Good Teriyaki and friendly service. The Serpico/Greyhound station description in another review is spot on.

I always saw this place when I was a UW student venturing out of campus to explore the city. It's at kind of an odd location and not a place I would normally go to, partly because I fear it would be sketchy (I'm a very small woman). But that's not the case at all! I was pleasantly surprised to find the inside was impeccably clean. You can tell the owner truly cares about the place and keeps it well-stocked and maintained. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall, no-frills places that are rapidly disappearing from this city. I'm disappointed in myself for not going sooner and even after one trip, feel a sort of fondness for the place. We ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki and the chicken teriyaki for a total of 30 dollars and some change, including tax. No tip option. We got it to-go and somehow, after a 30-40 commute home the food was still hot! I thought the chicken teriyaki could've used a touch more sauce but flavors were there. The spicy chicken teriyaki was mild in terms of heat. Serving sizes were generous and I'll be able to make another meal out of it. I don't think they use the same kind of salad dressing that other teriyaki joints use which was a bummer for me because I looove the salad that comes with teriyaki

Fast and delicious! The teriyaki is consistently high quality- I always want to branch out but it's so comforting. Also a decent collection of beer and wine along with a ton of snack foods and necessities like batteries, sewing kit, single-serve medications like Pepto, Advil, etc. Really glad this place is around!

In a neighborhood that's in the middle of corporate businesses, it feels good to just go to a corner store that has cheap Asian food. This is the Seattle I know outside of downtown. Getting your hot food is quick and easy. Also the staff is really nice. Please continue to support mom and pop shops like this one.

Great teriyaki chicken. Great option if you work or live downtown or First Hill and don't want to cook lunch. Staff is friendly. Theres a small seating area or you could take your food to the nearby Freeway park. You won't find anything cheaper with this quality anywhere in the city.

I almost never write reviews but this place was an OUTSTANDING find and so I'd love for them to thrive and be around a long time. It's a chill setup, good selection of snacks drinks hot food counter, beer & wine, YOGURT?, etc. All bases covered here. The teriyaki was really really solid, generous portions, good balance of salty and sweet, (sauce came on the side so you can't go wrong). Boneless skinless thigh pounded flat for perfect fat/flavor content, expertly cooked. And I was not expecting to get a legit crispy char on the chicken from a grocery store in a parking garage so this was a very pleasant surprise. Guy running the show was wonderful too, he graciously accommodated some off-menu customization for my picky offspring. Highly recommend and we will be back.

We stumbled upon this place when the original place we planned to eat at was inexplicably closed. After finding nothing after more walking around, we were just going to order room service when we walked in just to get some water. After looking at the menu decided to just get dinner here and wow! This place is a FIND! Ordered the chicken katsu and the chicken teriyaki. The portions were huuuge, especially considering how low the prices were, and both were absolutely delicious! Never would have expected such a fantastic dinner at such an unassuming corner grocery mart. Highly recommend!!
