I came here with my boyfriend expecting it to be good. It exceeded expectations though. We wanted a cold brew, but they did not have it. We got an iced coffee instead. Normally I don’t like iced coffee because it tends to tastes burnt. This was delicious and smooth like a cold brew though. The staff were chill too. I highly recommend it.

Best almond milk latte I had during my time in Seattle for ECCC 2024, place felt very welcoming and the croissant was very good as well.

This is a review of their online operations.I started ordering from them after visiting the physical locations a few years ago. Elm Coffee Roasters offer quite nice beans for online customers. But 10oz (instead of 16oz or 12oz) starting at $19 for blend is very pricey. Single origin options are currently being sold around $22-25 for 10oz bags.Their shipping for one bag is about $4. While the beans are decent and the packaging is edgy, the value simply isn't there compared to other roasters who roast single origin beans for $20 per 14-16oz and offer free-shipping.

My go to spot for espresso & take home beans. When I was dining, in a man who was experiencing homelessness came in with not enough money for a coffee and the barista still gave them a cup of coffee and treated them like any other customer. The man joined me at my table for a while, it was a very cold day and the barista gave him multiple warm ups on his coffee too. Pioneer square is often stigmatized and it’s great to see a business treat their neighbors with dignity and respect. I’ve been coming here since 2018 and am a proud customer!

I've honestly never been to the shop, I always order their coffee online. But for all the amazing roasters out here in WA I've tried over the last 10+ years, I think Elm roasts the best damn coffee around! They always deliver interesting and complex varietals you cannot get elsewhere.I've had to rebalance my entire financials to be able to drink Elm coffee every day, though.

This place rules. Everyone that works there is chill and kind. The One Of Everything is an affordable way to try the different offerings. And a bag of beans gets you a free cup of filter coffee which is pleasant. The pastries are from Sea Wolf, I think? And always great.

Cool spot for coffee, even though they don't offer wide selection in terms of filter drinks - they make it up in kind service and atmosphere.

All of the coffees they serve are roasted in the back room. They roast Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there are large viewing windows to see the action. Cupping and brewing classes are held in the back area.I tried two different coffees. First was spiced coffee, it was amazing!!! I was afraid that it might be to sweet, but it is actually not. The sweetness is perfect. And I tried one and one. If you want to taste their coffee bean original teste and also want a macchiato, it is a good option.

As a coffee enthusiast, I love going to Elm because of their spectrum of quality drinks. If you like espresso and are not sure what to get, you could always get the 3-in-1 and have a great time being wired at the cafe. My friends and I signed up for their coffee cupping experience, where one of the baristas/roasters walked us through 8 or so different beans! We learned a lot about different regions, how they select beans, and even how they fine tune their roasting process. We even tasted beans processed using new techniques such as thermal shock. It's clear how passionate the staff at this location is about their coffee curation. The experience is $40pp, and you get a free drink afterwards with 50% off any bean purchases! I grabbed a bag of their Jhoan Vergara (notes of starburst), which was my favorite from the cupping.Tip -- they generally lean towards lighter roasts
