I have given my former branch location 5 stars for their excellence previously. Right now I have been locked out of my online banking 2 weekends in a row. I made a single login mistake, and was locked out after ONE attempt. This is not security, it's incompetance (theirs). Who sets up a system this way? Their is no secondary way of accessing my account online. I tried phone access and it would not let me do anything either. I did get through to a customer service person in the online banking department on the weekend, and they said there was no one who could unlock the online access for me. Then what were they there for???I am truly ready to drop this bank.

This is a review for HSB Business Banking in general. My local branch here in California is awesome in terms of the people who staff it. My problem is I am continuously having to deal with Business banking's overly burdensome operation. One example is going on a business trip, calling to advise the bank that I was on the business trip and my debit card not working in spite of subsequent calls to clarify. Another is random attempted expenses for gas or just now an expense I have as a normal part of my business operations (which I have made literally hundreds of times) and the charge is declined. We've had to re-do our password countless times at this point as well because we are logging in from two separate stations. I understand the need for security, but it goes too far. Tonight, I will not be able to give an answer to a client simply because I'm unable to perform a basic operation and at this time of the evening nobody picks up on their 800#. Just too burdensome to continue to work with them. If it wasn't for the folks at my local branch, I would've left a long time ago. As it is, I'll be switching out for the new year.

Was with them when they were Yakima national bank and then they sold to HomeStreet bank, after they took ownership things started changing, my free checking turned into we are going to charge you for paper statements and I'm old school I don't do E-Statements. They also notified me that a debit card replacement would now be 10 dollars. I don't ever need to get my debit replaced unless it has had fraud or expire but 10 dollars? I think it used to be 6.00. I also one time accidentally submitted a payment of a bill that paid off the whole entire thing that was through another financial institution using my routing and account number. Little did I know it had defaulted paid the whole thing off and I didn't even have that much funds available in my account so when I called and asked for this to be a one time return ACH they told me that I would need to pay the 35 dollar return fee. I will state also I never call my bank for any issues, I think in the whole 12 years of having this account I've had three times if even that calling about an account issue. My account was negative almost 3k and to be able to get that ACH returned I would need to basically go the branch deposit over 3 k just so I could pay them their fee!! Now tell me, was that something that could have been waived or excused? Or heck even pull it out after I get my funds returned, but no they told me can't wave that fee and I would need to deposit what I'm negative and then an additional 35 dollars. What a way to not help out a customer that has been with you for SEVERAL years. If I hadn't of asked for my significant other to deposit all of that back into my account to pay the fee I would have had to wait for the other financial Institution to mail me a check and she told me that would take up to 3 weeks. Needless to say this bank is extremely careless they do not care about the hardships that customers go through, and let me tell you this, this happened in early 2021 when we were still in the thick of the pandemic. You're awful home street bank and I couldn't be more pleased that bank of Idaho has purchased my local branch because anything is better than this corporate money grabbing financial institution. Your CEO should be ashamed and embarrassed of the way this bank treats the people that bring in your revenue!!
