0 stars !!!!!!!! I had a very negative experience at Icon Apartments. Management was unhelpful, maintenance requests took far too long, and overall I felt the place was not worth the cost. I would not recommend living here!!!!!!!!!!!!

**AVOID THIS APARTMENT ON ANY COST**
1.Cockroch issue inside the apartment
2. Theft in my apartment someone stole ps5 from my apartment.
3. I had 0 due amount still account department put credit debt of 200 for no reason. And apartment management supposed to comunicate with accounts team they never did. I followed up for 5 months.
4. No one listens to any problem
5. Location is in dangerous neighborhood.
6. I heard 3 gun shots below my apartment
7. Security guy was stabbed during duty.
Horrific experience.
Again a reminder AVOID THIS APARTMENT.

Been here for 2 years, I can say it’s going downhill. Management changes like every 6 months. So getting a hold of anyone is almost impossible, I’ve tried calling and emailing but nothing.
Noise level has been a lot lately. People are living in the cars in our closed gated alley and the apartment management is doing nothing about it. Around midnight, there’s always a fight, a car alarm going off and dogs going crazy. I’ve tried calling animal control, but I can’t figure out whose dogs they belong to. At times, it sounds like one was hurt cause of a dog fight.
Lately there’s been a new tenant who just blasts their radio. As I’m typing, it’s being blasted again. This guy turns on whatever, and at random times. Lately it’s been during the day, but I heard him play the radio at like midnight and 3am playing like piano and guitar music. The early in the morning and afternoon, he’ll blast it to the radio. At first I thought it was the stadium nearby cause it’s getting closer to the season, but nope. It’s just his radio. The stadium nearby is quieter than this guy.
Update: I wrote the review a month ago. As of Memorial day weekend, the noise level just alone on weekends is out the window. Recently, 9-midnight, a group of individuals were beyond crazy. Drunk, screaming, etc.. Neighbors yelling “shut up” is the only deterrence to anything. There is no maintenance to handle these sort of things, despite management claiming there is a service.

Their chatbot scheduler scheduled me for a viewing at a time when the leasing office was closed, and no one showed up or answered the phone even once the office was open. I imagine they’re about as responsive to their residents.

I had an appointment for a tour at 2:30 PM today, but unfortunately, no one showed up. It was raining, and I had to wait outside until a random resident let me in. After that, I waited in the lobby for a long time, but still, no one came. This experience was extremely unprofessional and showed a lack of respect for people’s time and schedules. Very disappointing.

I moved out of my previous apartment when my lease ended on August 16th, 2024. As there was no deposit, I was told by property management that I was responsible for a full months rent and that I would be refunded for any unused days so I paid it. I then didn't receive any correspondence or refund for the next two months so I began calling them every couple weeks. I was mostly told they would look into it and get back to me, which they never did. I then began receiving emails beginning in November saying I owed them another full months rent for September, even though I wasnt there, I turned the keys in, and the power was shut off, and my lease had ended in August so they had no reason to believe I was there. I began an appeals process that has been ongoing since then, with them saying they need another two weeks to make a decision on my appeal every time I called. Now they've sent me to collections for a debt I don't owe which will damage my credit report.

This place seemed to be improving since the end of summer, but just a month ago one of the entrance doors broke and anyone can enter and does. They have done nothing to fix it and as a result drug dealers and users come in to find customers and buddies. Just recently many many of addicts taken off ofthe streets gave been in to this place increasing the amount of mentality I'll addicts living here. The Icon is fast becoming a nightmare for anyone with a career that pays taxes. The elevators gave trash and sticky substances other floors, and there's roaches that management does nothing about. When I placed a work order for my dishwasher, they claimed to have fixed it on the workorder app when they haven't even shown up! The only good things about this place are the top floor view and that it's located at a major transit hub.

Loved my place. New appliances, tho theres some scratches on the stovetop from previous renter but aside from that there’s no problems. Thank you Bruce the property manager for being so accommodating and ready if I need to call or have some questions. The place is literally infront of every public transportation. The view is also amazing from my apartment!

The apartments themselves are, fine. They’re very standard “newly renovated/built” apartments with laminate flooring and new appliances.
But I would absolutely not recommend living here and here is a list of reasons why:
-I have had Roaches since I moved in, had exterminators called twice and still finding them. When I started seeing them in the hallways and reported it might be a problem on the entire floor I was met with silence from management.
-Dryer was not installed properly and will make the entire bathroom steamy
-Water pressure in the kitchen sink is horrible, leaks from the faucet also leaked one time under the sink and had to get it fixed
-My unit specifically has faulty windows and can’t be opened all the way, it feels like I might break it if I try
-Up until very recently there was no one in the office to talk to, calls would always go to voicemail and even if you set up a meeting (which you can ONLY do via an “apartment tour” on their website), no one will show up.
-Despite a “secure” mail floor In just the last two months alone I have had every package stolen before I could even get home the SAME DAY it was delivered. (This is because the lockers do not have codes for Fedex, usps, or dhl. Only Amazon and maybe UPS). Despite reaching out to management about this multiple times nothing had changed.
-Apparently since Ive been here Ive been paying an extra 50$ for supposedly not having the required renters insurance even though it is a requirement to show proof of insurance before moving in. This is a known system wide glitch that has not been fixed.
-Even with new on site employees, when I requested to communicate via email due to me not being able to take calls at work, I have gotten radio silence from management.
-First day I moved in one of the maintenance guys was doing a drug deal in the parking lot.
-Elevator can sound like its going to fall at any moment and will shake around violently
For the sake of not being completely unfair Ill list a couple things I do like:
-Main maintenance guy is very nice and has helped me with my roach problem the best he can
-the rooftop is also surprisingly nice, grills and firepit both work great
-For me the location is very convenient as you’re next to countless bus stops, the link station, a railcar station, the train station, and the two sports stadiums.
Besides those things I would not recommend Icon. Until it gets its ducks in order with its management and theft issues I would find a different and cheaper place. I will not be renewing my lease here.
