Design within reach customer service is infamously, poor. My neighbours and I came up with this agreement. I originally came from the East Coast. Other European high-end furniture shops, like Ligne Roset or Pedini offers first rate correspondence and service satisfaction, regardless of how expensive or how ordinary your wishlist items or items in your possession. I‘d spend more than 10k with Ligne Roset, Pedini or Konstantin Grcic. But not a penny, not even a shilling to Design within reach.You just wonder if this is how the west coast furniture shop, like Design within reach runs the business.

Customer service here is not so great. When you enter, the sales associates are sitting at their desks, you more or less have to come to them to get their attention. If you then leave your info with one of said associates they won't call you back or follow up. I'll just keep shopping online I guess...

I am so happy with my new couch from DWR. Sahar, the furniture professional that helped me was wonderful. She made the process easy and enjoyable, and the couch is perfect. It's very stylish, very comfortable and you can feel how well made it is and how high quality the leather and other materials are. I would definitely buy from them again and feel very comfortable recommending them to friends and family.

I ordered a Pier Wardrobe system in November of 2022. I am still waiting on missing pieces as of April 2023 and have been informed I won't get them until late June. Absolutely dismal customer service.

Do not shop here. On 3/1 I ordered an in-stock table. They delivered the table on 3/18 but it was defective. I waited for the replacement table which was supposed to be delivered today, 4/5, but the delivery truck broke down so who knows when I'll get my table now. Also, they can't schedule the pick up of the defective table sitting in my dining room on the same day as the replacement delivery for some reason.

I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie who went above and beyond to help me for nearly a year with an Eames Aluminum Group Chair that had some shipping issues. Stephanie’s knowledge of the products and her customer service was second to none. Stephanie helped me in resolving shipping damages and making sure the final product was in perfect condition. Beautiful showroom as always. Also I appreciate that the staff here don't mind when I have brought my children in. We do appreciate design in our home so it's important they learn how to behave respectfully in these types of beautiful places

Highly recommend their products! We coveted our Herman Miller chair for some time, finally bought one, and had some warranty issues that Gary went above and beyond to address. Amazing products but even better service: could not be happier. We are picky customer but Gary took care of us!

I bought a new and expensive Herman Miller Aeron stool from DWR, a high-end design store. The purchase went fine, although I had trouble tracking the purchase because I kept having to talk to different people. Now I need assistance with the chair. I called them today and no one answered until almost an hour after they were supposed to open. When I got someone on the phone, I asked a question about my chair and the guy flatly told me he couldn't help and I would have to call Herman Miller. So much for customer service from this high-end store.

The showroom for Design Within Reach (DWR) is fairly large and has a good amount of their furniture. Nice to be able to try furniture out in person since buying blind is difficult. The sales person did ask if we needed help but did back of when we said that we were just looking. Can't wait to get pieces into our home since it's a great fit for the intended space.

Never received my “in stock, ready ship” order and customer service has zero empathy with their customers. That isn’t The first time this happens. No idea what I can do at this point.

Read the negative reviews before purchasing from DWR. I purchased a dining room table and chairs from DWR in March (2022). I was told they would be delivered in 2 (minimum) or 3 (maximum) months. It's now 5 months and I may (still not sure) have the table in another 2-4 weeks and I have no idea when/if the chairs will arrive if ever. The only communication I've received since purchasing was months after purchasing asking me if I wanted to "separate" the dinning room table shipment from the chairs shipment. It's now become a bit of a side job of mine to call DWR, check the website, and ask how to "unblock" the shipments. Clearly I need to find another side job because I still don't have the table or chairs. Take your business elsewhere.

Never order from this company. A simple desk chair, waiting over 7 months for. Poor communication, a "we don't care" attitude, just not ok service with items so obscenely expensive.
