From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The center is clean and well-organized. Dr. Mel took the time to thoroughly examine our cat, explaining the process and potential issues in a way that was easy to understand. He was patient, kind, and clearly passionate about his work. He provided a comprehensive plan that included diet changes and preventative measures, showing his commitment to our pet's overall health and well-being. If you're looking for a vet who specializes in dermatology, look no further than Dr. Mel's Dermatology Center for Animals.

Highest marks for care, surgery skills, and response. We took on an elderly rescue pup a few years ago that had had many surgeries for growths in the past, and even an ear canal removed. When we got her, her remaining ear had a tremendous tumor and our local Vet recommended Dr Mel. He was able to save the ear, put her on a limited-ingredient food, and recommended all the natural foods our dog can eat. She did not have another problem for over 2 years until we tried to introduce a new food - now Dr. Mel is back on it and all is looking good to undo the ear canal reaction this new food has caused. I really like that you can email his Tech in between appointments too. Although in Seattle, his Office is easy to get to, right next to the 5 frwy and he has plenty of non-traffic time slots & Saturdays

I took my dog here that has been struggling with allergies for years. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My dog is very skittish and all the staff were kind, gentle and accommodating. The vet and his nurse explained all the options and did a lot of education so I could understand what was going on. They helped me pick a treatment plan and I feel confident in the decisions we made collaboratively. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could!

My poodle had skin growth on her face, which worried me and made it hard to groom her. I talked to a regular vet over a year ago about removing it, and they told me this could only be done under general anesthesia. They quoted over a thousand for the procedure.I contacted DCA and made an appointment to take a look at the growth. The doctor offered to remove it and send it to a lab for a biopsy. The procedure was done same day using sedative. The whole thing was about $700 which included the biopsy cost.Since the procedure was done sooner than I anticipated, I didn't think about our vacation plans at the time. We had to leave 4 days later to travel across the border to BC, Canada. Our pup would still be wearing the cone. We contacted the customs and were told, that we need a letter from a doctor, that she is OK to travel.I called DCA office to give us such a letter. The technician was surprised, because they have never heard about this requirement. She said she would talk to the doctor. We received the letter by email same day. At the border, nobody asked us to show the letter, but it saved us from anxiety and possibly extended processing time.During the vacation, we received a phone call from the office that the biopsy came back normal.Grateful for helping us with the skin issue and the prompt response with the letter.

I've taken my dog, Lila, to see Dr. Mel and DCA for her allergies 3 times, starting in Jan 23. I'm very happy and grateful I did. She is doing great and I feel we are on the best course for success too. Each visit, Dr. Mel has taken the time to thoroughly explain the problems and symptoms my dog has been experiencing. He uses a white board and explains it in a language that is very easy to understand. He listed the differences between food allergies and environmental allergies, how to properly diagnose these two, and what the treatment options are for environmental allergies. He listed the prices of the medications and allergy testing. He even allowed me to order things online. He doesn't try to push unnecessary testing or selling of medications or supplements. On my first visit, I was ready for and thought I wanted allergy testing but he suggested I try a prescription rabbit diet since my vet had not tried this. Unfortunately it did not help my French Bulldog and so my Lila has environmental allergies, but I can feed what ever I want (I really wanted it to be food allergies). On my second visit, I wasn't ready for allergy testing, so he recommended that we try a medication called Atopica. Apoquel and Cytopoint, which my regular vet had been prescribing and pushing before I went to see Dr. Mel, weren't working and those were super expensive. I ordered the medication online, which his office approved. The medication has been a miracle for Lila and her itching and allergy issues. I came back recently for allergy skin testing and my Lila is getting allergy drops in the mouth, since I'm too afraid to give shots.I'm not sure about some of the negative reviews. I've found this clinic, Dr. Mel, and his nurses to be very helpful and responsive to my emails. I have not felt pushed into anything and Dr. Mel has been completely transparent about the costs and expectations from day 1. I'm saving money now, since I'm no longer going to my vet every other month for expensive medications that were not working.

Dr. Milosevic only cares about money, not animals. I spent $1,000 on allergy testing for my cat only to be given the results by a tech, not a vet, who casually dropped into the conversation that she might die of anaphylactic shock when given the shots so I should take her to an emergency vet if that happens (if you have not been in a coma the last three years, you're fully aware that ER vets are so slammed they will not accept you if they're "at capacity" and you have to wade through at least 5 minutes of prompts before you are told this so if you have a pet only minutes away from death, it will surely die before you can even get turned away.)I am not sure if the tech doesn't understand how serious anaphylaxis is or simply doesn't care.Don't let the free bottles of water in the lobby and cute picture books in the exam rooms fool you. Everyone who works there is very unhappy and not afraid to show it. They do not care about your pet. They will be rude on the phone and in person. The only pleasant person is hearing-impaired, so that tells you something. When staff are unhappy, management is to blame.I would not trust my pet with a vet who only cares about money and treats staff like dirt.Lastly, the doors are set at 1,000 pounds of pressure. They slam so hard they hurt your ears and scare your pet half to death. It's not only unnecessary, it's sadistic. There are plenty of other dermatologists in Seattle. I suggest you find a different one.

This guy is horrible. I have a bulldog who has minor skin issues. He recommended specific food that IMMEDIATELY made her skin worse - and he was obviously in bed with the food manufacturer.I took my dog off his recommended food and she went back to only minor issues. He also provided a “home made” ear wash that had no provenance or guarantee of sterility - just a typed label.Run away from this guy

I was told I would leave with some answers and I have more questions than anything. It was very expensive and the total didn’t match up to what they originally told me

This place asked for a deposit to place an appointment and is months out. My dog was doing better by the time the appointment came around so I canceled. Since then my pet has had a couple outbreaks so I wanted to try and make an appointment but they want another deposit after taking my first one. I understand that you would take a deposit to make sure the client shows up but given two weeks notice about canceling should be considered respectful and at least a partial refund or be applied to the next appointment.

My first visit With Dr. Mel was Perfect and informative. They listened to my concerns and told me the plan to take for my Dog. I wanted to like this specialized clinic, but things went south after seven weeks On their Food restrictions diet. About 5-6 weeks in, I emailed the clinic and explained my dog is not the same dog I brought in. He is Lethargic, lost some weight, and had no improvement. They Encouraged me to continue on the food-restricted diet approved by Them, I continued. In the seventh week on the program my dog developed a Secondary skin and needed immediate Treatment with My regular Veterinarian, this is why I brought My dog into the Dermatology Center is for Secondary skin infections.I called Dermatology Center for Animals and left a voice mail message explaining the current Condition my dog. To this day, they have never returned my phone call or reached out to say omg 8 weeks are up let’s bring him in for a follow up. After your money is deposited this place could careless if your fur baby is better. This was my experience no phone call back during a what to do situation.

Dr. Mel was very knowledgeable and competent in the treatment of my dog. I feel very good about working with him. He spent plenty of time with us in the exam and made sure all our questions were answered. The cost of exam and treatment is very reasonable. My dog has a difficult case with a lot of specialists, and his prognosis is not great. Dr. Mel did an excellent job of balancing hope/optimism with reality. In other news, I have been to a number of vet offices recently and they are usually kind of run-down (not in a bad way, just in a lived-in kind of way). His office is very new and clean and bright.

New to town, took my dog in to continue her allergy treatments as was started back home. Dr. Mel brought us in a room, looked at her for one second, talked in pointless circles for an hour, then charged us $200. Only to tell us to wait a year and come back. Meanwhile, my poor dog's fur is falling out. This guy's a quack, and reminded me of one of the cardinal rules of medicine: never trust a doctor who refers to themselves by their first name. Looking, now, for a qualified veterinary dermatologist, and wondering why I paid that $200 charge.

My cat has been suffering from chronic ear infections. After a few months on different medications prescribed by our veterinarian, I took her to the DCA and learned that she had a few polyps in her ear canal, as well as fluid behind the ear drum. Dr. Mel is AWESOME. The whole team at the DCA was so kind and knowledgeable. They patiently answered all of my questions and made me feel really safe about the procedures my pet would need. Dr. Mel laid out all of the possible options and was very transparent about the different costs up-front. I'll be recommending him to everyone.

Dr. Mel is amazing. Like others, we were unable to find a long term treatment through my primary vet so they recommended a dermatologist specific for animals (I never knew there was such a thing.)Dr. Mel's consultation was very informative and laid out all of the options for us. He explained to us that from the symptoms that our dog was showing we were safest and CHEAPEST to go the food allergy testing route. He then suggested other routes if this one failed (so he could've offered the more expensive route but it didn't make ethical an practical sense to do so.) Is it still expensive yes, is it worth it ABSOLUTELY.The trickiest part is getting your pet scheduled due to the effects of covid so call around if your vet recommends you to see one. But I highly recommend Dr. Mel if he's available as him and his team are professional and really care about your animal. Good luck!

I can’t say enough about Dr Mel. He is an exceptional dermatology vet. He listened to my concerns and answered my questions and explained the treatment options very clearly. We were allowed to go in with our German Shepherd, and that meant so much to us during this pandemic. I feel completely satisfied and it didn’t even break the bank. Thank you, Dr Mel.
