La Esperanza Mercado y Carniceria is a vibrant Mexican market and butcher shop. The store offers a huge selection of everything one could possibly need, including fresh produce like prickly pear and tomatillos, a generous selection of fresh breads and pastries, and a wide array of drinks and ingredients, both fresh and frozen. The mind-blowing butcher counter provides excellent meats and an in-house cheese selection. The market also makes its own salsa, with a notable salsa verde, and stocks lots of salsas and hot sauces to choose from. The atmosphere is lovely and the interior is colorful. The staff is super nice and helpful, contributing to an outstanding and authentic experience. Sometimes, a street food vendor outside sells delicious Mexican street snacks like esquites and elotes. The location is very convenient, only a short walk from Beacon Hill Station. It is a great place to shop, with outstanding, flavorful food that is highly recommended.
