Was a fine mortgage servicer for several months, until they suddenly sold our mortgage -- and us -- up the river to LoanCare, who was unable to perform the basic responsibility of paying their escrow obligations or responding in a timely manner to CS contacts.I had no say in that decision, but HomeStreet did, and they did us dirty. I will no longer do business with them because they clearly did not value us as anything more than numbers in their portfolio.

I've had the worst customer service of any bank and had to close my account early - stay away: Home Street Bank has terrible management, poor communication and policies - it took weeks to get a response to an email, they don't deliver on their promises and cost me $$ - I am so disappointed and unhappy I ever trusted Home Street Bank.

Spoke with a Job Bruch about applying for a VA Home Loan. He was very rude towards me when I started questioning him about the process and tried getting him to clear up somethings I was confused about. I told him I will simply go to someone else who is willing to help me since he wants to get rude. On my way out I heard say "I am so damn tired of helping these veterans out". Please don't ever come to Jon Bruch unless you want to be treated rudely.

I was recently asked via email by David Hatlin and his company, HomeStreet Bank, to provide a review for the company website - and specifically asked to give 5 stars if possible. Well, I declined that review and will write one here instead where it may actually get posted and read. As any good consumer assessing risk/reward with a major home loan, David made the list of three loan officers recommended to me. Turns out he didn't like my due diligence of getting quotes and asking questions comparing rates, points, etc.... Never met him but his tone on the phone felt arrogant and condescending. Didn't want to work with me. Turns out I was approved by the two other lenders on my list and proceeded with the one who "felt right". Maybe just bad chemistry and don't want to totally shred David here or his company HomeStreet here. Just recommend everyone "do your shopping" and don't go off a single review source. These people are paid well to patiently and respectfully address your questions as a consumer - and earn your business.

The corporate office helped us a great deal today. The customer service representative we spoke with was thoughtful and thorough. Thank you! Below is a description of the issue we experienced with our local lender Niki Campbell. "I would like to disclose that we are only providing this review as a follow up to the initial generous review we provided via the Homestreet Bank website. Our experience during the buying process was excellent and we still believe that Niki was helpful DURING that time. However, it has become clear that should any issues arise after signing on the dotted line, we were no longer valued clients. Simply put after attempting contact through numerous emails and phone calls we were ignored. There was some miscommunication and incorrect information provided to us by our Lender Niki (we completely understand that sometimes mistakes happen) what we find unacceptable is that rather than explaining the mistake, apologizing for the miscommunication, and assisting us in finding a solution, Mrs. Campbell ignored our requests for a phone call and meeting. We have yet to receive even a half-hearted apology for the inconvenience. Only after calling Homestreet Bank and speaking with a customer service representative through their corporate office were we able to resolve the issue (with no help from our lender). To say the least we are very disappointed in the lack of communication and the little respect for our time. This review is not a reflection on Homestreet Bank Corporation but only on our experience with one employee. We are thankful that someone from the Homestreet Bank team was courteous enough to assist us in finding resolution. An insightful experience on how not to handle mistakes and the importance of good customer service!"

I was happy to receive two calls for a scheduled interview, but the follow up response was the oddest I ever encountered, almost as if they had never called me in the first place and this was for a senior management level position (?)

This place is great. As a first time home buyer, I was really freaked out about the loan process and heard so many stories about untrustworthy banks. HomeStreet made the process simple and easy. They kept me informed along each step and were very quick to communicate back with me. I knew exactly what was needed. They deserve the good reputation they have earned.
