I talked to a friend today that has been shopping at this Fred Meyer for many years, as she lives very close and goes there quite often. She was telling me that they now have a security check and you have to show them your receipt when leaving the store. She usually goes there about 9:30 PM on her way home from work. She told me she was upset as last five times she went there, they checked her receipt about 3 times, but she noticed they did not check any other people leaving the store, only her. As I said, she has been shopping there for many many years and they should know her face by now and not ever check her receipt!!I did let her know that I was at the Fred Meyer on 175th and Aurora and they have a security that checks every persons receipt. Not sure what this new policy is but it doesn't seem fair or right. It seems to me as they should check every person every time and not pick and choose., or not check anyone??What's going on Fred Meyer?

CRIME: This review is for the crime issues around the Fred Meyer and how it impacts its customers. This is not a safe place to bring kids and I would not come here after dark. This is written in 2023 after the drug and homeless situation was supposedly cleaned up. It was not and this place is a disaster. After driving by multiple encampments, full of meth zombies you enter a parking lot full of more zombies roaming and intimidating you. you're worried about your car being broken into. people are openly stealing stuff. Detergent and propane is locked up and each item you must get help to purchase. There's one security guard for a huge complex and he obviously is no match for this or is not allowed to do anything. I realize this is a larger Seattle problem. However, if Fred Meyer doesn't solve its security issues, it will continue to drive customers away as it has me.

Since I moved to Seattle, people around me have been raving about Fred Meyer as the best grocery store. I finally made it to Fred Meyer recently. I saw a review about not being able to use the bathroom here because no one knew the bathroom code, but that wasn't the case for me. When I asked a staff about the bathroom, he was quick to contact someone near the restroom via walkie talkie and I was guided to the restroom without a hitch. So I guess whether you make it to the restroom depends on who's working at the time. The place is huge and I wondered how staff is allotted for each section, but the employees seem to get along and I felt overall a good vibe at the store. The store not only has regular grocery goods but also an entire gardening supply section and even some furnitures. Seems like a good one-stop-shop where I would visit more often if I live closer.

Customers just have to retrieve their own carts from the parking lot. The young person collecting carts was bringing just one at a time, while 4-5 people were in the lobby looking for a cart.I spent about 10 minutes shopping. My shopping partner went to use the restroom, in 10 minutes and 5 employees later she gave up, no one knew the code, no one would let her in. No one would be so bothered to call a manager. So we left, we left a cart full of groceries so we could go find a bathroom.I will buy my plants, plant food, groceries, socks, shampoo, and soap another day, and at another store. If this was the first time I left without my groceries, I would consider it a one off but this is the standard at this store lately. Prices are higher and higher, and yet I have to fetch my own cart, bag my own groceries, and there is simply no customer service.I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years, after the last couple months, today was the final straw, I will not be back.If I could give zero stars, I would.

This has been our Fred Myer for just over 7 years. We enjoy the selection Fred Myer provides. We're big Saturday or Sunday morning shoppers. This place can get pretty busy. Our favorite checkers are Vinod (OG checker) or Nan. They are super fast behind the checker. Stay away from the in school nurse guy, he'll talk your ear off and check super slow.We park two lanes north of the south entrance and we always have good luck finding a spot. Do yourself a favor and stop by Freddie's!

First timer. A little bit for everyone. As expected. Shop here for 1 stop shopping if you need bread and milk, a new sports bra, deck screws, a bird cage and flowers and a Valentine's Day card.

I got to say I moved to PDX in the spring of of 1978. Always loved FM 39th and Hawthorne. But in the last few years evened before Kroger , FM went to Kroger went to shit. And now, real shit !! Produce before was best in town. I delivered produce and Freddy's back dock would insert every pallet , every lever layer, box by box. Now they advertise every hour or much more there fresh produce and it's sub par.

By far one of the nicest fred Myers I've been to. The Asian lady that runs the check out your self area is really nice and helpful everytime I come in. The rest of the employees need to take lead behind her on customer service because she knows how to treat people. So that's the only down side for here . They need to pick it up in customer service. But the store is always so clean and full of products. And the do have a few different pumps here for electric car people. No gas at this location. Sometimes I travel farther to come here because how nice it is. A little hi or greet can go a long way.

This Fred Meyer is my local one and all things considered its OK. It's my preferred supermarket because even with an abundance of grocers, this one is the cheapest overall even though the others are closer. It's large and fairly well stocked. Spanning furniture, appliances, home needs, electronics all the way to groceries. The customer service counter needs work. The staff are all nice that I've encountered but my first time there there was only 1 person working it and there was like a line 10+ people. The aisles are a bit cramped here particularly in the grocery/dairy areas which is not good. I constantly am worried I'm blocking somebody and have to be real careful when turning in and out of aisles. The lot is large and ok with Slanted parking so that the drive aisles aren't traffic heavy or at least is usually the case. So Fred Meyer gets a pass. Wish there were more of them nearby for comparison but this Fred is OK

I went to them with a bracelet passed down to me from my grandmother and asked them to cut out some links in the chain. They called me with a quote of $24, so I said go right ahead. When I went to pick it up, they said I'd have to pay $66 instead. Unfortunately the call wasn't recorded, so I didn't have proof of what I heard (except for my husband who also heard me say $24). They did a fine job on the repair, but why did they lie to me about the quote?
