nostalgia of growing up in the area and one of them being Bakery Nouveau. We walked in and was greeted so friendly, ordered, and sat down. We ordered the quiche because it was well known to be amazing. We sat down and talked awhile after about 20 minutes we realized we hadn't been called yet so went to the counter to see if they had forgotten. They had 5 workers behind the counter and i guess i asked the wrong one. She literally had a meltdown. She started yelling that she wasnt my server and it wasnt her and that they were out of quiche. The absolute strangest behavior. She then went on to point out every single costumer she had helped and told me that she had not helped me. After she rant and raved for about 3 full minutes making the couple that she had helped who was sitting next to us get up and leave hurriedly as well as the other people in the store. One of the other workers stepped forward and said no worries they had it in the oven and would bring out soon. Awkwardly the food was very good. I have just never been yelled at like that in a bakery. Hope the owner is aware.

I have a long list of bakeries in Seattle to try and Bakery Nouveau was one of them. I'm glad that I was able to stop by one of the locations (the street that it's on is super busy but we were able to find street parking a couple of blocks away, so walking wasn't a big issue). There was a little line on a Saturday morning but the line moves pretty fast because there are a couple of people taking orders at a time. I love that they offer well-known pastries as well as savory offerings (saw sandwiches, but really only stopped by for the pastries). I got the kouign amann, chocolate almond croissant, and the chocolate raspberry mousse dome. I thought the kouign amann and croissant were flakey and buttery. The chocolate raspberry mousse dome was good as well but I felt that it could've used a little more raspberry as the amount of chocolate felt a little overwhelming. Very pleased to have checked a super solid bakery off my list and I'd stop by the next time I'm near one of the locations.

We ordered the chocolate praline cake for our baby shower and it’s one of the most delicious cakes we’ve ever had! It was decadent without being too sweet. Just perfect!

The best bakery in the US hands-down. I know that's a big statement but honestly I've been all over and I've never seen anything better. Every single pastry is delicious and perfect and their coffee is amazing.
