Gilman Playground is a popular park that offers a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. The park features a well-designed playground with climbing spots and natural shade, making it enjoyable for both big and small kids. There is a wading pool available on warm summer days, perfect for cooling off. For sports enthusiasts, the park has two ball fields and courts, including a basketball court and pickleball courts, which are used year-round. In spring, the fields are often filled with local youth baseball and T-ball games. The park also has green spaces suitable for picnics and casual play, with some shaded areas provided by trees and picnic tables. It is dog-friendly, with a partially fenced area where dogs can run safely, and visitors often let their dogs off-leash under control. Restrooms are available and generally kept clean, with soap dispensers stocked, although some are closed during winter. The park is surrounded by houses and small businesses, and while there is some construction nearby, it remains a clean and accessible place for families to walk, play, or enjoy outdoor activities. Overall, Gilman Playground is a versatile and welcoming community space with playground equipment, sports facilities, and areas for dogs and picnics.
One of the best pickleall courts in the area, which the Seattle Parks and Recreation is planning on getting rid of. Can't even believe it!

Hard to argue with a good park. Water wading pool on warm days in the summer, baseball and T-ball games in early summer, play structures and courts (basketball court, pickleball courts) year round - thank you Seattle parks/rec department!
