I just bought some things here. The cashier/assistant had such an unpleasant way of interacting. I wanted to buy a cupe measure and asked if the markings go away and they just looked at me and responded “ I have no idea” as I had asked the strangest question in the world. When I pointed out the way she talked to me, she said “ oh well, I’ve never been asked that before and that’s all.” Not sure if they are frustrated working there or other things are going on but I have been living in this neighborhood for almost 25 years and would hesitate going to buy something there because of what I experienced as cold/rude behavior. It’s expensive too and with other options you buy kitchen supplies, I would def look at those.

Easily one of my favorite cooking item stores in town for years now. Great options, lovely staff, strong pricing decisions that are great, and a perfect location.

I just spent a wonderful hour, getting fabulous assistance for kitchen essentials for a new kitchen. It was a trek to Ballard but I will go again!

Lots to be found in this shop, but the service is abysmal so I am not keen to return. I see I am not the only one based on other reviews. I was there on Saturday morning around 10:15 AM 5/3/25 and there were two associates chatting in the front of the store.
They never acknowledged a single person who walked in (I actually needed help with something) and I was probably there a good 30 minutes and saw 10 or so customers stroll in and out. A number were buying things as well, and that was the only time they were acknowledged.

This used to be one of my favorite kitchen stores, but not sure if I’ll go back again. Walked in on a Monday, there was only one other customer in the store. Received a very tepid “hello” at the door only after I said hello. Wandered the entire store and not once did either of the two workers come to check to see if I (or the other customer) needed help finding anything. They were more interested in talking amongst themselves as they were frantically unpacking boxes. I used to work in a kitchen store and we stocked shelves and merchandised before the store opened so we could focus on customer service. If I’m going to spend money in a store it would be nice if at the least it felt like they were glad you were there. The one star is mostly for lack of customer service. They have great products. I will shop at the kitchen store in Madison Park, they are always happy to see customers.

Selection is solid, we found and bought what we were looking for. The vibe of the staff (at the time, two blond women with no name tags) was icy and judgmental, so for that reason we are unlikely to return. If you’re local to Ballard and need a quality piece of small kitchen equipment, you’ll probably walk out with what you need, just not with any new friends.

Great neighborhood shop with so many different products for any kitchen need. Always welcoming and helpful. Their customer service is top notch and they went above and beyond when a glass lemon juicer I purchased was chipped and cracked out of the box. They immediately gave me a refund and pulled remaining product from the shelf to inspect when another one they opened for me was also cracked. They took down my details and contacted me when they recieved more in stock. They opened the box with me in store to make sure it was in perfect condition and I've been using the juicer and very happy with it since. You wouldn't get this attentive customer service in chain retailers, which is why I waited to purchase from them again instead of going elsewhere. They care about their customers and the products they sell. Will definitely consider them again for future kitchen needs.

They have everything you need to upgrade your cooking game, plus helpful and knowledgeable staff to guide you. I bought a nice new stainless pan here last week and LOVE it, but even more than the pan, I love that someone in the store helped me choose it and educated me on how to use it properly without ruining it. I think a high end chef and novice would both find what they are looking for here.

I came in on vacation asking a simple question on if they had these stackable weighted cooking presses (Chefs Press). The man working that day on Sunday of June 23rd I heard mocking me and insulting me behind my back in the store to another colleague… so if you want to enjoy shopping and being mocked and criticized while doing it, this is the place for you :)
