I don’t own a car in Seattle and have been renting with this location over the past year and they’ve been pretty reliable and speedy! Location is convenient to get to and the staff is always very friendly and helpful!At peak times (especially if you don’t prepay), they can run low on inventory so it would be really helpful if their systems could better track available cars & reservations.As of 3/31/2024, their lockbox for afterhours dropbox is unavailable.

Would leave no stars if I could! I scheduled to drop off car Sunday 10:30- office closed and drop box apparently out of order (no one told me) and while we were looking into how to return another party (on their way to the AIRPORT! Had the same issue). They also changed my reservation return time without informing me. When I booked on the app it was for 10:30AM on sunday but when i checked again it said 8AM Monday which I know for a fact that I did not book because it would have been impossible for us to drop it off then.Called customer support , one of us got hung up on and I got told to just leave the keys in the car and leave (in downtown seattle..) which I did! But I figured I’ll have to be defending that decision later with this horrid company.I’ve been using hertz for 5 years as a customer but I can guarantee this is my last one. I’m cancelling my gold rewards member and putting in a complaint with the BBB.In all fairness, the crew who helped me get the car yesterday were very kind but did not inform me that I needed a code to leave the parking garage or that their afterhours drop box was out of order which seems like an incredibly important detail for a rental car company.

Bad experience! I reserved an EV and picked it up on Saturday 3/23. After the trip, I returned it and dropped off the key on Monday 3/25. However I noticed a daily 100 dollars charger from Hertz on my credit card starting on Monday. I called the rental office and they said they couldn’t find the keys but they have the car in the parking lot so they would need some investigation. I haven’t heard from them since then but still charged 100 dollars a day! It’s been over a week! I’m contacting my credit card issuer to treat these unauthorized transactions as fraud!

Definitely poorly managed, understaffed and poorly run. I would not say it's completely the fault of on ground employees working there but more of the management and hertz company's failure. After sales or customer support is almost non existent. I rented a car for 3 days, and the actual rental process was okay, although 5 people ahead of me were rejected any cars probably because they created a reservation last minute. The whole process to get a car took me almost an hour which by no account is the time you want to spend on a rental counter on a Saturday. Once I got the car I found out it's apple car play/ android auto didn't work. I had rented it over the weekend for a long trip but there was no support from hertz to resolve this issue. After that I specially rented to avail After hour returns but the night of return when I brought back the car they had a flimsy paper on the Dropbox stating bring the keys tomorrow, Dropbox is shut. I called to ask extension on the return time as I have office in the morning and it's not my fault your dropbox broke, but the guy on desk could do nothing and just said return on time or pay for an extra day.So a very careless and poorly managed space. There's no reason to rent from this location if you're getting a similar price at enterprise/avis/ sixt or anywhere else. Just thanks to the lady Lowe though for getting me a car.

Booked a car through Hertz website. All went through. Arrived there even before it opened. Being a so called gold member thought at least be given decent treatment at this place.After queuing they tell me the website been allowing orders or bookings in but they had no cars to give.I can accept blunders but don't lie and say you called me when I never received any calls at all. Plus they could have at least emailed me if they could not reach me via phone. These days there's no excuse for not being able to contact your customer.But the worse thing was the cocky attitude displayed by one lady staff, who just shrugged off and ignored me just saying I need to attend the next customer. I CAN'T GIVE WHAT I DON'T HAVE. Fine we all know that little brain of yours can't think beyond a certain limit but your messing with families travelling and their plans. If I know my plans months in advance I'd book it months in advance. Most of the time it's never that long before when we decide our travel plans.This company is quick to take your money but totally useless at fixing their own mistakes.Had to frantically search for a car and I just say SIXT car rental was a breath of fresh air. So professional and they treat you like a customer at least.This Hertz rental company treats you like they are doing you a favour.Guess that explains their horrible rating on Google.Never booking from this place again.So much for Hertz Gold membership. Totally useless.

The worst rental car experience and company. Don’t bother renting from them, they overbook and take your money and don’t give you a car. The woman working there is horrible and doesn’t belong in a customer facing job. The manager was nice and fixed the issue but she should be fired. Hertz she’s giving your company a bad name.

HORRIBLE IMPATIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! DONT USE HERTZ IN DOWNTOWN SEATTLE!!!! I was inquiring about rents there and the lady answering the phones HATES customers so I ended up going with another car rental company in downtown Seattle. I asked her to repeat what she said about availability because I did not understand and she said NO and hung up.

I was sent originally to the Hertz on Aurora, where there was literally just one lady working everything. While kind of amazing, it appeared really dysfunctionally resourced. They sent us away because they didn't have the original car reserved, and we needed to get to 8th ave to get the right car.Once we got to 8th Ave, we were stuck there for half an hour because the lone employee on Aurora hadn't stopped modifying our reservation, and so the employees at 8th Ave were locked out until they could get a hold of her.In any case I was able to get things resolved here and in particular thank an individual named Marsh for sorting it all out.

I have rented from this location twice, and each time, when I've received my final charges, they've added additional fuel/recharge fees I am not responsible for. The first time I had a hybrid vehicle and returned it with more gas than it had when I took possession of the vehicle, and I was charged a refueling fee. The second time I had a completely electric vehicle. I took possession of it at 50%, was told I can return it at 25%, returned it at 35%, and was still charged for recharging the vehicle. If you find yourself in Downtown Seattle, save yourself a headache and go to Avis or Budget which has locations nearby.

A smooth one day car rental experience here! Won’t say we got the best car, but staffs are friendly and it’s very convenient that they offer 24/7 car return service which makes our daily rental way more convenient. The location is also very convenient to get to from the heart of the city!

HORRIBLE customer service, VERY unorganized and EXTREMLY Xenophobic (having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries (staff name I believe the name is Ashley- Afro-Americans or Black Americans). If you believe in ALL LIVES MATTER, I don't recommend you rent from this location or Hertz car rental. Feel free to DM me, and I'll share my multiple personal experiences.Response from Hertz after reaching out to them via the link below... They did not address the customer service interaction, just an apology for not having vehicles for my 2 reservation....This was the 3rd time at this location a vehicle was not available for my reservation. Lesson learned...."I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience experienced when we were unable to honor the reservation Sanjay. Although our reservation system is designed to provide a vehicle at the time and place requested, situations can sometimes develop that prevent us from honoring a reservation. Normally our inventory of vehicles is more than sufficient to meet confirmed reservations; however, on occasion, customers do not return vehicles as expected, and the resulting shortages cannot be overcome immediately.-Jonathan"We apologize for the inconvenience, Sanjay. -Jonathan

* they charged me 1,000$ for giving back the car late 21 days. I returned it on time! Now I'm trying to fix it but no help from help center. Beware!Was easy pickup for me (at 5pm) but when I returned on time I still got a mail after 2 weeks that I didn't. Had to call the hot line, wait and talk to someone and all they wanted to hear is that I returned it. Really strange hope that's the end of it
