This was my first experience interacting with a student clinician during a medical visit and my very first Telehealth visit and I am so highly impressed. The visit began on time and the directions were very clear in regards to how to connect for a Telehealth appointment. I am especially impressed by the professionalism and the wealth of knowledge displayed by the student clinician who assisted the visit. I left my visit feeling very understood and cared for by both the doctor and student clinician. I highly recommend the Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

Love this place, great professors, ethusiastic students. From time to time they get some front desk people who are not up to the high standard of care, but it is worth dealing with cause once you are in the treatment room you get the premium care. Acupuncture quality is beyond imaginable, and the other treatments provide that cruicial preventive care that regular doctors are not trained to do.

I am still a patient. After all these years- so many wonderful NP & acupuncture treatments. My guess in 12 years Ive had 60 or more appointments! I use the teaching clinic- I get to meet wonderful Bastyr students - many who work on obtaining 2 certifications- dual certified- acupuncture and NP. Of all these appointments I have felt so cared for. Health care for anyone provides many options-- feeling cared for and secure is part of the treatment which supports the good healing you will get. I have been seeing the same NP/acupuncturist over 7 years- my previous one retired. I am not putting her name here until I get an OK. I still need appointments and I never post names without permission. Good wishes

I love Bastyr. I cannot speak highly enough about all staff, students and Doctors I have had contact with over the years. Dr. HB and her team are wonderful, caring, supportive practitioners. I cannot thank Bastyr enough for all they have done and continue to do for my family. Thank you so much.

Bastyr has some excellent providers. However, getting an appointment with those providers is extremely difficult. It took 6 weeks to get an appointment for the ND I really liked, and for the follow-up appointment I now have to wait two months. Then, when I called to schedule an appointment with the acupuncturist that the provider recommended, I was told, "Oh, her schedule isn't available." (What the heck?!) That's the second time I experienced the "schedule not available" response. Then when I called back a couple of weeks later, I was told she had no openings. Seems like they need to tighten up the operational side of the clinic. I'm probably going to start seeing practitioners at Seattle Healing Arts instead, because getting appointments at Bastyr is just too frustrating.

This review is for the bastyr dispensary, inside the bastyr building. I go to bastyr at least once a week for acupuncture and had never seen the dispensary open. I called and asked about their hrs and made sure I made my next appointment during a time when they were open. I ended up arriving to my appointment with plenty of time to check it out, and ended up buying over $200 worth of crystals. Most everything is overpriced by a few dollars but their crystal prices aren't too bad. However, I have to say their customer service is the worst. Very unfriendly and at times rude. I tried making small talk once to only be shut down which is fine (Im a female in her early 30's not an old pervy guy) but then asking a question about an item I wanted to purchase behind the counter was like I was asking for the lady ringing me up to give me a ride home on her back. So inconvenienced and unhappy seeming. The girl ringing me out seemed to be in charge too which is even more disappointing. No wonder I have never seen another person in there. If you were a little nicer (or just not completely rude) more people would be in here more often! Girl with the high wasted skinny jeans and dirty blonde hair...

***DO NOT GO HERE FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ISSUES***There was a psychiatrist working here who I adored and followed for a decade. Once I finally got to meet her, she was enshrouded with students following her work that day. Which was fine, except that the doctor performed as a robot, and was not hearing my questions and concerns about how I was seeking holistic treatments of my mental health. Her answers were not helpful, and the students looked at me puzzled as well. Some told me afterwards they found her behavior odd and apologized. The doctor prescribed me homeopathy and recommended psychiatric services I cannot get as a low income person at clinics around town, which is heavily documented on my Yelp account. I did not continue with the homeopathy and have no plans to return to this clinic for other services. If you are low income or on Medicare, these reviews of other Seattle area behavioral health care services may save you some time:Clinics Yelp Hyperlinks:Carolyn Downs Medical Center: Hospital: Community Therapy Project Medical Center: Permanente Capitol Hill: Counseling Services: Cherry Hill: Edmonds: Mental Health Community College Counseling Office:

They really take the time to listen and work with their team to choose the best treatment plan. I definitely love being a Bastyr patient.

I am an insomniac and have problems with cortisol and thyroid. Western med doctors care so I tried Bastyr. Turns out Bastyr doesn't either. Their advice about my thyroid meds was in conflict with my ARNP/ND. They didn't even address the cortisol issue. I was told that I would receive paperwork when I left. There was none!

Call and double check before your first appointment. They had me scheduled for acupuncture. The desk is serviced by students so double check! Suffered with stomach problems for a year. Terrible pain in the URQ. No doctor really believed me. I had to be stern and demand the tests. Swedish finally diagnosed me with inflamed small intestine. Then said that's all they could do. They referred me here. Two visits in and I'm feeling better although still cautious, therefore only 4 stars so far. Visits are 1-2 hours. They really listen and accept my insurance. So far so good. I may have a food allergy. I am very hopeful after so many months of being terribly sick. XXXXXX - 4 months later. I'm doing well. Have not had any problems. Didn't narrow it down to a food allergy but the pain is gone. The diet they put me on worked. I'm back to eating normally with a few exceptions. They did what MD's could not with only knowledge and diet.

Love treatments here with Dr Simon and his students. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. I go to him first before my regular medical doctor. I save a great deal and learn more. Dr Simon has a great manner and I find the cheerfulness of the students an added bonus. It's unfortunate the parking lot is designed for sub compact cars only. My car is small but the parking spaces are way to narrow to the point of ridiculousness. Finally got it squeezed into a spot. If you have a standard sized car or bigger forget it. Overall I rate Bastyr with all stars. Feel lucky this school is 2 miles from my home. I would recommend walking here though or taking the bus. Or have a friend drop you off.

OK, I've been here a number of times now and had decent experiences. My prior review still stands as far as dealing with the people who answer the phones, but I haven't had that 1 especially passive aggressive, unhelpful person in a few months, so maybe she got fired. The students and docs have been kind and helpful, and I haven't received any bills for services not covered by medicaid. Still MUCH prefer NCNM (or NUNM, as it's now called) down in Portland, for their focus on healing, rather than business.
