We just bought a new Forester from Steven M at Carter Subaru. It was for sure the easiest and least annoying car buying experience of my life. I've bought other car makes, but that ended once we started buying Subarus. This was our 4th Forester in a row, but our first at this dealership. Steven M, Vince, and Carter Subaru Ballard have earned our repeat business.

Recently traded in my Honda Civic for Subaru Outback. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the atmosphere. I was immediately greeted by the receptionist who is awesome, and helped by Riley, who knew everything about the car, and was really responsive to anything I had doubts or questions about. I felt like Riley got me the best deal without trying to haggle me or make me feel like I’m just purchasing a car. This was one of the best buying experiences I’ve had. What an amazing car buying experience! From working with Steven via email who was exceptional at answering my questions, to Riley in person at the dealership who stayed with me and kept me updated as to where we were at in the process and finally Nelson in finance. I can't say enough great things about the overall experience. No haggling or pressure. If you are looking for the best experience you've ever had purchasing a vehicle (I've purchased a few in my time), I suggest you go to Carter Subaru in Ballard and see these gentlemen, you won't be disappointed!

Ask for Mason! When our 2010 forester was having issues we knew to go right back to where we bought it 14 years ago, Carter Subaru of Ballard! Mason was awesome to work with, and within just a couple days he set us up with a 2-year old sweet Outback Onyx! This car is a serious upgrade from our last Carter car, full of great features, and a 3,500 towing capacity for all our outdoor excursions! And they did a really nice job on the detailing, looked brand new! Thanks Mason!

We recently traded in our older Forester Sport for a Forester Touring model with more features. The trade-in process, which we feared might be a hassle, was actually seamless and on the whole an excellent experience. Mason Calmettes in the sales department went above and beyond, meeting with us several times, helping us find the right vehicle to upgrade to, answering our many, many questions, and working to get us a very good deal. He was a pleasure to work with, and we’re grateful he could accommodate our fairly restrictive schedules. We’ve had the Touring model for just over a month now, and love, love, love the extra quality-of-life features like the heated steering wheel and the multi-driver seat and mirror setting presets.

I recently bought a used car from Carter and worked with Mason Calmettes. He made the whole process from start to finish so seamless. He only showed me cars in my price range, explained the details of each step (repeatedly, as requested), educated me on the car buying market and even outlined my options for selling my old outback. I ended up with a 2020 Forester and couldn't be happier in a car I feel safe in. Who could ask for more in Seattle?

His friendly and considerate approach made the experience easy to go through. He worked diligently to secure the best deal possible, and offered any help. I just recently lost my 20 year old car and started looking for a new one. While at Carter Subaru Ballard I met Mason. Mason was so amazing and supportive.I have never looked into buying a new car before and I felt like he really helped me understand more about the car buying process as well as what to look for in a car. My family had a fantastic experience purchasing a new 2023 Subaru Forester from Carter Subaru Ballard in late July 2023. I cannot say enough good things about our salesperson, Mason Calmettes. Foresters are in low supply and high demand. Mason worked tirelessly and patiently to help us find the perfect Forester. Mason communicated regularly to give us information about incoming vehicles. He didn’t try to push us into a car just to make a quick sale. Mason called/texted us throughout the course of several weeks until we found the Forester that was just right for us at a price in our budget. Once we found the right car to purchase Mason was friendly and professional throughout the sales and delivery process. Mason followed up shortly after the purchase to check in on us to make sure we were happy with our Forester and there were no issues. We are 100% happy with the purchase process at Carter Subaru Ballard and Mason’s service.I also want to share that I really appreciate the management and ownership team at Carter Subaru Ballard. The sales process and financing were completely fair and transparent. There was no manipulation, pushy sales tactics, or inflated fees/costs. (I’m an experienced customer and Certified Public Accountant.) It is clear to me that Carter Subaru Ballard is playing the long game to make sure they earn the trust of their customers.I highly recommend purchasing a new Subaru from Carter Subaru Ballard. This is definitely the best car I’ve ever owned. The amount I drive for fun has gone up drastically since purchasing this car. Super fun to drive and can handle so many conditions. Not only was this the first Subaru I have ever purchased, but it was also my first solo car purchase. Mason helped me so much every step of the way and made the process a lot less overwhelming. He was incredibly transparent and I knew he always had my best interests at heart, which really helped when it came down to deciding between the different models and trims I was considering. Never before has car shopping been fun for me, but with Mason it was awesome. Highly recommend!

Beware of a 3% credit card fee that is not part of your service quote. They have signs taped all around the shop that try to explain how this fee is good for customers. But at the end of the day, my service cost 3% more than the quote because of this hidden fee. Two stars because I've received good service in the past. I'll consider returning if they reverse this policy.
