About Ballard Millinery Studio
Ballard Millinery Studio is the design studio and workshop for five Seattle milliners. It is the place to go for millinery that is unique, fashionable, and professional quality. The collection is extensive in all categories and custom design is available. This is a great little shop and studio full of the best, most amazing hats. It is not a shop but a studio for artistic hat makers who create all of these incredible hat creations. Modern millinery here is a craft both traditional and experimental, creating sculptural art by combining centuries-old techniques with new materials and modern design trends. The very nice group of hat makers welcome visitors and show what they do. Anyone who has had a hard time finding the perfect hat due to design tastes, cranium size, or want of a specific material needs to come here. The large studio is filled with past and current designs. Their work, excellence, and personalities make them the top millinery in the area. The work speaks for itself. Hours are by appointment, as they are rather random; it is best to call or email.
Tina is wonderful! She made a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind wedding headpiece to match the beading on my dress. She turned it around so quickly and the whole experience was smooth, not to mention really fun. I’d never commissioned anything like this before but can’t recommend it enough and I can’t wait to do it again!
