I came here for my first Auto loan, per my auto Dealer's recommendation for the best interest rate. My bank person, Iconic, truly lived up to their name!
They were fun to work with and was honest about anything they werent sure about. When we mentioned how the car needed to be started up with jumper cables, they strongly recommended that we asked the dealer for a new battery upon signing (to which they obliged 👍).
They also felt that the price of the car was fair for it's age, which was reassuring.
The process took a little longer than expected but we had some shopping to do across the street anyway, so it all worked out really well. Iconic was very helpful with the application process, to ensure that I was approved.
Thank you BECU, for making this process, and all other bank stuff completely un-intimidating!

Opened a simple business account in-person. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Process took a bit longer than expected (about an hour). The follow-up to access online banking was supposed to take 48 hours, but then I had to call in since I was never contacted. Was told to wait another 2 business days, which with the weekend means a total of 6 days just to access the account; too long in my opinion.
(minor) Also not a fan of being REQUIRED to open a savings account alongside the checking account.
All around just feels like the account opening process needs to be streamlined.
EDIT: Still without an online account 7 days after account opening. No communication from BECU, had to call them again, go on hold for a while, and now need to wait additional days. In hindsight, I would recommend banking elsewhere.

They definitely need to provide better training for their employees. Every time I’ve been assisted by Downs, he has been unhelpful with resolving delays involving checks in our business account. Instead of assisting, he always complicates the process. I have to visit a different branch to get the check amount made available in my account, as Downs repeatedly insists that only a Check Cashier can handle it—something that other BECU branches have done for me without issue. Additionally, his demeanor is always unpleasant and unprofessional.

Please create a feature that allows people to receive their card back before they receive their money. It's safer and it makes it easier for people in a rush to not forget their card.

Been a customer for 7 years...until today.Wonderful experience setting up my most recent new account (phoebe?) In May of '23. The three times since then ...atrocious.After setting up an appointment, you'll be picked up by the first random employee available. After this you will be bringing the employee up to speed with your issue. Employees (the last 3 times) are not knowlegeable or patient when taking in information. Spent ten clock minutes today trying to explain my current issue, only to have the employee put most of his effort into proving me wrong. The employee was fixated on his incorrect first take and finally I had to give up and steer the employee to a solution.Employee said he would refer that solution to a manager....and that was the end of that. No time line, no process explanation, no name..he was just going to tell his manager. Job Done?!?My main bank card (where my wages go) has been shut down for longer than 24hrs when I try to pay the first HALF of my rent ($1250) despite the promised $2500 24hr limit. I couldn't buy groceries after the first payment, and I couldn't pay the second installment of my rent 36-48hrs later!!During the appointment I had to use the phrase: "I'm a 46 year old man, not a teenager living in my mom's basement".So apart from that first reassuring interaction in May, subsequent employees have been lacking in adequate people skills (listening mainly), unmitigated by any appreciable technical competence.The last employee to see me before today had a giant white boil on his nose and very bad breath. Wear a mask?Going to Bank of America today. Sad.If I'd had the wonderful lady who set up my account assist me the last three times, I am 100% sure I would be staying. Regretfully, I misplaced her card.Byeeeeee .

Train better your employees for not wasting clients time. I went to update my lastname, and the person make me go home to get an ID that prove my maiden name and when I came back with this ID they didn’t know what to do and could not update my lastname. They even suggested an "identity theft" even though I was showing them 3 different IDs.
