My husband and I purchased a sectional couch from Ballard Consignment in October, using money we had received as a wedding gift. It was a huge purchase for us, one we sweated over for months. What we selected was not a vintage or used piece, this is a new, white-label brand of furniture that they carry in their store alongside used items. The thing was almost $2,000 and it is falling apart 5 months in, and the customer service we have received has been abysmal. The two pieces of the sectional will not stay clipped together because of some sort of defect. The clips come loose, and then will not stay latched, meaning we have to re-join the two sectional pieces almost daily. This also means pulling all the cushions off to re-arrange them. The fabric also has proven to be of very low quality, as it is already starting to pill and sag in places. Again, this is in 5 months of use. When we asked about repairs or returns, we were refused either option. The ONLY option we were offered was to re-consign with Ballard (hah!). Particularly wild seeing as the sectional's clips are broken and falling off...I assume they were just going to put it out on the floor to lure in another "all sales final" customer. Especially for such a big ticket item, this kind of rip-off stings. I have no idea what we are going to do with this couch. I really feel like we were sold a lemon, and the attitude of management tells me that they probably know this furniture is garbage, because they literally will not stand by their products. Sounds like other Yelp reviewers have received abusive messages from the business owner following their low reviews...maybe I should close my DMs...

Amazing little shop that is not little at all. From the outside, it looks pretty small. Parking lot is very small and permit only (which you grab at the front desk before you shop). But this place is huge! Each room leads to another room full of wares. We found kitchen dining chairs, and I fell in love with a table that's sadly too big for our space. Of the 3 consignment locations in this family (Everett, Bellevue, and Ballard) this one is my favorite. Staff is so helpful and kind. Highly recommend for anyone who needs furniture, and doesn't want to add to the planets waste!

I had a weird interaction here. My bf and I were there looking for a few mid century pieces. We took our time and covered every room, floor, corner. A man, don't know if it was a manager or owner, approached us and instead of asking if we needed anything, says "Hey, you've been here for a while haven't you" looking at us weirdly. What am I supposed to answer and what does he mean/implying by that. I didn't see him approach any of the other person there, before or after. We had been there for like 30 minutes (normal, I think, for a big store with furniture); after that we quickly left to the farmers market. We are Caribbean Latino, brown and gay. My Microsoft manager boyfriend had a beanie on. And he went straight towards us with that weird comment. Alarm bells. F&@# this racist place. Sad because I liked this store. This was on Sunday, November 19, 2023

This space is humongous! Such variety in pieces and everything is staged nicely! I could spend all day in here (and I did!!). They also work with a moving service that is essentially there all day for all your needs. Note, they do have a website that is updated very regularly.

Some of the furnitire is used, and you can clearly tell. But it's marked up to the prices you could get it for new at Ashley Furniture, or the like. Staff not helpful or cordial. Also so much of the furniture is from Article, and priced as such. You could literally buy it from Article brand new, in the color you want, for almost the same price. There were literal Article boxes laying out in the store when I visited. No much unique about the store, and so much of furniture was dusty, with animal hair on it. They own other "consignment " stores in the area like Furniture Guy etc. The smaller stores seem to have friendlier staff but the furniture is the same.... no gems.

We ordered a sofa from BCS. Service was professional, prompt and timely. We waited the exact amount of time predicted. We were contacted upon the sofa’s arrival and the staff loaded into my truck. Couldn’t ask for better service. We love the sofa.

They have a good selection of second hand and new furniture at good prices. I bought two chairs for $25 each. They are able to negotiate their prices, just ask or make an offer

Please think again if you were going to consign anything with this owner Viktor who does not know how to do business ethically. Secondly he knows nothing about home furnishings whatsoever. He will give you a price range via email ( only if you ask for it and even if you ask for it he will not give you one). If you go into the store, the store staff will ask you for the pricing. Then you will let them know the range that the owner gave you. They will then push it back to you and say you need to have a price. Or you need to re-contact the owner. What a mess this businesses. They are completely con artist. Read all of the reviews on Google and then read the owners responses and you will get a good feeling for his attitude and complete lack of good customer service. You are much better off going to a reputable consignment store or even just taking your merchandise to Goodwill and taking the right off. Viktor is in the business of ripping the sellers off and more interested in turning his merchandise over and over and over and not giving his sellers a fair price There are many reputable consignment stores on Capitol Hill and on the east side. I recommend you forget this outfit in Ballard.

Please make sure that you read all of the one star reviews before you even consider consigning out the store. The owner and management staff is completely dishonest and they do not conduct business in an ethical manner. I had all of my framed art pieces reviewed via email by Viktor who I am guessing is the owner. He gave me a range of pricing for the first edition lithographs, all custom framed artwork ( these were not framed posters) that I was considering consigning. When I dropped off the items to the store, the manager was very very rude to me and asked me what pricing I was given. I told him that Viktor only gave me a range of pricing. Not any specific number. He then said he would follow up with Viktor on the pricing.I signed the contract and put a written note in the bottom corner indicating the store was following up on pricing. I never received any phone calls from the store whatsoever. When I called four weeks later to inquire on the artwork I was told the majority of it had sold already. I inquired on the pricing ( and that no one called me to review pricing) and they said everything had almost sold and all were priced at $30. I had been given a range of $30-$70 and all of the pieces were of different sizes with some of them being extremely large. These pieces had been in my family for decades and artists were well known. The owner and manager Obviously do not know anything about artwork or they would have looked at the pieces with a lupe. Will, the manager, why they were all priced the same and at the low end and he could not give me a logical answer. They pushed it back on me and said I should have confirmed everything with the owner. So it was all my fault . I followed up with Viktor and it was the same thing. He blamed it on me for leaving the store even though his staff said they would follow up with him. It’s basically your common scam: The owner tells me to have the store price it and the store says talk to the owner for pricing. I won’t go into all of the other email exchanges that I had with Viktor yesterday to try and resolve the situation and have them do the right thing. They blame me for a full voicemail which is completely ridiculous because I would never have my work phone fill up. They are full of excuses and are very very bitter and rude people.I don’t know where Viktor is from but this is not how we do business in America and be successful. I am a retail business owner myself and can’t imagine treating a customer like this.DO NOT CONSIGN from any of this chain store locations. They are all run by him. RUN from this nightmare. They will rip you off, just like I’m sure they did in the previous country he was in. He needs to learn how we do business here.Lastly, read the owners comments ( Viktor) back to the customers in the one star reviews. You can see very clearly his attitude. He should not be in business. The name Viktor in Russian can mean “ artist”. More like CONARTIST!!

DO NOT CONSIGN HERETrue Story:1) They accept my 1940s metal and glass wall sconce for consignment. The sconce is in excellent condition.2) I call each month to see if it sold per the contract – they will not call you.3) Six months pass and when I make the monthly call I am told that the item was sold and I can pick up my check.4) I go to pick up the check, but there is not a check for me. The clerk checks my account and tells me that that it actually had not sold but instead that the sconce “fell apart” and was removed from inventory.5) I ask for evidence of this. None is provided, not even a picture. I am told that they had it for a “long time” in some storage room which has now been cleaned up. This “long time” was three weeks, during which I was not notified at all about the situation.6) I mention that the item was in excellent condition when I brought it in and should not have “fallen apart.” I am told by the clerk that customers and movers break items all the time and per the contract the store is not responsible to compensate me. (Apparently they don’t hold whomever breaks an item responsible either??)At best this is terrible customer service and at worst it is theft. They were unapologetic either way. Do not consign here.

We shopped at this place for over a year before we found something we wanted. We bought a couch. But whomever they hired to deliver it (about a half mile from the store) was inexplicably unable to get it up to our apartment (despite a huge elevator and two staircases)The store refused to refund our money. We were 'given' a "store credit" for over a thousand dollars. We tried to find something else but no luck, so they just stole our money.Very expensive lesson learned. This is not how I would do business, but hey. It's America right? Screw whoever you can, I guess.

The store itself is good, has some good stuff in it, but the owner was very unfriendly. I felt not like a welcomed customer, but like a person who bugs the staff. Will never go to this store again

I received such rude customer service here. I called and asked for the owner who wasn’t available. I calmly explained that I had left several messages for the owner but she never called me back to me so asked if I could wait, and he hung up on me. When I called back he was extremely rude, and when I asked to talk to somebody else he refused, and told me I needed to respect him.The owner eventually called me back and was completely dismissive when I tried to explain my concerns re the extremely rude employee. She didn’t offer any explanation or apology and seemed irritated I was taking up her time.I had been out of state so instead of picking up my check I was told I could mail a stamped envelope. But I never received my check, and the owner blamed the post office for losing it. Then she didn’t return my phone calls. When I finally got to take to her she actually asked me to mail in another stamped envelope. When I finally got my check, she made a point to write on it that my original check had expired and she had to re-issue a new one. Of course it had! I had been waiting for a check that never came and then a return phone call!I loved the previous owner but unfortunately will not be taking my items here anymore.
