Ordered a part the shop didn't feel like installing, but instead of owning up to it, they quoted 4x the cost of the part for the install.

I'm done going to Ballard Carter for service. You can rarely get them on the phone. They will not be flexible on scheduling unless one of the slots (usually a month out) on their online portal work for you. IF you get someone on the phone they say someone will need to call you back... they NEVER do. I had an emergency service need prior to a road trip and another dealer answered the phone and got me in no problem. Today tried via phone 3 times. Ended up having to drive down there to get a simple question answered. I've already started using a new dealer, this cements it. No longer going to Ballard Subaru for sales or support. Not a 1 star, because they technically can sell and fix cars. They are not total frauds, just really bad at communicating.

Awful dealership. Reached out about a car, was given a price then 3 days later was told that the car was "priced incorrectly". Smells like a bait and switch to me. Even if it was an honest mistake a good dealership would honor it. These guys either don't know what they are doing or are deceptive. Not good either way. Avoid them. Find a dealership that is honest.

We just bought a new Forester from Steven M at Carter Subaru. It was for sure the easiest and least annoying car buying experience of my life. I've bought other car makes, but that ended once we started buying Subarus. This was our 4th Forester in a row, but our first at this dealership. Steven M, Vince, and Carter Subaru Ballard have earned our repeat business.

What an amazing car buying experience! From working with Steven via email who was exceptional at answering my questions, to Riley in person at the dealership who stayed with me and kept me updated as to where we were at in the process and finally Nelson in finance. I can't say enough great things about the overall experience. No haggling or pressure. If you are looking for the best experience you've ever had purchasing a vehicle (I've purchased a few in my time), I suggest you go to Carter Subaru in Ballard and see these gentlemen, you won't be disappointed!

I just recently lost my 20 year old car and started looking for a new one. While at Carter Subaru Ballard I met Mason. Mason was so amazing and supportive.I have never looked into buying a new car before and I felt like he really helped me understand more about the car buying process as well as what to look for in a car. I appreciated his attention to detail, his honesty and his dedication to his customers and his job. He really goes the extra mile (pun intended) for his customers. Thank you Mason for helping me so much! :)

The workmanship seems fine but the customer service at this place is awful. They don't care about your car or you. Last year there was an issue with our sunroof (a known issue that can occur) that you think they would check for when you always service your vehicle there. And now we just had our 120k mile service there. We have a newborn and needed to know when the car would be done so we could plan. We only have one car with a car seat. We made an appointment and they said the car would be done by 1pm. Not only did no one call us when it was supposed to be ready, once I called them, the person responsible for our car had left for the day. No one ever intended to call us that day at all. They also listed on the paper work that recommended services had been declined. Declined by who is still a mystery because no one spoke to us.

Beware of a 3% credit card fee that is not part of your service quote. They have signs taped all around the shop that try to explain how this fee is good for customers. But at the end of the day, my service cost 3% more than the quote because of this hidden fee. Two stars because I've received good service in the past. I'll consider returning if they reverse this policy.

My wife and I just bought a new Crosstrek Sport from Carter Subaru Ballard. We can't say enough good things about our experience with our purchase. Every step of the way was enjoyable and our sales person Carlos was outstanding. Carlos spent quite a bit of time to show us the car and all its features. The woman that helped us with our paperwork was a joy to work with as well. We would highly recommend Carlos and Carter Subaru Ballard to any potential Subaru buyers. Geoff + Kay
